I'm very sorry for you, but don't feel alone in this piece of shit situation. Despite snarky/rude/funny/hilarious/other not super ideal comments, reddit does care. Anyways... from my point of view... after dating a guy for 4 years and my family beginning to raise money for a wedding, my boyfriend dumped me and immediately began dating someone else. Within the next couple weeks, most of which I do not remember, I caused one distant relative to break off contact with me, I am pretty sure I caused my dad to have a stroke, I drove drunk, totalled my car, and spent a couple nights in jail. Everything was my fault. Total uninhibited pain-caused insanity. However, once I became sober enough to realize what was going on, I found out that my entire family was suddenly there to embrace me and no one ever brought up any of these disturbing subjects around me again. The key is to just move on. No matter how long it takes. It's different for everyone. No one can force it along. It will pass. I promise.
