This could sound stupid, but are the claws really that big? I've always stood my ground in the idea that i could fight any animal and win (or atleast survive) but if that's how big the paws are then FUCK tigers!

It's a photoshopped artificially-large tiger in comparison to the dude, but yes, their claws are huge and no, you would not survive a fight to the death/escape with a tiger. Also consider that the actual size of the claws don't matter as much a the power behind them; think nail, vs. nail at the end of a 2-by-4 and swung at your head.

Then think of five butcher-kinfe tips about 5 inches around, all at the end of a plank rigged like a giant mouse-trap a la The Most Dangerous Game.

To be honest, it's the back claws i'd be more worried about. You seen that thing where a cat plays with a toy by holding it and using it's back legs to scratch it? i don't want "it" to be my belly. If i had a knife (who goes into the wild without one?) i think i could kill one. I may lose a leg or 3 but the headlines would be "dude kills tiger. yeah. how boss is that?"
