Upvote for not attributing it to Dawkins.

This is, visually, the best way I've seen this quote represented. Thanks for this.

A theist believes in a god or gods

An atheist lacks belief in a god or gods

Wishing does not make it so.

If someone believes in one god they are still theists. I mean, I get the point, but seriously claiming a theist as an atheist because they only believe in one god is wrong. Jacques Martin did a similar thing to atheists in "The Range of Reason". Both are wrong.

I don't think you get the point. Think about if you are addressing a person who believes in one god. They believe in one god and you believe in one less which is none.

If that person believes in one god that makes them a theist and not an atheist. The quote says, "I contend we are both atheists..." which is completely false if someone believes in even one god. The atheist is calling a theist an atheist and that is ridiculous. And yeah I get the point, because they have sooo many other gods they don't believe in, and we are only separated from belief in one of those gods, the author "contends" they are both atheists. This is false. Words have meanings for a reason.
