I've called him the glass man since he came to the Blues. It's amazing how many ridiculous injuries he gets. Him and Sami Salo are the two players who always seem to me to have the most freak accidents and always end up injured.

This is normally where I'd make a crack about Brent Johnson feeding DiPietro a double-decker knuckle sandwich (I was thinking maybe something about his jaw being made of glass), but the Isles beat the Pens pretty badly twice last week and well... Frankly, our jimmies are pretty rustled down here in the greater Pgh area.

True Story: I attended the Blues home opener this season and after the first period ended, I turned to my companions and remarked, "Hey! Wouldya look at that? One whole period and Colaiacovo isn't even hurt yet."

And then, sure enough: Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo landed hard with his back and head into the end boards after getting upended by Blake Geoffrion at 13:16 of the second and did not return. The team said he had an upper body injury.

He missed at least a few games.

I disagree, Carlo's play this season has been very sub-par. He is not needed on this years team. But on a lighter and much cooler note, Stanley cup here we come!!! Go note!!

"Our" = Toronto. Colaiacovo is +10 this year. Every single one of our D is -. He may not be one of your better D, but apparently ours suck at defending. I suppose a better goalie would help too though.

I watch every game. I don't judge these guys by their stats. I judge them by how they look on the ice and the choices they make. Which is why I also prefer Elliot over Halak. He doesn't look comfortable in the net. The D has really kept him up in the statistics department.

I don't get hockey at all anymore. Another cable network bought the rights to the NHL and are only showing the Stanley Cup whereas the last company they were with was showing about 3 games a day. Makes me rage when I think about it.
