Unless you're in Europe. When you start Windows for the first time, there's a single icon on the desktop. You click it and it asks what browser would you like, IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari and some other obscure one which I forgot. So yeah, my laptop has been IE-free since birth.

That is the software that the manufacturer ships with the laptop.

For those who don't have OEM windows, and those who didn't have alternate browsers installed in the OEM build, downloading is the only option.

Which is why it's bad. Sure the glaring security flaws and response time issues have been fixed to an extent, but it's still IE.

It's kinda like a prostitute who's been working the streets for almost 15 years, smoking and doing things unprotected the whole time. Suddenly, she gets a facelift and expects people to start paying the full 20$ again?
