I am.

But I don't fucking have to impress you. I'm not your goddamn dancing monkey.

I'm secure.

Tip that is somewhat relevant. To achieve the superscript effect on all words in a sentence (instead of having to use an underscore), you can put the carats (^) in front of each word like so:

^Don't ^worry, ^we ^<3 ^you.

Don't worry, we <3 you.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points ago

I so laugh when someone asks 'Am I the only one...'.

[–]theghostofme 1 point2 points ago

Especially when it's something so inane that you have to question the poster's reasoning for even asking.

Does anyone else hate Monday mornings?

[–]veriix 0 points1 point ago

I used to....that was two years go, I don't laugh much anymore.

[–]Mr_McPants 14 points15 points ago

Indeed. We are the all-singing, all-dancing crap of this world. And we seem to sing the same song over and over until no one can stand that song any longer.

[–]Squishpoke 2 points3 points ago

You are not special. We're all part of the same compost heap.

[–]DownvoterAccount 1 point2 points ago

This is the song that doesn't end...

[–]RandallDangerStevens 4 points5 points ago

I don't know what any of you guys are talking about, nor would I divulge that information if I possesed it.....Sir.

[–]Fabbyfubz 2 points3 points ago

Or you can think of it this way: You are a unique snowflake, but how often do people stop to look at a single snowflake? Most of us are just snowflakes that are part of the mound, only in the background until we melt away...

[–]zublits 0 points1 point ago

Truth. Everything about you have in common with someone else. But all those things taken together, you are actually pretty unique.

[–]IcySeal -1 points0 points ago

So until we can post ourselves there will be no OC?

[–]remove 3 points4 points ago

The worst part? I accurately predicted what the caption to the image was going to be before clicking on it.

[–]LifeIsKarma 1 point2 points ago

Exactly! If you are ever thinking about posting something, search for it first. Odds are it's been done before - many, many times. We've made the same jokes and comments often enough that they have been absorbed into our collective unconscious.

What else is there left for us to do, Reddit?

[–]RichTea[S] 0 points1 point ago

Would not be surprised if someone has posted this before with a very similar title.

[–]GrinningPariah 1 point2 points ago

The better I get to know people, the more alone I am. Reddit is no exception.

[–]Littleish 3 points4 points ago

so true! pretty much whenever i read a thread with loads of comments, the top post says my exact thought that I was sure was soooo unique and usually they've written it far better than I could have ever expressed it!

[–]Jesse-Ray 2 points3 points ago

Highest upvote for a misused meme in evar!

[–]RichTea[S] -2 points-1 points ago*

I used it because he's the person who said it...

i wish there was something i could say that would help you see the beauty, wonder, and amazing creature you are... perhaps there is.

do you see that anything you work at (body/mind/soul) gets stronger and better? have you noticed that records get continuesly broken, year after year after year after year? we are getting better, and it is the example we set for each other, the bar we set, that we keep raising and finding that we can indeed jump higher than we ever dreamed possible...

For years, the 4-minute mile was considered not merely unreachable but, according to physiologists of the time, dangerous to the health of any athlete who attempted to reach it.

For Roger Bannister, it was vindication.

When he crossed the finish line with a time of 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds, he broke through a psychological barrier as well.

John Landy, considered one of the great milers of that era, never had gotten closer than within 1.5 seconds of the 4-minute barrier before. Within 46 days of Bannister's breakthrough, Landy surpassed the record with a 3:57.9 in Finland. source

I read this while taking a massive dump.

[–]PeaceBegetsPeace 1 point2 points ago

ah yes, a truly provocative debater!

[–]iisnotjesus 0 points1 point ago

There is a really interesting vid (screw needed) regarding this in the modern era, as in a anti darwinistic slowing down, that was all but true until usain bolt started running... I guess point is, we can evolve at any level!!

[–]Ultramerican 0 points1 point ago

Now I can even guess memes before I expand the picture in RES. Worst superpower ever.

[–]Motafication 0 points1 point ago

That's too bad, because it has taught me the exact opposite. When you get massively downvoted it confirms it.

[–]redditspice 0 points1 point ago

You realize that all of reddit has already realized we are not snowflakes.
You are years behind.
Next time you have an epiphany, realize that it is a common thought we have all already had. Good Luck not failing at life.

[–]Zergling_Supermodel 0 points1 point ago

How I wish there were more people like you so that they'd take a break from trying so hard to be so unique and different, and become a bit less full of themselves in the process. I guess they'd be happier that way too, btw.

[–]Arcanite 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps but this means that the world isnt quite as shit as I thought it was.

[–]beatyour1337 0 points1 point ago

Im glad you posed this... I tell people that all the time

[–]Battlesheep 0 points1 point ago

Well, you are, but you've ever seen snowflakes? Each one may have a unique geometric pattern, but nobody really cares, they're pretty much the same as far as anyone else is concerned

[–]Gavinooo 0 points1 point ago

Yep it started with Facebook pages, moved to rage comics, and now reddit, I am humbled.

[–]BetterThanOP 0 points1 point ago

[–]fawker 0 points1 point ago

When the brain fully matures at around 25 (for males), this concept is truly easier to grasp.

[–]Darkslime-Z 0 points1 point ago

What I think you all are missing is the sheer ridiculous amount of ways you can be unique in the first place. Sure, you can point to DAE threads all you want that say "yes, everyone else does", but try taking a combined count of every single one of those threads and see how many different variations of yes/no/maybe/whatever there are between people.

tl;dr there are so many more ways to be unique than what you would gather from DAE threads on Reddit

[–]Bloranyl 0 points1 point ago

Try styding psychology. Your mind will be blown.

[–]CowboyNinjaD 0 points1 point ago

I've always loved the irony of Brad Pitt delivering this line:

"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars, but we won't."

[–]240mikex 0 points1 point ago

HOW IS THIS FUNNY GET THE FUCK OUT

[–]Timebomb3822 -1 points0 points ago

His name is Robert Paulson.
