While his bafflingly incomplete knowledge of the water system is terrifying, it's worse still that he thinks the Earths population has been exactly the same for the entire history of Mankind.

[–]SpockAndKirk 17 points18 points ago

wise men speak because they have something to say. Fools speak because they have to say something. -Plato

[–]thesandbar2 2 points3 points ago

So it was Plato who said that.

I've been looking for that quote for a while.

[–]1have2much3time 3 points4 points ago

And no one has ever urinated ever.

[–]RepostThatShit 6 points7 points ago

Christience leaves no room for error. Amens rea.

[–]Repealer 0 points1 point ago

and that the distribution of water is even too...

[–]CaptainRallie 37 points38 points ago

WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M DRINKING DINOSAUR PEE?!?!

[–]Bitrandombit 12 points13 points ago

Pee, tears AND blood.

[–]vladimir_puta 20 points21 points ago

Dinosaur cum.

[–]cantankerix 13 points14 points ago

That's it. I'm buying a water purification system.

[–]SillyPyro 3 points4 points ago

You just made my day.

[–]cantankerix 1 point2 points ago

Pee, tears, and blood don't bother me, but dinosaur cum is right out.

[–]IamDocbrown 0 points1 point ago

The correct scientific term is "dino gizzum" Source: Theese prehistoric nuts

[–]frostburner 2 points3 points ago

no just the water in it

[–]bouchard 6 points7 points ago

But water has memory, so it must remember being in dinosaur pee.

[–]palparepa 1 point2 points ago

MY GRANDPA DRANK NO PEE!

[–]notable_bro 36 points37 points ago

Did you reply with this?

[–]JCalhoun13[S] 19 points20 points ago

I told him that we drink water then piss it out and he responded: "No actually piss does not go to the nature read about a modern septic system"

[–]notable_bro 38 points39 points ago

[–]-Tommy 26 points27 points ago

From r/atheism I've learned that apparently there is a graph to prove every aspect of life

[–]BertShirt 3 points4 points ago

flow charts have immense usefulness in both hypothesizing and understanding many models. They are sciences' gift to the layman.

[–]K__a__M__I 0 points1 point ago

Sad that you have to learn the most basic stuff from reddit.

[–]Light-of-Aiur 0 points1 point ago

Ah, but that's the sewer system, not the septic system. I'm willing to bet that this guys friend is pedantic enough to make the distinction.

[–]notable_bro 1 point2 points ago

And then we make the connection between the two. Really, playing the. Missing Link game is silly.

[–]Light-of-Aiur 0 points1 point ago

Haha, no argument from me, bro.

[–]kioni 7 points8 points ago

But septic systems have existed for around 3 billion years! And every known species uses them! And .... ow my brain!

[–]redbeardo 3 points4 points ago

Actually they have, animals use them intrinsically. They just piss downstream.

[–]RepostThatShit 3 points4 points ago

Well yeah and the human population has also been static at 6 billion for millions of years now.

[–]Spanone1 2 points3 points ago

6000 years! Idiot...

[–]RepostThatShit 1 point2 points ago

Oh yeah, I forgot the part of the Genesis where Adam and Eve were created at the same time with 5,999,999,998 other people.

PS. I know you're just going along with the joke. I'm just taking it one step further.

[–]JimKay 6 points7 points ago

this is about the time when stupidity should have monetary consequences.

at least you need to let him know. expose that dude. hard.

[–]cal_mofo 1 point2 points ago

Stupidity does have monetary consequences. Collection plates.

[–]montyjack 2 points3 points ago

That's even MORE disturbing because it means he has no clue about how sewage processing systems can contribute to environmental pollution.

EDIT: I'm originally from Boston, where you might have heard of our harbor. (yuck)

[–]MercuryChaos 0 points1 point ago

...what? Does he think the earth just popped into existance like it is now, septic systems and all?

[–]SullivanSMS 25 points26 points ago

What?! Water disapears and goes into the sky!? Blasphemous magic!

[–]HermesTheMessenger 10 points11 points ago

Yep. Don't kids learn this years before they learn how to drive?

[–]Changeling52 2 points3 points ago

A couple of the above pics appeared in my science text books I believe as early as elementary school though I remember it most from grade 10 science class.

[–]Theishi 8 points9 points ago

Looks like God is filtering it to me.

[–]weaponize 28 points29 points ago

MAGICALLY DISAPEARS

[–]regulargabs 11 points12 points ago

I think he's playing too much Minecraft

[–]frostburner 6 points7 points ago

but you can increase the amount of water in minecraft

[–]regulargabs 2 points3 points ago

Maybe water isn't a good example, but you can cover a lake with dirt, then remove the dirt, no more water. The point is that Minecraft (or this guy) doesn't play along with the laws of thermodynamics.

I'd say this is the funniest goddamn thing I'd ever read, if it weren't so fucking sad...

[–]phenomenos 4 points5 points ago

It is satire, even if OP's friend took it seriously.

[–]Shazambom 7 points8 points ago

Isn't this like common sense for 6th graders?

[–]ace_urban 6 points7 points ago

I would reply with either "You've just proven yourself a moron!" or simply a photo of someone pissing.

[–]Bagellord 4 points5 points ago

Pretty sure this is satire.

[–]imposta 10 points11 points ago

But people linking it as an argument still highlights the fact that people are scientifically illiterate, as NDT would say. The problem isn't what people believe in, it's their inability to use critical thinking or logic to debunk those beliefs.

It's hosted on an atheist site. Your friend is silly.

[–]beernutmark 2 points3 points ago

To everyone who is not paying attention to the comments. Landover Baptist Church (where it looks like this image may have started from) is a SATIRE site. Similar to the Onion but way more believable. It looks like this comments thread deserves to be on literallyunbelivable.com (too bad they only take onion threads). You read r/atheism for goodness sake. Turn on the skepticism.

[–]beernutmark 2 points3 points ago

That said, the person who emailed it to you as an argument is a moron.

[–]big_star 1 point2 points ago

Just wait until he finds out that water was created from the big bang:

http://witcombe.sbc.edu/water/physicsuniverse.html

[–]goofygoobarock 1 point2 points ago

Long time after the Big Bang, buddy.

[–]big_star 0 points1 point ago

lemme guess...on the Third Day?

[–]goofygoobarock 1 point2 points ago

No, just way, way after it.

[–]big_star 0 points1 point ago

RIF-Reading Is Fundamental. From the article:

10 to 20 billion years ago, the Universe was in an extremely dense and hot (~10 billion °C !) state that exploded in what astronomers call The Big Bang. Eventually, the Universe expanded and cooled and huge collections of gas formed into billions of separate galaxies, and billions of stars formed within each. Many fundamental particles were formed in the beginning of this process, including the basic building blocks of all atoms: protons, neutrons, and electrons. The two lightest elements, hydrogen and helium, were also formed.

...Current models of the Big Bang predict that hydrogen should have been produced three times more abundantly than helium. Indeed, this proportion has been deduced by astronomers in observations of hydrogen and helium in the Universe. ... So how are the heavier elements, such as oxygen, formed? They are synthesized during the evolution of stars.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Sometimes you just think Poesians are harming truth and reason more than they think they are actually helping it.

[–]Progman3K 1 point2 points ago

And we've also breathed all the oxygen! Checkmate, atheists!

[–]Fausto1981 1 point2 points ago

water... once you drink it, it's fucking gone man!

[–]oxguy3 1 point2 points ago

Well, person who made this, here's my response. It uses bright colors and a smiley face sun; I'm sure you'll like it! Click here: The Water Cycle

[–]Zebba_Odirnapal 1 point2 points ago

Well clearly that's because Earth has not developed stillsuit technology yet. Bless the maker and his water, bless the coming and going of him, may his passing cleanse the world.

[–]TychoSean 0 points1 point ago

Best comment I have seen all day. Upvote for you sir...

[–]TheCutelilkitty 3 points4 points ago

There is no face palm fucking hard enough for this!

[–]Thalaas 1 point2 points ago

GOT to be Poe's law. I swear it must be! No Christian even buys that.. geeze there's almost as many problems with this one as Noah's ark!

[–]lots_of_sarcasm 0 points1 point ago

So smart yet so dumb

[–]imposta 2 points3 points ago

What is smart about that on any level? It involves basic math and a complete failure to understand fundamental science. It's just dumb.

[–]DazzaChuth 0 points1 point ago

read his name

[–]greenkeychain 0 points1 point ago

Do they think the water just ceases to exists or...

[–]RepostThatShit 2 points3 points ago

The water dies and goes to heaven, after all thems y'all's gotta drink some'm up there too durnit.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

ouch... the stupid hurt me physically...

[–]SuddenDeth 0 points1 point ago

[–]1982mike1 1 point2 points ago

It's analogous to #1, but with solids instead of liquids.

[–]SuddenDeth 1 point2 points ago

"I see what you did there"

[–]KRAKENHOUS_Kitten 0 points1 point ago

My brain just imploded.

[–]evilbrent 0 points1 point ago

um........ time to back away slowly.

but srsly, this sounds like someone who could use some help

[–]hunkofmonk 0 points1 point ago

I'm pretty sure I learned about the water cycle when I was 8 years old.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Ok, it's a little snarky at the end, but ok.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Literally the most retarded thing I've ever read.

[–]Gigantorevenge 0 points1 point ago

This is a lot like how in 3rd grade you would get partial credit for using the wrong numbers to start with and get partial credit for following through with them to the appropriate, but still wrong answer.

[–]atphosphate 1 point2 points ago

Third grade? Hell I got more credit for this on a quantum exam than I did for the right answers last week.

[–]Gigantorevenge 0 points1 point ago

Definitely, but we're talking about fundies here. We should assume that they did not go beyond 3rd grade mathematics.

[–]atphosphate 1 point2 points ago

Of course. Silly me. I'd say you are making an unfair generalization but this has held true for every fundie I've met. Incidentally, they've all been homeschooled.

[–]ceruleanshark 0 points1 point ago

This is just so damn sad.

[–]ramidowler 0 points1 point ago

You were debating God with your friend? Somehow I think that's not the fairest of match ups.

[–]Rigurun 0 points1 point ago

And we would all be pretty full of water.

[–]wisakedjak11 0 points1 point ago

r/Christianity still have a link to this just under their member count. Take that as the standard of Christianity on reddit.

[–]hlugo3347 0 points1 point ago

Stupidity at its finessst babyyy!!!!!!

[–]OneWarning13 0 points1 point ago

I think I just broke my nose facepalming

[–]wildfire2k5 0 points1 point ago

My Thor. The stupidity is strong with this one. I can't believe that he actually takes this seriously. I mean, what the hell do kids like this do in school? When they are in a science class do they "do the work" and then just forget about it when they get home? Do they tell their parents what they learned and then their retarded parents "teach" them the "real" way on how things work? How does information that is so wrong, so dumb, so ignorant get spread so far?

[–]dhicks3 0 points1 point ago

The problem I have with this is that is at least tries to use scientific notation. I think a real ignoramus would just type out all the zeroes to make their audience think they were actually dealing with big numbers. In any case, their target demographic should have an understanding of math at about that level.

[–]TedTheGreek_Atheos 0 points1 point ago

If you want his head to explode ask him how did god flood the world then?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Wait. Somebody is educated enough to use scientific notation, but can't see the flaws in this argument? Really?!

[–]volitans 0 points1 point ago

O damn thats funny. Way to go referencing a source to prove itself too. I swear sometimes people only exist because its illegal to kill them.

[–]SpaceMonkeyRage 0 points1 point ago

Your friend shouldn't be allowed to breed

[–]Ampid 0 points1 point ago

Yep, we've had 7 billion people on the planet since life began.

[–]Onoxx 0 points1 point ago

God clearly struck this guy ill for that week in 3rd grade when they teach the water cycle.

[–]ninster 0 points1 point ago

As a friend of mine says you can't fix stupid

[–]Pratnav 0 points1 point ago

Are you fucking kiding me?!?! - We pee and sweat and also when we die we don't stay all buff (if one is buff) we shrink due to the water from our bodies evaporating or being eaten by bugs

[–]ergocogitosum 0 points1 point ago

Nice to know that we have inside of our bodies all the water we ever drank.

[–]Tiphound 0 points1 point ago

I believe it would be neat to make hundreds of posters following the same format, shitty science with religion. Then just releasing the posters out into the internet wild to see if theists eventually start using them.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Damn you water cycle.. you've been found out!

[–]spacitron 0 points1 point ago

I supposed this guy never went to the toilet in his life?

[–]Horong 0 points1 point ago

I learned about the water system from the magic school bus when I was a kid.

My eye actually began twitching reading this.

[–]thomyorke64 0 points1 point ago

Does your friend realize this is an image created by atheists to mock Christians?

[–]swarexs985 0 points1 point ago

....................................... wow. First of all, we can assume that the animal population has declined in some sort of inverse relation to the human population. This can account for his assumption that the population of the Earth has always been 7 billion people. On a different note, energy can never be created nor destroyed. Only transfered. The water we drink is either expelled with waste (urine), perspired (sweat) or used by our bodies in such a way as to "use it up." The amount of water on the planet has remained relatively constant. It's a giant circle. Now, who's to say what happens when 15 billion people are fighting for the 3% of water on Earth that's actually drinkable.

[–]sinceojhadisotoners 0 points1 point ago

So many things wrong... brain shutting down!

[–]bernie16wb 0 points1 point ago

Seriously, stop being friends with this person.

[–]anothermaggot 0 points1 point ago

Matter cannot be created nor destroyed. Also, Water Cycle.

GTFO.

[–]cosmossac 0 points1 point ago

Too stupid - brain temp rising... on fire, now... shit, NEED WATER!!!!

[–]JaxHostage 0 points1 point ago

The stupid, it burns!!!

[–]SpockAndKirk 0 points1 point ago

This is excellent, I mean it could just be one of the saddest things I have ever seen... but excellent, none the less.

[–]fartsinscubasuit 0 points1 point ago

Wow.....

[–]kidl33t 0 points1 point ago

Isn't that a joke? I'm surprised anyone took it seriously. I think the water cycle was like a grade 3 science curriculum here.

[–]big_star 0 points1 point ago

you forget who you're dealing with...

[–]DevilsTrap 0 points1 point ago

Never yell science in a crowded church....

[–]jingerninja 0 points1 point ago

I would direct this person to the Magic School Bus episode about the Water Cycle and then give him a brief review of how species excrete liquid waste...

[–]cal_mofo 0 points1 point ago

That there done did maked my brain done hurts.

[–]TychoSean 0 points1 point ago

TIL that christians think that drinking water makes it magically vanish from existence. Now I want to know what they think urine is made of...

[–]big_star 0 points1 point ago

urine is made of pure evil.

[–]ex_moosling 0 points1 point ago

Honestly this is the first time I have read something so stupid that, "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" came to mind.... And I have read my share of stupid.

[–]HerpityDerps 0 points1 point ago

The best bit is that 2 of his references are simple maths ....SCIENCE!!

[–]colday 0 points1 point ago

That is the stupidest arguement I have ever seen.....Also, haven't they heard of the water cycle?

[–]Callous_Mat 0 points1 point ago

Wow. Just, wow. And here I thought science was on our side. The Jig is up boys! Get thee to a house of your dear and fluffy lord!

[–]iCantBelieveJew 0 points1 point ago

I'm seething right now. Brb gonna go rage

[–]dannywarbucks11 0 points1 point ago

It's people like that's the reason I'm becoming an author. They do too many stupid things not to transcribe it to words, for future generations to laugh at. I have only one wish: to see the look on Christians faces when they die ...

[–]dedokta -1 points0 points ago

And here are fundies talking about how great this is: http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=64512

[–]dedokta 1 point2 points ago

Wow, I got POE'd on that one. Took me a while to realise it's a send up. My bad, but damn funny anyway!

[–]DrFriedGold 1 point2 points ago

Landover Baptist is a satire site

[–]ImNotAnAlien 1 point2 points ago

I can't believe this people are serious. I mean, the experiment with the sand and hose to prove the Grand Canyon was made in a week? DaFuck?

[–]Rigurun 1 point2 points ago

They actually aren't.

[–]KRAKENHOUS_Kitten 1 point2 points ago

I think i've had as much stupid as i can deal with today. Sometimes i wonder how these people can even use a computer...

[–]buckeye-75 0 points1 point ago

You should read the thread about scientific proof of the earth being flat. I can't believe these people are for real.

[–]DrFriedGold 2 points3 points ago

They're not real. It's a satire.

[–]youtalkintome7 0 points1 point ago

OMG...what a whack-ass website lol

[–]dedokta 0 points1 point ago

Wow, I've started reading that thread, it's unbelievable!

[–]KingQuagaar 0 points1 point ago

The stupid, it really fucking hurts.

[–]kingkobeda -1 points0 points ago

This is a troll

[–]ReasonOVERFaith -1 points0 points ago

Water doesn't just disappear when you drink it.....the amount of stupid in this is incredible.
