My cat use to lie down under the radiator just like that. He loves the warmth, especially during winter! He also finds the christmas tree the most interesting thing ever. He has broken quite a lot of tree ornaments.

The large surface area is perfect for heat to exchange efficiently because of the vast amount of blood vessels present. Additionally, since the capillaries in the stomach are stretched, blood pressure goes up and the body compensates by slowing its pulse. A great way to relax indeed!
