Had dozens of them never a problem till I tried to show someone how to catch and pick one up... then got nabbed. lul

Good though ended up eating it. Tasted good.

Could we hear more about that story? Did you grow them to be pets? Also did the bite get infected?

There's a couple hundred of them living in Miami because someone thought it would be a good idea to smuggle them in through the airport. We have a pretty bad burmese python problem too. Perhaps we just need to convince rednecks to start eating them. It's done wonders for our alligator over-population.

Lived in the Philippines for a few years, and people around there do anything for money. So, as a fan of all types of pets possible we bought pythons and monitors off those guys. Converted a swimming pool into a nice living area for the monitors.

It didnt taste bad though, it was a bit like wet chicken? dont remember fully now on the taste but remember not disliking it. was more than 10 years ago now.

Quite possibly Sri Lanka. I was there last year for holiday and there was a 4 foot water monitor living on the grounds of the hotel. The locals called them alligators, but I think they did that to scare the tourists. The license plate looks like it probably has Sinhalese characters on it. BTW, go to Sri Lanka. It's cool! It's like India lite. But with better beaches (IMHO).
