And why is batman's ally not up there?

[–]FryerFace 8 points9 points ago

Yeah, CEO of a multibillion corporation should be mentioned somewhere....

[–]johnmcawesome 5 points6 points ago

This pic is pretty old, probably made before Batman Begins.

[–]theBelatedLobster 0 points1 point ago

Invictus was out in 2009. They have no excuses!

[–]BeowulfShaeffer 0 points1 point ago

Not to mention badass nuclear physicist handy with the crowbar and gravity gun.

It's comforting to know that a high school principal is just one step up from a pimp.

[–]alltensedup 2 points3 points ago

I their respective social circles, the pimp might be higher. A principal can't bitchslap his students who don't show him respect.

How is 'inmate' above 'freed slave' and 'driver'?

That's some fucked up logic.

[–]Emmanuell89 6 points7 points ago

also how is judge below sergeant major

[–]FryerFace 1 point2 points ago

Sergeant Major is the highest rank Army personnel can achieve, beyond Sergeant Major of the Army/Command Sergeant Major. I guess it's a toss up, but it's still a pretty damn high rank.

[–]Geno_is_God 1 point2 points ago

Judges are untouchable. do you know how much power judges have? A sergeant major is not even close to the same power level....

[–]Ilikeskinnygurls 1 point2 points ago

Would you say it's over 9000?

[–]Emmanuell89 0 points1 point ago

i know how it works , i was a staff sergeant and i still think that a judge is " higher ranked " than that

[–]Axemantitan 0 points1 point ago

Sergeant Major of the Army is the highest enlisted rank, not the highest of all ranks.

[–]greymatters_flipside 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, judges should be on par with generals..

[–]emperor000 2 points3 points ago

I was wondering the same thing.

[–]planaxis 1 point2 points ago

How is 'inmate' above 'freed slave'

They're on the same level, so I assumed that they were of equal status.

and 'driver'?

That's the joke.

[–]TheTallTerror 1 point2 points ago

I would guess because 'inmates' have more rights than the 'freed slave' and 'driver' did.

[–]jreacher 3 points4 points ago

In what way?

[–]perkusdillinger 3 points4 points ago

In a bizarre, extremely misleading way, he's right. I work with a cop who was trying to explain this to me one day. It all goes by the letter of the law, and you can say "an inmate has more rights than citizens," but it's terribly misleading, making it sound like we're in some sort of police state. But what he means, though, is that they have to make laws on the rights of all kinds of things for inmates that there are no laws for regarding the rights of citizens. For example, the right to phone calls. The right to a toilet. The right to exercise an hour a day. All of these tiny little things add up to "the big book of Inmates' rights," which outweighs the book of citizens rights, which is the constitution and bill of rights. But we have no "right to demand a toilet," to demand phone calls, to demand exercise equipment in the exercise yard, to have 2-ply toilet paper, to get books, etc. Citizens have to work for their goods. Inmates have the right to them, because they're being cared for by the state in as "humane" a way as possible.

That's actually so strangely interesting to me. Should be something like this on /r/DepthHub.

[–]FryerFace 0 points1 point ago

Well, I can see Driving Miss Daisy as the lowest rung. That woman was a bitch for over half that damn movie.....

EDIT:missed a word

[–]perkusdillinger 0 points1 point ago

It goes from Principal to Pimp. I guess being a Pimp is morally superior than being a Driver?

[–]alltensedup 0 points1 point ago

The "driver" part is the punchline. Driving Miss Daisy was intended to be a positive film about race relations, but many people consider it to be demeaning to black people, with Freeman playing a stereotype. I think "freed slave" is lower mainly because it helps the joke (that Driving Miss Daisy is worse than slavery).

[–]scallycap94 2 points3 points ago

So, I guess we really don't need any other humans around.

[–]Robokeith 2 points3 points ago
