1 And in those times before the opening credits and first commercial break, a man was portrayed doing ordinary things unto ordinary people.

2 And Lo, just before the title sequence did the man begin to shake and fall to the ground as those around him watched in horror.

3 And thus did begin the opening credits and the network DID show a commercial for a vehicle and a commercial for a beverage. The advertising revenue was good.

4 And then the show DID begin as House barged into the office of Wilson. And House and Wilson did wager on a topic mundane regarding the behavior of House who was morally wrong but logically right.

5 The team DID meet in the room with the table of glass. And House DID seem unconcerned for the patient's well being while casting barbs and insults unto the team.

6 And Lo, tests were ordered.

7 But the team DID find such tests were not in agreement with the diagnosis.

8 And House DID deride the team for suggesting Lupus.

9 Thus did House order the patient's home searched. And neither fungal nor heavy metal toxicity sources were found.

10 And the patient did improve, until blood floweth from his eyes.

11 And Chase cutteth into the patient, but no tumor was found.

12 At this time did an epiphany come unto House. And his bet with Wilson was won and a diagnosis was made with smug aloofness.

13 And then the preview for next week's episode was shown. And the next episode DID look exciting, just as the preview for this episode looked exciting, but alas, it was not.

Book of House, Chapter 6, Verses 1-13

You forgot the most important miracle:

14 And though house performed several dangerous and radical treatments prior to any diagnosis, and although these failed treatments caused great harm to the patient, house was not sued.

15 And House did leer at Cutty and comment on the magnificence of that upon which she sits.

And in the NKJV, 15 reads:

15 And House did leer at Foreman and comment on his incompetence.

It took me a long while before I realized how futile my attempts were. Nowadays, my "arguments" typically only consist of me subtly revealing religious absurdities in hopes that the person will come to realize them in their own way.

that's the key I think. Dont be obnoxious or arrogant otherwise walls go up to quick. all you need to do is plant the seed.

Agreed. That's how I became an atheist. Atheists telling me I was wrong just pissed me off. Just teach them how to reason, and they'll get it.

Edit: I kind of hate seeing this quote, even though there's an element of truth to it. I was religious, and I was reasoned with, and now I'm an atheist. I'd change this quote to "when you can reason with a religious person, they're no longer religious."

[–]Blenderate 3 points4 points ago

I am a formerly very religious person who was reasoned with. I know it's difficult to believe, but it is possible to reason somebody out of their superstitions. Sometimes I find it hard to believe myself when I argue with others, but I'm living proof. I think of how extremely religious I was just a few years ago and it gives me hope.

Our hero Neil Degrasse Tyson always helps me. Post a few youtube links etc. Be respectful. The more you're the better person the dumber they look.

This gets posted every single week. We can't have that many people that miss this every time that it is posted and upvoted to the front page, can we?

I got reminded of this yesterday.

Someone had posted on Facebook about how The Hunger Games was really part of an conspiracy by the Anti-Christ Obama to draw people over to the idea of a one world government. I posted this:

"OK, so this movie is designed to get people ready to accept a One World Government??? It does this by showing a future world where people do not have enough food, live under a totalitarian government, with the ruling elite living in opulence, and there are annual "games" where one male and one female teenager are chosen at random from 12 or so districts with a fight to the death among them, with only one one child from the group surviving. Therefore, being chosen in the lottery means almost certain death. I can see why everyone would be enticed by that kind of world. (Sarcasm). The movie is just a movie."

And was met with a response that the poster would not argue with me because that is what the Devil would want, and that she was sure of the real purpose of the movie.

Face Palm.

Every time someone thinks for themselves, the Devil cackles and jacks off.

Is Hugh Laurie an atheist IRL?

[–]eddward -1 points0 points ago

Upvoted for House, not your need to feel important on Facebook debates.

Ha my pop tells me this all the time. ;)

[–]CravingforHibiscus -2 points-1 points ago

He is called Hugh Laurie...

[–]learnebonics 6 points7 points ago

Since the statement was made while he was in character, it's probably more fitting that he be referred to by the name of his character.

Season 4 episode 2, Dr. Gregory House. Or are you not familiar with "tv shows" and "scripts" where "actors" play roles?
