Backstory: 3 or so years back in Mexico there were 2 electricity companies controlled by the government. One of them managing the center area of the country, until 2010, when the government decided they were no longer useful (union is at fault).

All employees were fired instantly and the company was terminated. Government gave them a severance package and they didn't accept it, they wanted their jobs and benefits back, so they went in some sort of strike.

That particular strike has been going on until now, for some reason things got heated up at one of the picket lines and someone decided they should have a "hero". From that point I am not sure how they went with the idea to bring a luchador into the mix, but there you have it, only in Mexico.

Of course this is a very succinct version of the facts!
