Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

I have. Dublin, 2005. I was in Ireland visiting some friends in Belfast and since we had some mutual friends in Dublin (the lot of us had met years earlier in San Francisco) and I had never been, we decided to make the trip down for St. Paddy's. Sure, there were a lot of meatheads and idiots at large, but for my money, in very general terms, the Irish public is far more professional about its drinking than is the American public. Here in the US, St Paddys day is one of those three or four nights a year when all the amateur drunks come out and make an obnoxious nuisance of themselves, crowding up my bars, creating a menace on the roads, using all my fucking taxis and public transportation and in general just pissing me off. That's why I stay home. Maybe I'd feel the same way if I actually lived in Dublin, but it was just a one-off for me and I had a pretty good time.

Lol wut? I have no idea what you are talking about. You insulted me by saying that when I was in Ireland, all Irish people basically thought I was a moron. Since you have, and can have, absolutely no idea who I am or what Irish people may in fact think of me in general terms, I stated that you are both ignorant and arrogant. You either get this, or you do not. The fact that you bring up some random idea about what my family has or has not taught me indicates to me that you very probably lack the intellectual horsepower needed to tell the difference between what I've actually said vs what you think or want me to have said. This is the state of your argumentation.

But as if that's not enough, you're not satisfied and now feel it necessary to impugn my love for team sports, as if anyone who enjoys the same is necessarily an idiot.

Fortunately for me, I'm not a teenager and haven't been one for decades. I spent most of that St. Paddy's at a session in an old friend's kitchen where we made music and drank poteen through the small hours. I count some of the guys I played with that night among the finest musicians I've ever met. I'm not going to drop any names though.
