I have to upvote anything with Peter Dinklage in it, I don't care what it is.

[–]The_Maddog 116 points117 points ago

Ditto. That guy has become one of my favourite actors....and it acctually had zip to do with GoT..though he;s just as brilliant in that.

[–]brokentowel 380 points381 points ago

[–]The_Maddog 137 points138 points ago

Shit...I never realised how hipster that sounded there. I feel dirty now.

[–]brokentowel 67 points68 points ago

The response I would expect of your people

[–]tsingi 50 points51 points ago

Shit, now they know what our flag looks like.

It's only a matter of time before they invade.

[–]dtothelu 5 points6 points ago

Wait, they have internet in Canada?

[–]wonkydonky 2 points3 points ago

Americans know what the Iraq flag looks like?!

[–]tsingi 1 point2 points ago

Iran

[–]therealsylvos 35 points36 points ago*

Don't worry, I believe you. In Bruges is probably my favorite movie.

EDIT: Wrong dwarf, I'm a moron. BUT HE WAS REALLY GREAT IN DEATH AT A FUNERAL!

please be the right dwarf this time

[–]holierthanmao 26 points27 points ago

Peter Dinklage isn't in In Brugge

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]YeNdEz 35 points36 points ago

I see what you did there.

imply

[–]therealsylvos 3 points4 points ago

Nope, I'm just dumb. I really thought that was dinklage. In my defense as I was typing Jordan prentice into google the first suggestion was in reference to peter dinklage.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]amaefm 3 points4 points ago

Both Death-at-a-Funerals too.

[–]Lord_Vectron 2 points3 points ago

...Moooooooooooooom it's happening again.

It seems every time i watch a relatively obscure/old film, it's randomly mentioned directly afterwards. I mean, what the fuck, was it the wrong dwarf for this post, or was it the RIGHT dwarf to freak me the fuck out?

[–]shermo4291 1 point2 points ago

DWARF RACISM!

[–]burglecut 1 point2 points ago

he was great in Willow too

[–]IgnorantPom 2 points3 points ago*

Holy fuck; the other day, when talking about GoT with a friend, I mentioned that I had followed his work since 'Threshold'. I am a hipster!

[–]saucisse 8 points9 points ago

Nah, its cool. I've seen The Station Agent at least a half dozen times. What a great flick that is. I've never seen a single episode of GoT, not because I'm a hipster douchebag but because I can't afford HBO.

[–]runningformylife 18 points19 points ago

I don't think that's stopped thousands of other people.

[–]Sarah_Connor 23 points24 points ago

What's HBO? Isn't GoT produced by TPB?

[–]ChocolateYoghurt 5 points6 points ago

Yeah,

Just like meat is grown in the supermarket ;)

[–]saucisse 2 points3 points ago

The Powers that Be?

[–]The_Bobs_of_Mars 4 points5 points ago

The Pirate Bay, sir.

[–]Vaskre 4 points5 points ago

Ser.

[–]The_Bobs_of_Mars 1 point2 points ago

I see what you did there. I'm afraid I'll have to take your head for it.

[–]well_i_guess 7 points8 points ago

thought for sure this would be a Cenk (Young Turks) reference =(

it should have been

[–]MisterMeat 1 point2 points ago

I saw The Station Agent in the theater during it's original theatrical run, is my Pabst Blue Ribbon in the mail?

[–]6degreestoBillMurray 6 points7 points ago

I first saw him in Find Me Guilty, where he played a lawyer. It was then that I realized how few times I've seen little people in a role that could just as easily have been played by someone of normal stature (not an unreal, fantasy role like the Oompa Loompas or Mini Me). He's such a phenomenal actor.

[–]wren24 2 points3 points ago

That's what I loved about him in Penelope. His character could've been played by anyone, but he was simply the best choice. It had nothing to do with his size. :)

[–]RandomStranger79 1 point2 points ago

I'm not sure what a GOT is, but he's still a pretty great actor.

[–]The_Maddog 2 points3 points ago

Game of Thrones

[–]jenchan13 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, me too. I fell in love with him in threshold, even though the show sucked.

[–]samsquamsch 1 point2 points ago

My dad was watching The Station Agent and I was in the room at the time, and ended up watching the whole thing; damn good movie and my first exposure to him. When I found out he was in Game of Thrones it was just that much more awesome and easy to get into.

[–]Booyeahgames 1 point2 points ago

I didn't remember him from much before GoT, but he's my favorite part of the show. The characteris written awesome, and he owns every scene he's in.

[–]Enlightenment777 1 point2 points ago

[–]BenignZombie 123 points124 points ago

Why is he so not phased and non clappy-like?

[–]Sirusavath 211 points212 points ago

This was at one of the award shows where he had a nomination. This is when they said his name. He's just being modest.

[–]alphaweiner 132 points133 points ago

It's weird that no one in the frame is looking at him even though they are clapping for him.

[–][deleted] 179 points180 points ago

Because he's so much bigger on the screen.

BAM! DWARF JOKES. I GOT EM.

[–]kiwisdontbounce 19 points20 points ago*

Why did the dwarf go to the shopping mall?

EDIT: Beats me.

[–]FuLLMeTaL604 18 points19 points ago

To be some stuff like everyone else?

[–]SkullyKitt 34 points35 points ago

That's some zen shit, right thar

[–]COOKIE_CRUMBS 2 points3 points ago

so droll...

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points ago

TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME I'M TOO LAZY TO GOOGLE

[–]confused_boner 10 points11 points ago

IT'S NOT ON GOOGLE! THE HORROR!!

[–]kiwisdontbounce 1 point2 points ago

haha I thought you had the dwarf jokes. :D

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Damn. You got me. Umm.... Because it was closer to his house and he doesn't have a car so he prefers not to walk far because his legs are so short?

[–]FlatBot 1 point2 points ago

Show me show me show me how you do that trick

[–]MyOtherLoginIsClever 5 points6 points ago

I must know. Why?

[–]thejoshu 2 points3 points ago

I'm not sure, but whatever he needed, it must have been in SHORT SUPPLY.

rimshot

[–]desktop_ninja 0 points1 point ago

Fuck you.

[–]kiwisdontbounce 1 point2 points ago

:( I still upvoted that.

[–]saintmuse 4 points5 points ago

Didn't your mother teach you, it isn't nice to stare at little people.

[–]csmithers 11 points12 points ago

Nobody wants to admit their urge for tossing him onstage if he wins.

[–]sall_good_man 9 points10 points ago

I like it better when I'm thinking it looks like he's just too cool to applaud.

[–]manfred_wellington 2 points3 points ago

It bugs me when people clap for themselves. Actors always do that at their circlejerk award shows.

[–]renegadeofunk 1 point2 points ago

I imagine it's also the "oh he's a dwarf so we should be extra exuberant in our clapping/liking of him". If you're truly not phased by someone's characteristics then you shouldn't react differently at all.

[–]rediculousam 10 points11 points ago

I believe his name was just announced as one of the contenders. He isn't going to clap for himself.

[–]_meraxes 7 points8 points ago

SAP wins award; claps for self.

[–]Logoll 1 point2 points ago

That is something that I always fund funny at award ceremonies. Most nominees will applaud when their names are mentioned. Early in primary school we were taught that you never clap for yourself it is bad manners.

[–]RoiClovis 5 points6 points ago

They called his name when he was being mentioned as a nominee for an award.

[–]daliminator 7 points8 points ago

Just fyi, it's "fazed".

[–]wodon 4 points5 points ago

Because he has just won an award. They are clapping him.

[–]quikjl 24 points25 points ago

that must be painful.

[–]baddrummer 2 points3 points ago

He got the Clap.

[–]Herbagy 24 points25 points ago

What is this from?

[–]saucisse 14 points15 points ago

Looks like the Golden Globes. The audience (i.e. nominees and hangers-on) are seated at round tables and plied with extraordinary quantities of champagne in the hopes that they'll behave outrageously when they're up at the mic (and they usually do.)

[–]MGM420 13 points14 points ago

Most of Hollywood are already alcoholics.

[–]saucisse 5 points6 points ago

That doesn't mean they misbehave in public. The Oscars and Emmys are very tame. The GGs are when people really cut loose (or used to, anyway).

[–]RaindropBebop 3 points4 points ago

Yeah, can we get some context, anyone?

[–]enjoyablycrazy 17 points18 points ago

they were clapping for him

[–]i_am_new_there 6 points7 points ago

His lifetime achievement award ceremony.

[–]gigamonster1 2 points3 points ago

is there a video source?

[–]yourdadsbff 32 points33 points ago

Me when people submit reaction gifs to /r/atheism and get heavily upvoted for it

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]onelovelegend 1 point2 points ago

I have another reaction to those things.

[–]wixed 5 points6 points ago

did they accidentally mispronounce his name to that of one of the other people winning whatever award he was nominated for?

[–]throwaway232211 20 points21 points ago

Me when an atheist thinks they're smart after arguing with someone on facebook:

http://i.imgur.com/KlKSv.gif

[–]cheezncrackerz 4 points5 points ago

I upvoted the post originally because that's what I thought the title said. Made sense because the rest of r/atheism is clapping and cheering and I'm never even slightly amused. I feel like most of the subscribers of this subreddit lurk around on facebook waiting to blow up one someone for posting anything even vaguely religious, even if that thing is completely non-confrontational to begin with. They say "TIMOTHY 2:12!" then show it to r/atheism and reap the karma. It's the same bullshit every time. A lot o people on this subreddit (not atheists in general) are just as big of followers as the people they mock. Downvotes imminent.

[–]Bieber_hole_69 20 points21 points ago

Just comment a bad bible verse, like 1 Timothy 2:12 or Leviticus, chapter 11

[–]klsi832 34 points35 points ago

Timothy 2:12- I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

I had to Google it.

[–]le_trout[S] 8 points9 points ago

As did I

[–]ShowMeUrrGenitals 43 points44 points ago

You must not spend too much time here. That's r/atheism's standard response to any woman who says something religious.

[–]le_trout[S] 9 points10 points ago

You are correct, I only come every once in awhile.

[–]ExcellentGary 13 points14 points ago

You should try harder.

[–]icanseestars 10 points11 points ago

Use both hands, maybe.

[–]TLanders 9 points10 points ago

[–]DankoRamone 2 points3 points ago

I find it huge fun to make up a bible verse completely. For all the times I've done that, not once have I been caught.

[–]shinnmaster92 49 points50 points ago

You become a midget?

[–]dangeraardvark 46 points47 points ago

That is not preferred nomenclature, dude.

[–]I_RARELY_RAPE_PEOPLE 17 points18 points ago

[–]MyCakeIsALie 30 points31 points ago

[–]RotationSurgeon 4 points5 points ago

Dwarf was a little --too-- high fantasy for GoT.

[–]young_d 1 point2 points ago

AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THE RULES?!

[–]erer44 3 points4 points ago

Leprechauns prefer to be called gnomes...or whatever.

[–]Gholer 1 point2 points ago

Good old Karl Pilkington. I wonder what's in the works for him, Ricky and Steve?

[–]nevergreen 10 points11 points ago

Matthew 6:5 is a good one in this situation

[–]FeistyCrawfish 3 points4 points ago

Aye, but there's a difference between posting "Oh look at me, I'm such a good Christian blah blah blah" bible verses and those who post some pretty inspiring and goodhearted stuff.

[–]RandomMandarin 8 points9 points ago

He's an imp-poster!

...otherwise he'd have a glass of wine pretty much welded to the end of his arm. Seriously, the Peter Dinklage action figure will have to come with Goblet Hoisting Action.

aaaaaaand now you want to buy one.

[–]Bazing1980 2 points3 points ago

Well, you're not wrong.

[–]acosmichippo 3 points4 points ago

...you're just an asshole.

Peter Dinklage <3

[–]pootamus 1 point2 points ago

At least its not the typical athiest rage.

[–]le_trout[S] 1 point2 points ago

Thank you. Tons of people here don't see that I'm not the typical r/atheism poster and being obnoxious.

[–]Lamar_the_Usurper 1 point2 points ago

Dinklage will be the next generation's Patrick Stewart.

[–]Flatbar 1 point2 points ago

What's this about? I've seen this gif before. I'm just wondering why he wasn't pleased at whatever everyone else was applauding.

[–]Eetcake 1 point2 points ago

This is how I felt at Easter service this morning.

[–]SammyDavisJr420 1 point2 points ago

what is this "Peter" "Dinklage" guy reacting to is what I'm most curious about??

[–]Legitx 1 point2 points ago

I don't know who he is or where this is...I'm only upvoting for his hair

[–]Gingerbreadmancan 1 point2 points ago

I met that guy at whole foods in union square NYC. He had a hot babe by his side. Really chill dude.

[–]PenorMcLong 1 point2 points ago

wtf is foreground guy doing with his tongue?

[–]SippinOnaTallBoy 1 point2 points ago

Christian-Catholic here, I agree, it's a bit obnoxious.

[–]f3ldman2 1 point2 points ago

When did Peter Dinklage do this?

[–]Okhranka 1 point2 points ago

[–]Dowhead 1 point2 points ago

AMA REQUEST: PETER DINKLAGE

[–]Masamune_X 1 point2 points ago

When people post bible passages on my wall, I tend to leave this as a comment:

http://i.imgur.com/Xx2wP.jpg

It rarely ends well.

[–]Changeling52 4 points5 points ago

Yeah, I like my uncles new wife and my new aunt, but she posted a bunch of comments this past winter about 'keeping the christ in christmas' and I really hate those.

[–]Bazing1980 1 point2 points ago

Christmas gets a whole lot sexier with penetration!

[–]Crownowa 3 points4 points ago

How appropriate after watching 2 episodes of Game of Thrones.

[–]peetah74 3 points4 points ago

fooken lannisters

[–]so_clever 4 points5 points ago

He's the only cool one.

[–]Dovakhim 1 point2 points ago

they always pay their debts

[–]Bewbtube 2 points3 points ago

funny, that's the exact same face I make 97% of the time an /r/atheism post makes it to the front page.

[–]kalimashookdeday 1 point2 points ago

You are so brave OP, so fucking brave.

Pfft.

[–]Elementium 0 points1 point ago

That looks like a very happy group of people..

[–]acosmichippo 0 points1 point ago

Seems like it should be a clip out of Life's Too Short... except it's not Warrick Davis.

[–]TheChosenOne570 0 points1 point ago

which one are you?

[–]gaymerjj 0 points1 point ago

ain't it the truth.....

[–]pyxlated 0 points1 point ago

Dinklage is awesome.

[–]yangx 0 points1 point ago

His hair is fabulous.

[–]johnwhiteroanoke 0 points1 point ago

BUT THE CHILDREN LOVE THE BOOKS!

[–]natto896 0 points1 point ago

Hahaha I feel the same way and I am actually a catholic.

[–]Midgetfinger 0 points1 point ago

He has to be the angriest midget I've ever seen. Is he ever really happy?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

On the very off chance that I was ever at a table at a televised awards event, and I was sitting next to the guy who was being shown on the big screens, I think I'd try to look a little more enthusiastic while clapping for him. Dinklage looks uncomfortable and modest, and the rest of the dudes look like they'd rather be ANYWHERE else.

[–]JimmyBisMe 0 points1 point ago

"There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses." Ezekiel 23:20

[–]Bluesxx 0 points1 point ago

I love that dude

[–]platypuspracticus 0 points1 point ago

Loved him in Death at a Funeral and The Baxter.

[–]Justthelittlethings2 0 points1 point ago

Does anybody else remember this? It just annoyed the hell out of me whenever I saw it on Facebook.

[–]StugotsIII 0 points1 point ago

He needs to guest star on Life's Too Short.

[–]Xjulz23x 0 points1 point ago

Anyone know the story behind this GiF?

[–]knightofmars 0 points1 point ago

Upvote for my favorite GoT show character!

[–]gadjo81 0 points1 point ago

this is hilarious

[–]madusa77 0 points1 point ago

I have never watched GoT but hear nothing but great things about Peter Dinklage and the show.

[–]M_farnsworth 0 points1 point ago

[–]Acora 0 points1 point ago

Peter Dinklage is the shit.

[–]quatro04 0 points1 point ago

everyone check out The Station Agent if you want to see one of Peter Dinklage's best starring roles. It is an under appreciated movie that is truly great...just like Dinklage

[–]Imaku 0 points1 point ago

There is only one god, and his name is death. And there's only one thing we say to death...

[–]mitchsurp 0 points1 point ago

Have Peter Dinklage and Billy Mitchell ever been in the same room?

[–]MasturbatingMonk 0 points1 point ago

I guess I'm lucky to have very few religious Facebook friends then. Oh, and my mum doesn't have a Facebook. Bonus.

[–]17Hongo 0 points1 point ago

Peter Dinklage is a great actor.

[–]jargoon 0 points1 point ago

Lannisters don't post like fools.

[–]ModernFop 0 points1 point ago

You become Peter Dinklage!? Dude. Do you really get head during all those Game of Thrones scenes?

[–]HapDrastic 0 points1 point ago

It takes a big man to do that....

[–]MurderManTX 0 points1 point ago

So you turn into a tiny man and roll your eyes instead of responding to their posts?

[–]Jcock14 0 points1 point ago

[–]Scorpio102982 0 points1 point ago

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

[–]Fehndrix 0 points1 point ago

I really don't mind when people do this. But when you post one as your status and then Like your own post? Be more arrogant, please!

[–]ughwhatwasitagain 0 points1 point ago

If it annoys you so much then you should obviously take them off your friends list since they aren't your friends.

[–]diplomat26 0 points1 point ago

Do you guys know how to post bible passages to facebook?!
