I just mute too, but it is still annoying. Nothing like somebody getting placed on your team, screaming a bunch, then making you stop and find cover to hide behind so you can bring up the menu to mute him from, meanwhile an enemy sneaks up on you and kills you, all because you are trying to mute a shrieking teenager so you can focus.

That's kind of a part of gaming. People are assholes in games, but I would rather have a raging asshole on my team than someone who stays silent and quits. I guess it depends on what game it is too though.

It is only part of gaming if you allow it to be. People that quit often do because some ass keeps screaming into his mic. There are plenty of folkes out there that don't rage, but want to have fun. I encourage you to seek out gamers to interact and play with that want to enjoy the game, instead of those that feel like they want to rage for the sake of raging. You'll likely have more fun.

As for those that need to rage, I suggest a punching bag and guided meditation. You don't have to be spiritual for the benefits of focus and healthy breathing that you can gain from meditating.

I'm the most mellow guy in the world (IRL). If I'm having a string of bad luck in a game (which I'll, of course, attribute to everyone hacking), I just quit the game and go do something else. I assume we're talking about big MP games where a loss of a player isn't an issue, with someone quickly cycled in their place.

Even funnier -- and I'd don't know what meme pic works -- is when you accidentally grenade or do a B52 run on your own team, quit in shame, and then rejoin the same server.

I can only think about rage-quitting in the context of LoL now, because in most other games I've played someone leaving isn't an instant loss. This is also the reason why this generic GIF post getting this much popularity on the acts of someone as douchebagitty as a rage quitter makes me realize how terrible /r/gaming is.

you know what i do before i quit? like, uncontrollably, and not really on purpose? i yell at the game about how i'm going to quit. i actually SAY -- in my house, with my WIFE in it -- "i swear to god, i will turn you off. i will turn off the fucking console. i will fucking turn you off and never play you again." out loud. repeatedly, and again, not even totally consciously. like, that's where my brain goes: i'm trying to make a game be easier by threatening what i believe counts as mortal force against it.

I don't think I've ever rage quit a game, I've quit out of games due to balance or lag but thats about it. Maybe its just pc's vote kick next map or maybe its the ability to choose servers too, maybe I'm looking back thru rose tinted glasses too but I'm almost 100% certain that even if I'm getting my ass handed to me I will stay till the map is over, after all, you don't get better by playing people who are worse then you.
