It was her grandfather, iirc, and yeah, it's from the two-part pilot. As a 31 year old I'm not even remotely ashamed to admit I know this. It remains my favorite cartoon of my childhood. I MIGHT even remember the actual order of the colors in the song.....

Personally I think it's easier with hyperspeed. You can more easily see the seperation between notes. It looks less like just a "blob" of notes that way.

IIRC it makes the window for hitting notes larger. I know this is the case for at least one of the games, but I can't remember which.

That's just plain wrong. The only thing hyperspeed is increases the speed of the fretboard, which just visually separates the notes from one another. It in no way changes the speed of the song or how you have to hit the notes. The timing windows are always the same.

Hyperspeed has only ever been considered a 'cheat' by those who found it hard to use and were outclassed by those who benefited from it.

I never said it was a cheat man. I just said if I remembered correctly that's how it worked. I thought I remembered reading that somewhere, but I guess not. Anecdotally, I always seemed to do better on songs using hyperspeed.

It is remarkably easy after the intro. TDWDTG is much more difficult. Frets of Fire has some songs that are downright impossible. After getting through Darm Matter, I looked for tougher songs. I found them, and then rage quit the game forever.
