Looking for an image subreddit with minimal rules? Check out /r/images

A place to share interesting photographs and pictures. Feel free to post your own, but please read the rules first (see below), and note that we are not a catch-all for general images (of screenshots, comics, etc.)

Spoiler code

Please mark spoilers like this:
[text here](/spoiler)

Hover over to read.

Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

I have seen this episode countless times in the last fifteen years, but it wasn't until I saw this still frame that I realised something momentous: that's not an old-timey bicycle. It has three wheels; it's a tricycle.

[–]Fakyall 7 points8 points ago

Holy shit, How can they miss that, unless they did it on purpose.

Clever, very clever...

[–]mattpga 5 points6 points ago

they had to do it, otherwise the internet would have been in an uproar about how the bicycle remained upright while being stationary

[–]E-Step 1 point2 points ago

bicycle remained upright while being stationary

Trackstand?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biY9mhlZPiM

[–]danpascooch 0 points1 point ago

Try that with both wheels straight.

[–]harusp3x 14 points15 points ago

How momentous...

[–]Gentlemann 1 point2 points ago

ASP!

[–]g-e-o-f-f 5 points6 points ago

I'm a fat, middle aged dork. not a hipster at all. Use a PC and Android.

I want a penny-farthing so bad it hurts.

[–]DarylHannahMontana 3 points4 points ago

Good luck being able to actually ride one. It's fucking near impossible.

[–]Austin_Dagle 0 points1 point ago

Not really. I was at the Anne of Green Gables touristy thing on Prince Edward Island a couple of years ago and I saw one that wasn't being used. I was able to hop on and go with little effort.

[–]Danger-Moose 0 points1 point ago

I wanted a pennyfarthing for a long time, and now that dream has been ruined for me.

Seeing a lot of "whatever, it's new to me" when someone points out a repost.

I'd like to once again start to direct the new folks to kleinbl00's comment explaining the currency that is karma.

.

Edit: Lots of the usual blowback in the comments. I'm going to try and explain why I think reposts are bad for everyone, including people who haven't seen them.

Let's stop and think about how content works:

  • It doesn't matter to you at all whether the content is new, because you haven't seen it before.

  • It does matter to many of the people who've seen it, because they just wasted a small chunk of their day that they weren't already planning to waste.

What happens if this post gets mostly ignored as a repost?

If this were ignored because it's a repost, you'd see something else instead, and on average, it's going to be just as cool to you as the repost. The new thing is a lot better for the people who have already seen the repost, though.

Novel content is good for everyone on the site; repetitive content is only good for part. A lot of the time, that part is the majority on any given post, even! Sure, you could just say "go with the majority," but that doesn't work. That same person in the majority on this post already saw another post that someone else didn't, and every piece of repeated content that got a lot of upvotes has been seen by a pretty good chunk of the site. That top post that SimilarImage points out has 500,000 views, for example.

What does that mean? If everyone else upvotes repetitive content, you will see a lot of repetitive content.

"Wait, what?" Reposts take effectively zero effort to find. Do you know what happens when you can get the same score for content that's easy to get and content that's hard to get? You get a fuckload of content that's easy to get. That means that most of the submitted posts will be reposts. I'll give you a guess where this balances out, if we assume that people upvote things they haven't seen, and downvote things they have: 50% of the frontpage would be repetitive.

"But what about good content that I missed?"

Oh, then you want to see the best content that Reddit had to offer earlier! Look at "top", not "what's hot". If you didn't get here from "top", you're interested in new things, just like the rest of Reddit.

[–]IntestinalThrowaway 23 points24 points ago

In other words, "If you missed it (or weren't on Reddit) the first time around you can fuck off. We don't care that you've never seen it before, reposts ruin the imaginary purity of our little club here."

[–]hucknbid 7 points8 points ago

I think what kleinbl00 largely ignores is that there is a tipping point somewhere.

When enough of Reddit has seen something so they no longer upvote it, it doesn't get upvoted.

Sure, it might take a bit longer for that to happen since Reddit has exploded with new users/pageviews, but that doesn't change the basic way in which our Karmaconomy works: once Reddit is sick of it, it goes away.

kleinbl00 just makes the mistake of thinking the he, and he alone, is Reddit. There are a metric fuck ton of people on Reddit, and not everyone thinks like he does.

[–]coreycubed 8 points9 points ago

the basic way in which our Karmaconomy works: once Reddit is sick of it, it goes away.

See, you say that, but...

[–]hucknbid 5 points6 points ago

Haha, I guess the point that I am largely ignoring is Reddit never gets sick of the same shit over, and over, and over again.

Maybe we can fix that with the Reddit User 1.03 bugfix?

[–]tokenpoke 0 points1 point ago

ever think there could be new stuff in the world out there? I dont go to reddit to see the same shit, i go to see new shit.

[–]Brisco_County_III 0 points1 point ago

Same as everyone who browses anything other than "top".

[–]tokenpoke 0 points1 point ago

I always say, "take whatever slice you want but dont talk shit on my slice"

[–]orkid68 0 points1 point ago

Well, that, and also that this photo was pointless the first time around, too. Hurr, those crazy hipsters!

[–]OCedHrt 1 point2 points ago

It does matter to many of the people who've seen it, because they just wasted a small chunk of their day that they weren't already planning to waste.

Who goes on Reddit without planning on wasting time?

[–]shawnaroo 7 points8 points ago

That guy is taking a website consisting mostly of memes and cat pictures way too seriously.

[–]tins1 1 point2 points ago

Not downvoted for the opinion, but definitely downvoted for the "Woe is me everyone is downvoting"

[–]Brisco_County_III 0 points1 point ago*

Hah. Yeah, I figured people wouldn't be interested in an explanation. Go for it.

Edit: I have clarified that intro bit. It's not to avoid the downvotes, it's because I'm tired of replying to people who don't think this through.

[–]CthulhuCompanionCube 2 points3 points ago

Wait, when did Brisco County Jr have a son?

[–]Brisco_County_III 3 points4 points ago

Season 3.

[–]redlion81 4 points5 points ago

Wasn't that scripted by the same people who did the second season of Firefly?

[–]root88 3 points4 points ago

Doesn't upvoting SimilarImage push reposts to the front page?

[–]Brisco_County_III 6 points7 points ago

The post score and the score of the comments are mostly independent.

[–]UMadBreaux 91 points92 points ago

The 1890s are alive in Portland...

[–]pyramid_of_greatness 33 points34 points ago

Remember when kids grew up to be artisan bakers, everyone had home-made haircuts and guys shaved with straight razors? Belts didn't really exist yet, everyone wore suspenders, everyone carved their own ice cubes?

[–]hells_cowbells 14 points15 points ago

And we wore an onion on our belt, because that was the style at the time.

[–]Commander1812 2 points3 points ago

And it wasn't any of them fancy white onions either.

[–]hells_cowbells 3 points4 points ago

No, that's what they wore over in Shelbyville.

[–]JamesTrivettesHat 2 points3 points ago

Remember when people used really long twisty horns as hearing aids?

[–]leafrepublic 4 points5 points ago

For some reason I read this in Abe Simpson's voice...

[–]xrmrct45 2 points3 points ago

and you should, damint

[–]UMadBreaux 1 point2 points ago

I wasn't really alive back then but I've read about it.

[–]DoctorMagazine 10 points11 points ago

I'm pretty sure this is at the Apple Store in Palo Alto.

[–]taggat 2 points3 points ago

Yep University Ave. in Palo Alto you can see the now closed Borders book store in the reflection, and trust me My first job was at the Baskin Robins that used to be next to the Round Table Pizza that street has some crazy people that like to go up and down it.

[–]Copse_Of_Trees 0 points1 point ago

I can confirm this.

Source: Opened the Peet's store that is almost directly across the street from that Apple store.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

Which ain't hipsterville at all.

[–]ralpht 2 points3 points ago

The bike belongs to Martin Kreig. You can read about him and his recovery from a coma here: http://bikeroute.com/

[–]aapiane 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, I can see Borders in the reflection.

[–]xtratraction 0 points1 point ago

it is and the guy who owns that has been going there forever

[–]RattlesnakeJake 1 point2 points ago

[–]monolithfiji 0 points1 point ago

Think you're looking for this one.

[–]mkvgtired -1 points0 points ago

I see those around Chicago all the time too (in hipster areas obviously). Odd how he does not have to lock it up.

[–]unkeljoe 1 point2 points ago

Living in Iberia, this concept of "hipster areas " is foreign, would you care to explain please about this ?

[–]JakePT 21 points22 points ago

Christ, this photo is 8 years old...

[–]shoziku 6 points7 points ago

It's getting more ironic as it ages.

[–]HurrDurrrr3 1 point2 points ago

Could of mistaken it for a fruit store 100 years ago.

[–]madworld 170 points171 points ago

Yes... it says that you are a reposter.

[–]l33tb3rt 27 points28 points ago

But but but, this repost plays to reddits hatred of hipsters!

[–]Lillipout 12 points13 points ago

I thought it played to reddit's hatred of the penny-farthing.

[–]l33tb3rt 9 points10 points ago

Don't you ever question reddit's love of penny-farthing.

[–]PDK01 5 points6 points ago

Mocking hipsters used to be funny.

[–]SweetNeo85 6 points7 points ago

NOOOOOOO NOT THAT! THAT IS TERRIBLE AND TOTALLY INCONVENIENCES YOU!

[–]madworld -2 points-1 points ago

I didn't say that. I'm the one who took the effort. You're now tagged as "Puts Words In Mouth" and in teal, my least favorite color.

[–]temeculasunrise 7 points8 points ago

You sure showed him!

[–]madworld 4 points5 points ago

yep... now you're labeled "Doesn't quite get the joke". But, just to be fair, I didn't use teal.

[–]dejerik 2 points3 points ago

It's sad people are downvoting you, I don't think they know you're joking.

[–]madworld 1 point2 points ago

It's ok dejerik... My ultimate goal is to amuse myself, which doesn't include internet points. You're now labeled as "Knows I'm Joking" in a nice eggplant background.

[–]dejerik 1 point2 points ago

that's nice! Don't worry buddy you amused me

[–]rab777hp 5 points6 points ago

I've never seen it before...

[–]travis- 11 points12 points ago

It's okay, people complain about reposts instead of downvoting or hiding the article like those features were originally intended for. Overtime Reddit has grown and people seem to think that by calling out a repost in the comment they will stop. They won't, because there are more people who upvoted this then downvoted.

[–]gordonronco 6 points7 points ago

that people in Palo Alto are fucking weird? yes, thats true

[–]mrwawkr 0 points1 point ago

I love that I can go on the internet and find some random comment that completely agrees with what I've learned in this weird ass town

[–]gordonronco 0 points1 point ago

worked there for 3.5 years, theres a reason i dont go back

[–]G8r 30 points31 points ago

It says to me that if I bought an impractical, almost-unrideable bike, I wouldn't have to chain it.

[–]rab777hp 2 points3 points ago

Kinda like MacBook Air users who buy Kensington locks?

[–]wrongsideofthewire 11 points12 points ago

[–]DWells55 0 points1 point ago

They're actually one of the best options in the ultraportable segment, but hey, blind Apple hate is more fun.

[–]lCt 58 points59 points ago

What is a hipster. I'll take thing's Reddit circlejerks about for 1,000.

[–]MiloMuggins 29 points30 points ago

Don't forget inappropriate apostrophes.

[–]whydoubleprime 5 points6 points ago

oh! and its the daily double!

[–]Ultmast 10 points11 points ago

*it's

[–]swaggasaurus 2 points3 points ago

PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW

[–]CloseTalker 0 points1 point ago

Wager it all!

[–]Aksama 0 points1 point ago

FTFY Apostrophe's

[–]FUDGESICLES 17 points18 points ago

I've wanted a pennyfarthing for years, but they're just too expensive to justify.

[–]soothfast[!] 1 point2 points ago

aka "the ordinary". Memories of The Prisoner!

[–]Strideo 0 points1 point ago

Patrick Mcgoohan wanted a pennyfarthing?

[–]soothfast[!] 0 points1 point ago

No, but everyone rode about on pennyfarthings in the prisoner. Dressed in capes and wearing caps set at a jaunty angle.

[–]sledsbehave 6 points7 points ago

it speaks to generalizations

[–]d0ct0rd0ct0r 45 points46 points ago

Ok. I want you to look me in the eye and tell me that you wouldn't ride that bicycle. That is an amazing bicycle.

[–]Hidemesometime 1 point2 points ago

I honestly don't think that I could. It would hurt me.

[–]plateoshrimp 20 points21 points ago

It says that he probably gets more exercise than you OP.

[–]Wiskeyjac 4 points5 points ago

"Be seeing you?"

[–]RumpleForeSkin72 4 points5 points ago*

Who is number One?

  • You are number Six
  • You are, number Six

The A comma changes EVERYTHING

edit: for clarity

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

I prefer:

Let's eat, grandpa!

Let's eat grandpa!

[–]itchy_scratchy_tasty 1 point2 points ago

I am not a number, I AM A FREE MAN!

[–]Wiskeyjac 1 point2 points ago

Wow, I'd never thought of it that way. Kind of an echo of Number Six's comment at the end of the Shattered Visage graphic novel: "Does the presence of Number Two require the existence of Number One?"

[–]Wiskeyjac 1 point2 points ago

Unfortunately, at least for the 1967 intro, I just can't hear the comma in the audio of Number 2's voice.

(Why yes, I did check, why do you ask?)

[–]RumpleForeSkin72 0 points1 point ago

I understand. I edited the post for clarity, I never meant to insinuate that it was there, only that, with one being there, it becomes a slightly different story. Like watching Fight Club for the second time.

[–]tyrroi 4 points5 points ago

Reddit just fucking died. All of these comments prove that Reddit users are the people we used to hate. Good fucking bye.

[–]hells_cowbells 0 points1 point ago

Well...bye!

[–]supermegafauna 0 points1 point ago

Cool farewell to the troops, bro.

[–]blackinthmiddle 16 points17 points ago

Yes, it says

DING, DING, DING, DING, DING, TIME FOR ANOTHER REDDIT CIRCLEJERK! WE HAVEN'T BASHED APPLE ALL DAY!!! LET'S GOOOOO!!!!

Edit: Is that a White iMac? I'm guessing this photo has to be at least, what, 5 years old?

[–]dickdarlington 7 points8 points ago

It's an iMac G5 without an iSight camera, alongside an easel advertising Tiger and a banner for iLife '05. Based upon that, the picture was taken somewhere between April 2005 - September 2005 as the iMac G5 got upgraded with the iSight camera that fall.

Fuck, what am I doing with my life?

[–]ELBdelorean 1 point2 points ago

There's also a Borders sign reflected in the glass.

[–]TheNecromancer 6 points7 points ago

I saw this picture before it was cool. As in, all the other times it was posted.

[–]supermegafauna 2 points3 points ago

This speaks volumes.

[–]shozk 3 points4 points ago

[–]rasputin777 5 points6 points ago

Apple sells millions of devices. Calling someone a hipster for using one is stupid.

Most hipsters I know use either Android or some 20 year old Nokia brick.

[–]majorkev 22 points23 points ago

I may not be a hipster, but I would ride the shit out of that bike.

[–]nick686 6 points7 points ago

it's the atari of bikes. pre-vector graphics atari. none of that battlezone atari.

[–]mrsharlot 3 points4 points ago

Don't worry, I would too.

[–]Strideo 0 points1 point ago

I'd love to try one out but for every day street riding I'd be worried about hitting a pothole and taking a header.

[–]CloseTalker 1 point2 points ago

Also, I've always figured they would be absolute hell on any sort of grade. The gearing doesn't look particularly forgiving.

[–]DarylHannahMontana 0 points1 point ago

Have you ever tried riding a penny farthing? It's harder than it looks.

I've ridden one a total of maybe 200 yards. If I'm honest with myself, it was pretty unsuccessful, eventually landing me on the top of a (parked) car.

I ride regular bikes all the time, and was totally sober at the time, FWIW.

[–]teeker95 0 points1 point ago

Oops, you're a hipster now! You admitted to liking something everybody else doesn't. You're doomed. DOOMED! Better go start finding some indie bands you like....

[–]CarpeNivem 51 points52 points ago

Could someone explain to me why it's okay to judgmental now, but not other times?

So someone likes something you don't. So fucking what.

[–]fswmacguy 47 points48 points ago

Welcome to Reddit! Where everything's a circlejerk and the points don't matter.

[–]bautron 5 points6 points ago

There's a double standardised hivemind mentality. Meaning people post what the general community would like in order to get upvotes, hindering individual thinking and logic.

[–]poo-poo 0 points1 point ago

Hivemind fallacy. Implying that a hive mind actually exists.

[–]casualbattery 8 points9 points ago

MEME COMMENT!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

BAD NOVELTY ACCOUNT! (only_posts_asdfjwiofwjpe)

[–]db2 1 point2 points ago

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows you flame
And the posts are all the same

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

Judgy hypocrisy is the very foundation of Reddit. My next favorite, second in line only to "WHAT A FUCKIN TARD HIPSTER" > "DON'T JUDGE ME BRO!" is the volume of screen grabs eluding to someone's windows crash along side a constant barrage of links and comments about how over priced and over hyped apple products are. So the the software equivalente of your moral high ground is weak enough to post its failure day in and day out eh? OK Reddit. Sounds good.

[–]mkvgtired 8 points9 points ago

So someone likes something you don't. So fucking what.

No one is trying to stop him from riding it, but you can still think it is funny or odd.

For example when my grandma was obese she enjoyed wearing neon colored spandex when she was at home. We respected her choice, but would still have to convince ourselves that what we just saw wasnt a radioactive rhinoceros that just darted across the room.

Kudos to her though, no longer fat and kicked the spandex habit.

[–]shozk 3 points4 points ago

[–]wheatfields 2 points3 points ago

Don't you see? That is what a hipster is. Anyone who does something you don't like THEY ARE SUCH HIPSTERS! While in reality almost no one is a self identified hipster.

[–]CarpeNivem 2 points3 points ago

...almost no one is a self identified hipster.

Oh, I'm sure some are. But that aside, what I don't understand is why hating hipsters seems to be so much more accepted than hating hippies, preppies, goths, skaters, whatever. It seems like insulting most other fashion decisions is generally regarded as rude, even if those people do have the audacity to be different. Except hipsters. For them, the otherwise agreeable rule of "to each their own" seems to no longer apply.

And to be clear, I think they look like tools too. I just don't understand why that's any or more less acceptable than saying skinheads look like tools. I mean, I guess because the latter could beat you up, but I feel like that's not really a good reason.

To clarify even further, I'm not sure which group I'm in, but it's probably closer to preppy than anything else. And I mention this only to say, don't assume that just because I'm a hipster apologist, it must mean I'm a hipster. I'm actually just an apologist in general.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points ago

I don't get why people think only 'hipsters' buy Apple. everyone uses apple.

[–]mrimperfect 2 points3 points ago

"How much is that Macbook Pro?"

"Oh, about a penny farthing."

[–]Zooperman 2 points3 points ago

i dont get it

[–]theElegantWorm 2 points3 points ago

penny farthings are awesome! apple is NOT.

[–]reddell[!] 2 points3 points ago

If you make a lot of assumptions, yes. But that really says more about you than anything.

[–]AssMolasses 2 points3 points ago

Funny, because if this picture had been taken in a park rather than in front of an Apple store, everyone would be saying "THAT GUY IS AWESOME"

[–]zaurav 2 points3 points ago

We should stop hating on harmless hipsters who only want to be different and focus our collective attention on the real scumbags: the corporations and their bought out politicians who are ruining the world economy.

[–]rosstronica 5 points6 points ago

Penny-farthing is not a crime.

[–]emohipster 2 points3 points ago

I love how everyone on reddit creams over old consoles and plays retro games on emulators, but an old timer bike in front of an apple store? My god, release the hounds!

[–]kirschbaum 8 points9 points ago

fuck you op

[–]ShitLipsMcGee 1 point2 points ago

My bicycle masters boardwalk and quagmire with aplomb. Those that doubt me... suck cock by choice.

[–]dathom 0 points1 point ago

So good: Link

[–]gentlemandinosaur 1 point2 points ago

Like I said the last couple of times this was posted. People like to have fun, and frankly a Penny Farthing is fun to ride. Just not downhill... it is the scariest thing ever.

[–]AllDesperadoStation 1 point2 points ago

It does? What does it say? Seriously.

[–]ulrikft 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, about bad lenses with lots of CA.

[–]BShears 1 point2 points ago

It's also from about 5 years ago.

[–]BarelyReal[!] 1 point2 points ago

Mundane if you're from the Red universe.

[–]innerspaceboy 1 point2 points ago

Insert Patrick McGoohan reference here.

[–]Number60000 1 point2 points ago

You know Apple stores do seem to share that lava lamp styling (if a bit more color free) of the administration buildings in the Village. And you do get a sense that you will get smothered by a defense orb if you try to leave without booking an apointment.

'What do you want???' -'your money, your money...' 'You won't get it!!!' -'Hahahahahahahaha'

[–]innerspaceboy 1 point2 points ago

I applaud both your comment and your username. I shall spin WEBA 066 in your honor this eve.

[–]Number60000 0 points1 point ago

Thanks, wish I was there! I choose Number60000 as Number6 was already taken...

[–]Sourdoire 1 point2 points ago

I have a penny farthing... I love it.

[–]LNMagic 1 point2 points ago

I bet those machines cost a pretty penny-farthing.

[–]metallica3790 1 point2 points ago

If he didn't buy Apple products, he'd probably have enough money to buy a car.

[–]baracudaboy 1 point2 points ago

People who use computers ride cool bikes?

[–]-JS- 1 point2 points ago

Oh don't act like you wouldn't wanna ride one of those and play with iPads...

[–]amade183 8 points9 points ago

Right, because the largest company in the world makes money from hipsters.

[–]Mein_Tarnaccount 10 points11 points ago

Apple sold more than 150 million iOS devices last year alone. Calling them all hipsters is depressingly lame.

[–]Strideo 4 points5 points ago

ExxonMobil?

[–]curtquarquesso 1 point2 points ago

The idea that only hipsters buy Apple products is ridiculous. Everyone and their aunt owns an iPhone nowadays. True hipsters buy this phone: https://www.johnsphones.com/

[–]doot_doot 7 points8 points ago

it's funny because apple dumb op smart

[–]whitmell 3 points4 points ago

actually that's not accurate at all

[–]schlitz91 1 point2 points ago

why no leather bike helmet? hey everybody, this guys a phoney!

[–]darthbob 1 point2 points ago

I believe this was taken at the Mac Store in Portland near Lloyd Center.

So...yeah, this makes sense.

[–]mahurtama 1 point2 points ago

Incorrect sir!

[–]darthbob 0 points1 point ago

Really? Oh okay.

It really looks like it though, and I know I've seen those turn of the century cycle contraptions before in town.

[–]mahurtama 1 point2 points ago

Heh, I dig. You can see the reflection of a Border's in the window, which is located across the street from the Palo Alto Apple store. Also, that guy is always around downtown and he's not too friendly.

[–]darthbob 2 points3 points ago

I don't what it is about those bikes, but man they turn people into douches.

The guy in Portland with this just thinks he owns the damn road lol

[–]mahurtama 0 points1 point ago

I know right? You would think that those would be anti-douche producing vehicles.

[–]timrbrady 1 point2 points ago

Because generalizations!

[–]jimx117 1 point2 points ago

Should've been taken with Instagram!

NEEDS MORE SEPIA

[–]xudoxis 0 points1 point ago

Free Bike!

[–]trevdak2 0 points1 point ago

If you're going to ride that bike, you need a suit, tie, and bowler hat.

[–]crazyguns 0 points1 point ago

I'd just put him on mute.

[–]reagan2016 0 points1 point ago

So, uh, you don't like the old-time bikes, huh?

[–]j00zt1n 0 points1 point ago

Based on the way the store is laid out (white kidney-style tables, products on display, OS X Tiger signage in the doorway), this picture was taken seven years ago.

[–]wheatfields 0 points1 point ago

lol Palo Alto

[–]chemicalex 0 points1 point ago

upvote for palo alto

[–]RainbowGirl321 0 points1 point ago

The bike reminds me of jackass.

[–]homelessnesses 0 points1 point ago

As a bicycle mechanic I can only say. WHY THE FUCK DID YOU NOT LOCK UP THIS BICYCLE.

[–]StoryGopher 0 points1 point ago

This should be cross posted to /r/pennyfarthing.

[–]JamesTrivettesHat 0 points1 point ago

This made me think of Jackass 2 and Ryan Dunn. I make a sad.

[–]propagated 0 points1 point ago

Come to New Haven CT. We have yale hipsters riding these things everywhere, and our apple store just opened last year! What more could you want!?

[–]snlhopeful 0 points1 point ago

Old as hell.

[–]Kegli 0 points1 point ago

It spoke the first volume before you even knew volumes.

[–]Im_erving 0 points1 point ago

hey thats in palo alto!

[–]shortbusoneohone 0 points1 point ago

Reminds me of Albert Hofmann. Look up Hofmann's letter to Steve Jobs; it's pretty incredible.

[–]cleverquack 0 points1 point ago

Palo Alto CA

[–]Jamiroquo 0 points1 point ago

oh shit! hipster joke. lol.

[–]Allier_Here 0 points1 point ago

I'm certainly not one to defend Apple, or any corporation really (they're all evil anyway, right?), but all this image actually says is that either this person likes old bikes, or [and this is more likely] he is just some pretentious asshole that is a walking contradiction just like the rest of us. Including myself.

[–]acemnorsuvwxz 0 points1 point ago

Shouldn't a hipster use an Amiga or an Apple II?

[–]FishermansAtlas 0 points1 point ago

Oh great another thread about how reddit hates hipsters.

[–]Gavalar 0 points1 point ago

It speaks hipster to me

[–]archpope 0 points1 point ago

I think the picture needs a Lomo filter.

[–]robertolycus 0 points1 point ago

A sinking feeling, like whenever i hear about round the block lineups for new apple products.

[–]gdubbs94 0 points1 point ago

i liked the context in which you used "volumes" in the title. good job.

[–]pabloneruda 0 points1 point ago

That's the downtown SF location. Only other possibility could have been Portland, but I think it's befitting.
