Is it possibly tinfoil? Could this be something to do with King Cake?

Although the traditional cake is not at all similar to to the cake shown, the practice of putting little trinkets wrapped in tin foil in little cakes is more widespread. My parents' church for instance does it annually with cupcakes. They would be excellent cupcakes if it weren't for the risk of chomping down on a penny (one of the possible trinkets). The winner was the one that had a baby in theirs.

After all, who doesn't want to eat a baby when they have a cupcake?

Thinking back on it, there are some pretty weird traditions out there.

I got a lot of karma on my birthday, posting a picture of my birthday cake. My actual birthday.

Back then, I had been a redditor for ~3 months and I didn't know that cake day wasn't the same as birthday.

So when I finally learned that cake day is just a (multi-)year old reddit account, I was like, wtf?
