From the movie "The Poughkeepsie Tapes"

Pretty messed up film.

[–]CJ_Guns 49 points50 points ago

As someone from Poughkeepsie, it's not based off a true story. We did have a serial killer locally, but he didn't do this shit, let alone tape it.

[–]Kilsimiv 26 points27 points ago

no shit. its like Blair witch. fake horror. scary as fuck if you watch it and don't know though ... except toward the end. some shit starts getting ridiculous around then. freaky as shit though

[–]CJ_Guns 19 points20 points ago*

Yea, but people too lazy to look it up are always like HURR DUURR POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES MASK KILLER SNOOKI

The actual serial killer did, however, keep all the bodies rotting in his house, some 8-10 victims. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kendall_Francois

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

The Poughkeepsie Killer "Stinky".

[–]Armagetiton 7 points8 points ago

Seems a lot of serial killers do that. Jeffery Dohmer was one - he kept the heads and other parts of his victims just lying around his apartment.

Anthony Sowell, a more recently caught serial killer in cleveland, dug shallow graves in his basement, and others were just thrown in crawlspaces. Police found a total of 11 bodies in his house... the smell was so potent, you could smell it from the street, but neighbors thought it was coming from the meat shop nearby.

[–]tinybutmighty 5 points6 points ago

Jeffrey Dahmer was actually eating parts of his victims, they found many body parts in the fridge and freezer. Dahmer was also experimenting with trying to make sex-zombies by drilling holes in his victims' heads and injecting household cleaners into the holes.

John Wayne Gacy, the killer clown, had an crawlspace leading to a paved-over swimming pool on his property and would put his victims' bodies in there. He also buried some under parts of the house and threw other victims off a bridge nearby.

Also, I'm from a few towns over and had never heard about this guy. You learn something new every day!

[–]Kowzorz 8 points9 points ago

make sex-zombies by drilling holes in his victims' heads and injecting household cleaners into the holes

"I'll just pour this substance into this guy's brain that normally would kill him if he was alive. That'll bring him back to life!"

[–]MPinsky 12 points13 points ago

No he drilled the holes while they were alive, then poured the stuff in. He was trying to make them alive but brain dead. Some were alive for hours after the drilling.

No pun intended.

[–]flobin 0 points1 point ago

Do you have a source?

[–]tinybutmighty 2 points3 points ago

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Dahmer

Its in the last paragraph of the Murders section (sorry, I don't know how to link to a specific part of the wikipedia page)

Also, I have my Masters in Forensic Psych and in class we spent a fair amount of time talking about serial killers so I've read a lot of more reputable sources about his crimes too which also confirm this behavior. I just don't have access to those sources at the moment.

[–]MPinsky 0 points1 point ago

I read that in some book I found in the bargain bin at chapters. Called the A-Z of serial killers or something? I'm at work but I'm sure you can find it online. Thing is compared to the other shot Dahmer did, this seems almost normal.

[–]Kowzorz -2 points-1 points ago

That makes a whole lot more sense. I would think a corpse would work just as well though.

[–]tinybutmighty 2 points3 points ago

Haha sorry, maybe I should've specified, he did this to them while they were alive. He would heavily sedate them, then drill holes in their head and put the cleaners in. He was hoping to remove their ability to do things of their own volition. It didn't really work, as you can imagine.

[–]country_hacker 0 points1 point ago

Seems like lobotomizing would have had a better success rate.

I mean, er....that's horrible. How could anyone think up such a horrific idea?

[–]ABusFullaJewz 0 points1 point ago

I kind of had the same thought. Then again, to do this in the first place, you'd have to be pretty damn mad and at that point it's unlikely to have enough reasoning to say, "I bet using a technique that has been used successfully for years wouldn't work nearly as well as Drain-O"

[–]Strangely_Calm -1 points0 points ago

Sufjan Stevens' album Illinois is a learning experience in itself. There is a song called John Wayne Gacy on there. Really amazing album.

[–]SpacemanSpiff56 2 points3 points ago

Recommendation? I'm ready to watch me some weird shit

[–]Kilsimiv 15 points16 points ago

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsuTTMiSScc

In all its glory. Enjoy! Best to watch late at night with zero lights on, no joke.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points ago

I couldn't get past the bad acting for this to be remotely frightening. I just don't see how it was scary at all?

[–]Grinning_Caterpillar 37 points38 points ago

STOP HAVING A LEGITIMATE OPINION!

[–]seespotcry 3 points4 points ago

I agree. I was wholly disappointed by this movie.

[–]spacely_sprocket 0 points1 point ago

A considered, reasoned opinion? Who the fuck let you in here?

[–]itrubs_thelotion 0 points1 point ago

Ditto, I liked the bondage but you can get way more hardcore just watching sensi blu

[–]Kilsimiv -1 points0 points ago

well that's an opinion.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Very much so. So is the film being frightening to whomever was frightened.

[–]Kilsimiv 1 point2 points ago

Well played old bean.

[–]jubjub2184 1 point2 points ago

I just watched all of it. It wasn't that bad... Not exactly terrifying to me...but hey, I'm weird.

[–]Carpetfizz 0 points1 point ago

Just checked Wikipedia, and they said it was a "mockumentary." Ruined the effect for me, but at least I'm glad these terrible things didn't happen to anyone.

[–]Kilsimiv 1 point2 points ago

ruined it for me too, after the fact

[–]Grooth 0 points1 point ago

Thanks for this! It's upsettingly not on netflix

[–]CARROT_IN_MY_PENIS 0 points1 point ago

"I think something bad happened to my daughter, I think somebody took her."

[–]ARS_ 2 points3 points ago

A Serbian Film

[–]Fredigundo 1 point2 points ago

Saw it yesterday, would also recommend

[–]talkingdonkeys 1 point2 points ago

just read the wiki about this film, might just give it a miss...

[–]lauridsmadsen 1 point2 points ago

Genuinely messed up and with great quality filming!

Ooh! I'm from Kingston! Howdy, neighbor!

[–]Storyforu 0 points1 point ago

That you know of... dramaticchipmunk.gif

[–]thebugguy 0 points1 point ago

As a Poughkeepsie resident I can confirm this.

[–]NYHCxPurity 0 points1 point ago

As someone who lived in Poughkeepsie. The killer did keep tapes, but he did not kill as many people as the movie says he did. Also his tapes were "Very disturbing" according to the detectives reviewing the case. The best part of this is the "Walk it Out" version. youtube it.

[–]lurkerer 1 point2 points ago

Just piggy backing your top comment in hopes someone can address my question. Early in the film the killer talks to Cheryl Dempsey's mother in order to mock her or get some sadistic pleasure out of it. They then [Spoiler Alert] kill the wrong dude after a long trial. Surely she could have come in and said it wasn't that police officer.

[–]DFWTooThrowed 0 points1 point ago

Full length film is on Youtube. I have only watched parts of it, and I only know a handful of people that have been able to finish the whole movie. The one's who did finish it honest to God, thought they were being followed for weeks just from how traumatized they were from seeing the whole thing.

[–]jonkoeson 0 points1 point ago

Did it actually come out? I've been trying to find it forever, saw the preview for it in theaters years ago.

[–]Scrambo 30 points31 points ago

This was terrifying at first but when I saw the other mask, all I could think of was This.

[–]MbMn91 9 points10 points ago

"OOORRGGYYY"

[–]Yarumasi 0 points1 point ago

I can always spot an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia reference. Always. Goddamn internet

[–]Osmodius 2 points3 points ago

I feel it was a lot more terrifying with the first mask. It went from creepy as fuck to kind of just standard scary.

[–]boomer0913 17 points18 points ago

Nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu spiderman spiderman!!!!!!!

[–]mhelliwell 30 points31 points ago

Nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu Läderlappen!!!

[–]juzwa 16 points17 points ago

Is this supposed to be scary or what? It just looks ridiculous...

[–]Manial 9 points10 points ago

Yeah I have to agree, it just looks like the makers were trying too hard to be scary and threw in every cliche they could think of.

[–]peter__venkman 2 points3 points ago

tl;dr, I just started film school....

Please, list all of the cinematic cliches in this GIF...

[–]GeorgeTaylorG 4 points5 points ago*

I watch horror movies all the fucking time, and personally I thought the gif looked really cool. I'm guessing the guy above you is talking about the "demented" movement that was popularized by The Ring. If you've ever seen a movie called "Martyrs" it has one of the best uses of that style. I wouldn't call it a cliche, it can just be used wrong.

I think it's pretty powerful myself. It dehumanizes the monster even further. You don't think about how something as minor as walking can be scary.

[–]De3osthenes 1 point2 points ago

I've heard of the movie Martyrs. A few friends have seen it and suggest it. But when I went to look it up on Wikipedia, I found this.

"A U.S. remake from the producers of Twilight is in the works."

[–]GeorgeTaylorG 0 points1 point ago

Producer doesn't really mean much. It's an extremely gritty disgusting film, and I'm sure they won't cut any of that out since that's a major part of it.

If you are intrested in watching it, I say go ahead. I was slightly disappointed with it. The first two acts are incredible with some of the best use of cgi I've ever seen in a horror film. But then the third act ventures into the "torture porn" genre, and I'm not a big fan of that. It's a great movie that (in my opinion) turns south by the end.

[–]Bonzo1988 0 points1 point ago

Wanna watch some weird shit..see a serbian film in you can find it

[–]Switche 0 points1 point ago

I fully expect someone to badass.jpg you, but this looks more like a parody of a docuhorror than it does an actual clip from one.

[–]Jesuishunter 13 points14 points ago

It's not Nightmare, it's Voldo, stupid.

[–]Doogragoo 46 points47 points ago

Good news Reddit! I'm never sleeping again so you're going to see a lot more of me!

It's the end of the Blair Witch Project. I recommend not clicking.

"nightmare fuel? Gonna be a spider gonna be a spider gonna be a spid-O_O

[–]sweatyspaghetti 4 points5 points ago

[–]IsItSafeToClick 0 points1 point ago

It seems to be the gif played over and over put to a rap song which repeats the words "Walk it out" a large number of times.

[–]HarlequinNight 2 points3 points ago

I love it when your eyes kinda read the title of a slightly higher or lower post and don't quite realize you clicked the wrong link at first. I watched this expecting it to correlate to "How to avoid Jehovah's witnesses" and was really curious where this was going.

[–]Aesirr 2 points3 points ago

oh, great. its butcherface

[–]mikeman24 -1 points0 points ago

upvote for slightly hipster reference

[–]Doovid97 0 points1 point ago

Butcherface is hipster now? Me hipsta.

[–]Christemo 0 points1 point ago

Just the mask in the picture in Alien Blue is creeping me out

[–]cycophuk 0 points1 point ago

Just keep telling yourself that it's make believe.

[–]Christemo 0 points1 point ago

I've seen similar masks on the front of theatres, that's why i never go to non-movie-theatres.

It's also why No-Face in Spirited Away creeps me the fuck out.

[–]cycophuk 1 point2 points ago

Oh, the rest of that is completely real and you are smart for being careful like that. This particular clip is pretty well understood that it is fake, so you shouldn't have to worry about it.

[–]Meghamoon 1 point2 points ago

Oh well, I didn't really want to sleep anyway.

[–]Standup2sitdown 1 point2 points ago

This movie fucked me up pretty bad for weeks after.

[–]kylec2011 1 point2 points ago

This entire movie is scary as shit.

[–]eam1188 1 point2 points ago

the only reason i'll be able to sleep at night is because those syringes remind me of scarecrow from arkham asylum

[–]SnowRabbit 1 point2 points ago

why did i click this!?! i had a nightmare of something like that once, never knew this thing even existed! WTF MY NIGHTMARES ARE COMING TRUE!!

;_____________________________________________________;

[–]KinArt 1 point2 points ago

I saw this movie. I pooped.

[–]Ghstfce 1 point2 points ago

Nightmare fuel? Seriously? This is reminiscent of something you'd see in Cirque du Soliel, you pussies.

[–]HorsesFlyIntoBoxes 1 point2 points ago

Sleeping is too mainstream anyways.

[–]mypantsareonmyhead 4 points5 points ago

That's why I can't do acid any more.

[–]TheFatOneKnows 10 points11 points ago

There is almost no connection between this and recreational use of LSD.

[–]peter__venkman 5 points6 points ago

People that say things like the above comment (not yours, but mypantsareonmyhead's), generally have not even smoked a cigarette. They just know that movies tell them acid makes you see things, so when they see something weird, they are like "omg acid".

[–]MbMn91 5 points6 points ago

OMG LOOK AT ALL THOSE WEIRD COLORS, SO TRIPPLY LOL

Hate this shit. The worst for me is when I recommend The Wall (the film) and people are like, "Oh I'll only watch that if I'm tripping". Fuck you, it's great on its own. You can enjoy something weird and metaphorical without psychedelics.

[–]WizardBlue 1 point2 points ago

Admittedly shit like The Wall was made for tripping but I agree with you. It's sad when people aren't able to enjoy things without being under the influence.

[–]Flatline334 1 point2 points ago

False! Life can only be enjoyed while constantly tripping balls.

[–]mypantsareonmyhead -3 points-2 points ago

I was using acid when you were still probably shitting in your diaper and your mommy was wiping your ass. And yes I've had bad trips. So hey, fuck you.

[–]peter__venkman 1 point2 points ago

tl;dr. I AM SO MUCH COOLER THAN YOU, I AM BETTER THAN EVERY COOL PERSON EVER COMBINED, ILL BEAT YOU UP.

[–]mypantsareonmyhead -5 points-4 points ago

Hey I think I know you - you're in my son's Grade School class.

[–]XT9 0 points1 point ago

Hey, uh.... It's pretty obvious that you aren't that old. Its also pretty clear that you're the whiny child in this situation. So please, quit while you're behind, internet stranger.

[–]mypantsareonmyhead -1 points0 points ago

How pathetic, you silly little troll. I mean forfucks sake, you're liked Power Rangers. So my comment was literal: you were still shitting your panties while I was partying. Run along now, momma's calling.

[–]TheFatOneKnows 0 points1 point ago

Translation please?

[–]XT9 0 points1 point ago

This guy got in a fight with someone about their ages. I posted saying I was pretty surehe was a kid because he acted like a middle schooler. He mistook me for the guy that first started the fight, went into my comment history, and found that I liked power rangers. Hey, I'm 16. I'm not part of this "big man's" dick measuring contest. This is something people on Reddit do a lot to try to win fights.

[–]XT9 0 points1 point ago*

Alright, man, try not to cry. This isn't about me. We are not arguing my age. I'm 16. I haven't done any drugs in my entire life. You might want to check who you're talking to, because I'm not the guy you originally got in this argument with. I just figured I would let you know that you are wrong and look like an idiot. Heck, it'd be even worse if you were right and act like a petulant child at your age. I think its incredibly cute that you went through my comment history to learn my age, but the guy you were originally arguing with is higher up in the thread.

[–]mypantsareonmyhead 0 points1 point ago

Like I give a fuck, sonny.

[–]DarkEibhlin 0 points1 point ago

Well not gonna sleep tonight after seeing this

[–]Photog_dog 0 points1 point ago

The whole movie is on youtube in one video. It's not a bad film just Kind of bizarre and eerie.

[–]NoRaptors 0 points1 point ago

All I really wanna know is what's up with the double-syringe-glove?

[–]Christemo 1 point2 points ago

What about the forward link to page 3 of That korean comic on comic.naver?

[–]A_Fluffy_Guy[!] 0 points1 point ago

Thanks a lot. I was starting to fall asleep too.

[–]martellaj 0 points1 point ago

nope.

[–]iamnotlefthanded 0 points1 point ago

Why the fuck did I click on this in the middle of the night fuck me.

[–]SenSei_Buzzkill 0 points1 point ago

That movie is pretty fucked up. I don't recommend watching it if you get scared by any other horror movie.

[–]vodkamartini 0 points1 point ago

You should post this to /r/creepy as well

[–]darik132 0 points1 point ago

At first I thought it was a panda. Then I looked at the persons face and thought they had alot of snot on there face. Then I remembered the tittle of the gif.

[–]Rockerx_9503 0 points1 point ago

Reminds me of a TOOL video

[–]ARMENIAN_headies 0 points1 point ago

i thought this movie did a great job showing how FUCKED ones brain gets after being kept as a "slave"...amazing movie

[–]wolfanotaku 0 points1 point ago

This movie is not nearly as scary as this gif makes it out to be.

[–]GeorgeTaylorG 0 points1 point ago

Thought this looked pretty awesome. Definitely gonna watch this movie.

[–]gentlytakemyskull 0 points1 point ago

I went to high school with the man who plays the killer.

Saw this on 4chan/x/ yesterday. Makes me wonder who's really stealing from who.

[–]kooley 0 points1 point ago

that was a fucked up movie

[–]pchunter 0 points1 point ago

I think its not as scary cause it didn't have sound... I've seen the whole clip on youtube with sound and its prob the top 5 WTF moments I've had in my life. You can see the whole clip where she was whining/screaming/crying and then when he comes right up to her, there is dead silence and just frantic breathing. The worst part is when she starts gurgling out blood and starts choking on it (past the end of this clip not shown).

Truly one of the most wtf moments in my life that I JUST RECOLLECTED AFTER TRYING TO FORGET ABOUT IT.

I'll try looking for the actual video and post it if i can find it.

EDIT: here you go you sickos

[–]Obversaria 0 points1 point ago

What movie is that from?

[–]peasandbones 0 points1 point ago

Poughkeepsie Tapes

[–]Obversaria 0 points1 point ago

Ok thanks.

[–]pyrosheep 0 points1 point ago

I just pissed my pants. I'm not even joking right now, I legitimately just pissed myself.

[–]XxEmoWolfiexX 0 points1 point ago

It looks like those things chasing you on Temple Run. Well you know, until the end.

[–]Q_Guy_7 0 points1 point ago

I watched that while Flogging Molly was playing on Pandora, and it was hilarious.

[–]Animallover3 0 points1 point ago

Oh god. . .

[–]thebugginator 0 points1 point ago

why did i go from a NSFL link straight to this one?! GODDAMMIT REDDIT I NEED SLEEP

[–]DemonBunnyFooFoo 0 points1 point ago

Well, that's creepy as heck. Here, have an upvote.

[–]nessarose4 0 points1 point ago

I feel like I'm the only person who watched this and didn't flinch...

[–]RageLibrary 0 points1 point ago

I read about Jeffery dahmer. It literally scared me out of my house. Simply reading the article scared me, that any person could be that awful. I then came inside and cried, and didn't sleep for two nights. I know this had nothing to do with the video above, I just needed to tell someone.

[–]TheUSARMY45 0 points1 point ago

what the actual fuck did i just watch?

[–]awesome_tara91 0 points1 point ago

So I'm not sleeping tonight now...

[–]a_fig_newton 0 points1 point ago

Sleep is overrated.

[–]nanners15 0 points1 point ago

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!

[–]Neoxite23 0 points1 point ago

I was desensitized at a very young age...movies don't scare or creep me out. Yeah I jump when something happens all of a sudden but that's about it. I still love scary movies though.

[–]OmEgah15 2 points3 points ago

I was also, and I LOVE them now, but I still get creeped out by things like this. For example, I just ran from the bathroom back to my room after watching that gif. Sprinted.

[–]Neoxite23 4 points5 points ago

I mean there are times when my very own imagination creeps me out and I'll do much what you just did. Like I'll be laying in bed and then I'll think of something extremely creepy and be like "Man I would love to see that in a movie......and now my hand is not going anywhere near the edge of the bed tonight". As for movies though....they just don't do it as much cause it's EXTREMELY predictable.

[–]OmEgah15 2 points3 points ago*

Well put. Also, it looks like the full movie isn't on youtube anymore, and the only place I could find it was here

http://movpod.in/scd0yekbzw07

[RIP MEGAUPLOAD]

I'm about to watch, then take a shower and go to sleep. Wish me sleep, reddit.

EDIT: DEAR GOD WHY DID I WATCH THAT? WHY DIDN'T YOU PEOPLE STOP ME?

[–]Neoxite23 2 points3 points ago

I can say there has been only two movies that has truly scared me....ever.

  1. Childs Play. I had a My Little Buddy doll I mutilated and set on fire after seeing that movie.

  2. Nightmare on Elm Street original. Gave me nightmares for some time.

[–]MbMn91 0 points1 point ago

It seems like the only movies I truly find scary (love horror movies, by the way) are the ones I have childhood association with. Poltergeist and Alien (the chest bursting scene) stick out.

That being said, the last thing that REALLY scared me was Dead Space 2. Played it at night, in the dark, volume up. Wonderful terrifying, especially that opening: "Listen very closely: you are in terrible dangeraAHHHHHH!"

[–]Neoxite23 0 points1 point ago

Speaking of gaming scares...yeah Dead Space does do it right....but much like Mark puts it...it goes from scary to adrenaline rush. I wanna play Amnesia....people keep saying it's terrifying.

[–]formatt 0 points1 point ago

[–]OmEgah15 0 points1 point ago

[–]formatt 0 points1 point ago

Holy shit I need to watch this. I just got some inspiration for my surrealist short film due for school before the end of the month.

Well it crawls up behind her and you don't see it for about a second then it stands up and it is wearing a different mask on its face, as it turns out the mask at the start is on the top of its heard (it's hard to explain).

Then it brings its hand up to the girls neck and it has two large needles attached to two of its fingers and it is about to stab the girl in the neck but the gif ends.

Edited for wording
