A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports).

"Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

Posting Rules

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No "general" URL shorteners (bitly, tinyurl, etc). Single-site URL shorteners (such as youtu.be or fav.me) are allowed.

  • No game or product giveaway of any kind

  • NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:
    [X Kills Y](/spoiler)
    Result: X Kills Y.

  • To mark a spoiler as relevant to a specific game/topic, use the alternate formatting:
    [Player 1 wins](/spoiler "Pong")
    Result:
    Player 1 wins

  • Report posts containing spoilers not using the above method

  • Don't post users' personal information.

My, how has age ruined what was once an innocent victory dance.

[–]AeroCrazed92 16 points17 points ago

I didn't notice anything questionable about it until I read this comment.

You have forever changed the way I look at this dance...ಠ_ಠ

[–]negativeinfinity 2 points3 points ago

That second phase is him framing his crotch...I'd always thought he was flexing his biceps.

[–]PrinceofSpades 124 points125 points ago

Anyone else remember trying to mimic this high in front of their friends as a small child when they were playing it even though they were sitting down?

[–]PocketRench[S] 40 points41 points ago

yes! oh my god yes ha

[–]kidslapper 18 points19 points ago

Holy crap, my parents hated it!

[–]extra_23 9 points10 points ago

I felt like such a dork afterwards too.

[–]evilravioli 3 points4 points ago

Thank god, I'm not alone. School dances were unappreciative, though.

[–]samus5678 5 points6 points ago

Best fucked childhood memory ever.

[–]Wyzack 1 point2 points ago

I would always dance it when i was young and my mom played the game.

[–]EDSire10 0 points1 point ago

To be honest.. I brought out my old PS1 over winter break, played and beat Crash Bandicoot 2.. and after I completed it I did that dance...

[–]Bishopkilljoy 35 points36 points ago

I remember when you could get a demo for the PS1 of the first game if you bought a pizza

[–]GoddamnMuffinMan 28 points29 points ago

I vaguely remember this as part of a Pizza Hut promotion. Wasn't it a demo disc that also had Spyro, Tomb Raider, Cool Boarders, etc. on it?

[–]Bishopkilljoy 6 points7 points ago

Ye i believe so

[–]mastercheef 4 points5 points ago

That disc was with the second level from crash 2, that disc was loaded with sequels (tomb raider 2, armored core 2, and cool boarders 2). the pizza disc was the one with syphon filter and midievel iirc, and that one was actually the underwater level from the first warp room in crash 3. I dont recalla demo disc that had the first one on it though...

[–]BlackenedVenom 1 point2 points ago

Yesssssssss this sparks memories from my childhood...Armored Core 2 was the most intriguing game to my 7 year old brain

[–]Dexiro 1 point2 points ago

They put one of the underwater levels on a demo disc? :P Noone likes underwater levels.

[–]mastercheef 1 point2 points ago

you got to use this sweet underwater jet ski like thing that shot torpedoes for like half the level. I'd love a donkey kong underwater level that let you ride the swordfish for most of the level.

[–]Dexiro 2 points3 points ago

Egypt levels were the best ;3

[–]mastercheef 0 points1 point ago

Lets not kid ourselves, that whole game is magnificent. So many different levels to play. Same goes for all of the first three Crash Bandicoot games

[–]MixMastaShizz 2 points3 points ago

So that's why I have that demo disc. It's been so long!

[–]rjaspa 5 points6 points ago

Hence why I had all these demos. They weren't short demos either. That Tomb Raider one was the entire first level, which let's face it, was all anyone remembers from the game.

[–]Popo5525 1 point2 points ago

Waitwaitwait... there was more than just that one level?!

[–]TORFdot0 1 point2 points ago

that bear scared me every freakin time

[–]Dustmuffins 2 points3 points ago

Treasures of the deep... Awesome...

OOH, and armored core too!

[–]thebluegod 2 points3 points ago

Man that must've been the demo disc of the gods. All those games are amazing.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I used to love demo discs in the PS1 era. They always had amazing games on them.

[–]thebluegod 0 points1 point ago

I had one that had Tekken 3, Tomb Raider, and some other random games. I put spent sooo many hours playing Tekken, and there were only 2 characters available! I finally got the game a few years later but I missed the cool demo disc music haha.

[–]SlurmsMackenzie92 0 points1 point ago

Pizza hut also had a promotion where you could get either Battlefield 2, the Sims 2 or some other EA game for free if you bought like 3 large pizzas, garlic bread and a coke. At least they did that in Australia, not sure about the rest of the world

[–]EpicFishFingers 0 points1 point ago

Holy shit I still have that demo somewhere

I also remember one with lots of characters posing on the front, set against black, on the sleeve for the CD. Dunno if that's the same one or not though

Which one had the Abe's Oddysey demo on?

[–]AdjutantStormy 10 points11 points ago

Still have my copy to this day.

[–]Bishopkilljoy 3 points4 points ago

Ha Nice! I was a little kid when that happened, but back then Crash Bandicoot was the shit I friking loved those games! The other game of choice was Apocalypse

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points ago

awww yeaaa I remember that shit

[–]Avien 19 points20 points ago

All the reddit karma to the man, or woman, who uploads themselves doing this dance.

[–]popwhatpopwhat[!] 120 points121 points ago

[–]Avien 9 points10 points ago

That was epic. Thank you for that.

[–]nateguy 5 points6 points ago

I like how you did the dance, and have 1 Karma for it. Let me help you with that.

[–]ecnad 3 points4 points ago

and popwhatpopwhat delivers

[–]debee1jp 1 point2 points ago

I like how you had a perfectly straight face the entire time.

[–]laluna130 2 points3 points ago

Wow...

[–]NegimaSonic 1 point2 points ago

Cheers man!

[–]Akiba89 0 points1 point ago

oh dear.. .this is amazing

[–]PocketRench[S] 1 point2 points ago

yes

[–]Naxza 1 point2 points ago

I would, but I need a microSD card. Heck, I'm not even certain that this camera works- Goodwill loot, yeah?

I'm just gonna throw it out there that I have probably done this dance within the year. The odd looks I get are priceless.

[–]rakantae 9 points10 points ago

[–]RC_Matthias 6 points7 points ago

I just cried a little inside my mouth...

[–]Mr_Grizzles 1 point2 points ago

Does that mean you salivated in wonderment or cried so hard you broke your tear ducts?

[–]Ushankaclock 1 point2 points ago

He means his tears were ejected into his mouth, like a crocodile.

[–]tattlerat 45 points46 points ago

On the dance floor this move works 60% of the time, 100% of the time.

[–]ninjapro 5 points6 points ago

I actually really, really want to try this now.

[–]CakeSmasher 2 points3 points ago

DO THE BANDICOOT! SWING YOUR ARMS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, TAKE ONE STEP, AND THE MARIO BANDICOOT!

That said, mario bros credits were awesome.

[–]tattlerat 2 points3 points ago

Everybody walk the dinosaur...

[–]BoreasBlack 29 points30 points ago

Still looks better than Kinect Star Wars.

[–]someguyinahat 8 points9 points ago

Oh yeah? Watch again and allow me to ruin it for you.

Force push, Force push, Jetpack, Jetpack, The Speeder, Mind Trick, turn around, Solo Pose.

[–]CJ_Guns 33 points34 points ago*

Crash's 1st place podium pose in CTR.

[–]Theditor 33 points34 points ago

It was in plenty of Crash Games.

[–]CJ_Guns 10 points11 points ago

True. I guess I just identified it with that because of how much I played CTR...a hell of a lot.

Also, RIP Crash Bandicoot. It would be great if Naughty Dog came back to develop a new one since they're finished with Uncharted.

[–]Uber-Mensch 3 points4 points ago

I would pay so much just to see a remastered version of CTR. (none of the CNK rubbish)

[–]CJ_Guns 11 points12 points ago

What needs to happen:

They remake CTR a la Halo: Anniversary. Use the same engine and add a graphical layer over it. The physics and conventions of the engine should not be changed, they are perfect. Add in 4+ new tracks, I would pay full retail.

[–]trentkamehameha 1 point2 points ago

This. So. So. Much. The engine does not need a single change. It's perfect.

[–]Uber-Mensch 0 points1 point ago

What I have been thinking for years, it's perfect as it is but would be ideal if it had a slight upgrade.

[–]DeadeyeDuncan 0 points1 point ago

meh, still play it every now and then, it holds up pretty damn well, and still so much fun

[–]CJ_Guns 0 points1 point ago

I'm in college (for another month at least) and every day my house plays a full circuit after classes, ending with a 7-lap Coco Park. Sewer Speedway is the favorite track, both my friend and I are fractions of a second off world record lap times. (Twin Galaxies, non-Saffi fire)

[–]Dexiro 0 points1 point ago

I'd rather see a sequel, but ofc with the same physics and maybe a few of the old tracks :D

I say that because I think the old game has aged perfectly well, I still play it all the time. Would love to see plenty of new content though, new tracks and weapons :3

Actually what if they remade the first game but added a second track for each theme! That'd be awesome.

[–]ferb12321 0 points1 point ago

naughty dog and insomniac sold out crash and spryo franchises respectively to universal studios to receive funding for better development materials from the start of both of their franchises. universal studios owns the franchises, they can choose who develops them. naughty dog cannot just step in and create a remake without being sued.

TLDR; naughty dog and insomniac's ps1 franchises are sellouts to universal studios, who can choose who gets to develop them, and universal is tied to viacom, therefore universal is going to try to have developers under the viacom business develop future crash games to make the most profit.

[–]mastercheef 3 points4 points ago

It was also the dance he would do when he acquired a gem in crash 2 and 3

[–]thestergin 6 points7 points ago

YES! Oh man... I haven't seen that dance in over a decade! Good times!

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points ago

Him turning around and stopping so suddenly just makes it funnier :D

[–]Jim777PS3 11 points12 points ago

If i finished a level and got the gem you bet your sweet ass stood up and did this dance

[–]Vakieh 12 points13 points ago

Australian here - bandicoots do NOT look or act like this.

They are also less than appreciative when you toss apple-like fruit at them.

[–]NoctisIncendia 2 points3 points ago

As a bandicoot, I can confirm this.

[–]Theqman24 3 points4 points ago

damn, haven't played this game in months. I remember being a kid and playing Crash and Spryo on the PS1.

[–]Brybo 1 point2 points ago

I remember waking up early saturday mornings and playing those games as well, that was so much fun.

[–]truegrit2288 4 points5 points ago

Playing CTR as we speak!

[–]bored_engineer 3 points4 points ago

I replay that game to 100% every year or so along with spyro. So glad the playstation held up over this many years.

[–]agentpatsy 1 point2 points ago

Pretty much this. That reminds me to go beat Spyro 1.

[–]DeadeyeDuncan 1 point2 points ago

its weird that, my PS1 is nigh on indestructible, but my PS2 has been in a slow decline, it no longer plays DVDs and eats PS1 discs (ruined a perfectly good MGS disc :( )

[–]fascist_panties 15 points16 points ago

oh god I just nostalgia'd all over my keyboard how do I clean this

[–]worm_bagged 0 points1 point ago

Santorum

[–]casual_complimenter 4 points5 points ago

Why were you sitting on your keyboard?

[–]golfer_ninja 8 points9 points ago

holy shit childhood memory incoming.

My parents divorced when I was seven, leaving me with my mom. I would visit my dad on weekends and play this game with him. We both would dance this fucking dance like the dorks we were/are.

Few years down the road, I had a sudden clarity that my mom was a bitch, so I moved in with my dad and that's the first fucking thing we did.

Ah love you dad.

[–]bigmeech 3 points4 points ago

There was this awkward kid in elementary and middle school that would do the crash bandicoot dance and we would laugh and laugh.

[–]Keystolope 3 points4 points ago

Crash Bandicoot Warped was the best game on the PS1. Hands down.

[–]Moclovevets 0 points1 point ago

Crash Bandicoot 2 was better, warped was to easy, 1 was to hard.

[–]quizical_llama 6 points7 points ago

brings back such good memories.

[–]NOSTALGIC_BOMB 2 points3 points ago

Remember when this series was good on PSOne? Before Sierra took over and then after that Activision dropping it when Sierra merged with Vivendi and they bought Activision? Simpler times.

[–]DiagonalVII 5 points6 points ago

[–]golfer_ninja 2 points3 points ago

OOH DAH BAH GAH

[–]Kichimite 0 points1 point ago

HOO BA GAH!

[–]kragmoor 2 points3 points ago

[–]FrozenBananaMan 0 points1 point ago

Maybe it's the exhaustion, maybe it's the tiny tickling legs of the centipede on my head...

But this picture made me laugh-the-fuck-out loud.

[–]stoptalkingplease 1 point2 points ago

I'd stop the game just to watch him dance.

[–]doomsdaywatch 1 point2 points ago

Never got past Ripper Roo in Bandicoot 2...although I was only six...It is time to bust out the good ol' PSone and relive childhood memories =')

[–]whereamiwhereami 1 point2 points ago

when I was watching this I could hear the sounds that his feet and thrusting made

[–]rocketman0739 1 point2 points ago

Did you know that bandicoots are real animals?

[–]S0cky 0 points1 point ago

[–]rocketman0739 0 points1 point ago

yes, well, they don't wear jeans and bike gloves either

[–]morlakai 1 point2 points ago

crash bandicoot warped for ps1 my personal favorite <3

[–]atvb12 1 point2 points ago

godamn crash team racing is a great game, still play it sometimes

[–]zjbrickbrick 1 point2 points ago

I always thought this was a cross between Dx's signature Suck It and the Goonies Truffle Shuffle..

[–]mattbirwin12 1 point2 points ago

i wish i could upvote this so many times. I have been having the biggest urge to play some crash bandicoot. favorite game of all time

[–]Gonzo89 1 point2 points ago

The best game of my childhood. It's insane to see how far Naughty Dog has come from crash to uncharted 3.

[–]TORFdot0 1 point2 points ago

Crash Team Racing is the only video game to date I can get my gf to play. Real men use crash, you whiney noobs use Dingodile or tiny or some heavy lamer

[–]DeadeyeDuncan 1 point2 points ago

Why is it that people (in real non-reddit life) always go on about the mario games, but no one ever talks about the Crash series, which imho is far superior

[–]ItMightBeCody 2 points3 points ago

[–]Microfuzz 1 point2 points ago

What is this, 1996???

[–]GamerKT 1 point2 points ago

Mah nigga.

[–]sashimi_taco 0 points1 point ago

No, please don't.

[–]hide13 0 points1 point ago

I can still sing that song in Japanese!

[–]Miss_Marvel 1 point2 points ago

[–]pinkrevolver 0 points1 point ago

I would like a guy to come up to me and do that dance. Hahaha

[–]sol7117 0 points1 point ago

giggity

[–]Darth_Phrakk 0 points1 point ago

I always used him in CTR so I could see him dance when I won.

[–]laluna130 1 point2 points ago

And of course because his foot sticks out when you jump.

[–]Ralph_Baconader 0 points1 point ago

i just imagine the aku aku mask in the background chanting "UBALAGA" or whatever the fuck it says

[–]standupstanddown 0 points1 point ago

I love crash :D. Too bad Naughty Dog stopped doing them and the other studios dropped the ball so bad. Similar thing happened to Spyro IIRC.

[–]crossdl 0 points1 point ago

I kid you not, I have a victory dance that's eerily similar to this...

[–]JonnyBigBoss 0 points1 point ago

I find it funny whenever I play Uncharted I notice that the characters raise their eyebrows just like Crash. Naughty Dog rock!

[–]electriophile 0 points1 point ago

My brother and I would jump up and dance asking every time we found a gem.

Also, you can download this game for the ps3, if anyone wants to revisit childhood.

[–]jukeefe 0 points1 point ago

Where do you think LMFAO got their inspiration?

[–]lewok 0 points1 point ago

and this my fellow Redditors, is called wonderful childhood nostalgia

[–]ooo_shiny 0 points1 point ago

I'm wondering how many people had no idea that Bandicoots existed before they heard of Crash Bandicoot. I wonder the same about Taz being peoples first introduction to Tasmanian Devils and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger being their introduction to Thylacines. For me being originally from Tasmania I knew of all 3 from seeing stuffed ones at the local Museum back in the 80's (although I remember watching a lot of Taz when I was younger).

Also makes me wonder if people know of Quolls and Bilbies and other cute Australian animals (I know reddit knows lots about the scary animals of Australia).

[–]SeduceMyMoose 0 points1 point ago

AAAAWWWWW SHIT! THIS WAS MY CHILD HOOD MAN AIN'T NOBODY STEP UP TO CRASH BANDICOOT IN A DANCE BATTLE AND WIN!

[–]agentpatsy 0 points1 point ago

And this immediately played in my head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byXAe0XNlfg

[–]Uber-Mensch 0 points1 point ago

Loved Crash Bandicoot! My favourite game of all time is still Crash Team Racing.

[–]togame 0 points1 point ago

I was listening to Thriller when I clicked on this and pretty much laughed for a solid two minutes.

[–]the_nils 0 points1 point ago

I loved dancing with Crash when I was small!

[–]djyxu 0 points1 point ago

Do those moves work when I'm with a lady friend?!?!?!

[–]laura_le_rawr 0 points1 point ago

Is it weird that I can hear it too?

[–]MisterImperial 0 points1 point ago

that is to fast :o but i love this dance, it was my first video game <3

[–]Qwixzo 0 points1 point ago

I did whenever i won a race of ctr. And also when i played yatzee with my uncle and dad, everytime i threw a yatzee i would do this dance.

this is the most epic dance ever!

[–]Da3dalus42 0 points1 point ago

Play the flute, go down the chute, everybody walk the bandicoot.

[–]pho-ku 0 points1 point ago

[–]kid-blue 0 points1 point ago

I clicked this whilst listening to Speedo by the Cadillacs. Mind=Blown.

[–]tjball 0 points1 point ago

My whole childhood just came flooding back to me.

[–]Skillering 0 points1 point ago

One of the best gaming dance moves. ALWAYS tried to mimic this.

[–]YJDO 0 points1 point ago

I can't help but think that his face is really similar to Nolan North

[–]pogo101650 0 points1 point ago

doing this at prom = aw yeeeeeeeeeeeah

[–]lionside 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps this is common knowledge and i don't remember exactly where i read it but i'm certain i heard that Crash is dancing to "Get Down Tonight".

Do a little dance

Make a little love

Get down tonight!

[–]bobdunga 0 points1 point ago

I love you for putting this up. Crash Bandicoot and Spyro really got my gaming obsession going way back.

[–]reddit4sissies 0 points1 point ago

I played every Bandicoot game that came out for ps1 .. miss them good ol days.

[–]MeowRaptor 0 points1 point ago

Play this and watch crash dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx6_MWVHZ4g

[–]Chafmere 0 points1 point ago

I loved this little guy

[–]SSJSwagger 0 points1 point ago

I remember when I got my first gem and he did this.

[–]mangaroo 0 points1 point ago

Come on sony, release some damn ps1 compatibility for the vita already..

[–]DizzyDoctorDro 0 points1 point ago

Nintendo fans need to appreciate this game. PS1!

[–]simeon94 0 points1 point ago

The funny eyebrow raising thing he did before he jumped on top of the baby polar bear was the fucking best, as well!

[–]KYLLER085 0 points1 point ago

i can dig it.

[–]vjaures 0 points1 point ago

My lil sis loved this game lol. She looks at it now, and she goes wow, what have I done!!

[–]late_on_the_boat 0 points1 point ago

I remember when I played warped, i would just sit there and watch him play with his yo-yo.

[–]RemnantEvil 0 points1 point ago

I've always thought that OK Go referenced this to a small degree.

[–]The_Odd_Canadian 0 points1 point ago

HOLY SHIT NOSTALGIA ATTACK

[–]BobTheLog 0 points1 point ago

Ah i still remember the Wrath of Cortex on my GameCube :D

[–]FrozenBananaMan 0 points1 point ago

Woot woot, e'rybody do tha bandicoot scoot

[–]worm_bagged -1 points0 points ago

Why do I always miss the karma? I freaking got the guy who composed the music for these games to do an AMA and I posted this gif in that AMA for ONLY 40 karma.

Reddit is a weird place.

[–]illreditlater 0 points1 point ago

No, you are just weird.

[–]AdjutantStormy 0 points1 point ago

You post a single gif in a large AMA. You feast or famine.

You post a single gif to nostalgia-troll r/gaming, you reap the rewards.

[–]ScruffySaysMhm 0 points1 point ago

For the guy that made the music? Haha, what questions would anyone ask him?

[–]Moclovevets 0 points1 point ago

Have you listened to the soundtrack high? Omg so much nostalgia and trippy sounds. Also Ty for getting him to do an AMA.
