Anyone else feel like his facial expressions look a lot like Sheldon Cooper?

Hey, I've been away for the last 10 days, hence the late reply. I was just curious why you reported me. Is there some rule I violated? No harsh feelings on my end, just trying to understand and avoid future ridicule etc.

I was just being a dick tbh

At least you're honest.

I fucking hated that little poop stain.

EDIT: Let the downvotes come. If you don't think that show was entirely unfunny, I don't need your approval.

RE-EDIT: Apparently my insult was construed as gay-bashing. Edited for appropriateness. Fwiw, "ass pirate" could mean anything involving a pirate and an ass. Like I could have been characterizing him as a little pirate that lives in an ass, or a pirate that has an ass for a head.

The gay bashing doesn't help...

Ah, that explains it. My bad.

Can you document the exact time when the phrase "poop stain" became a homophobic slur?

Cause we ran around calling each other that when I was in like, pre-school.

[–]m104 1 point2 points ago

He changed it from ass pirate to poop stain. Let the record show that I have no problem calling people poop stains if the situation calls for it.

I would also like proper documentation of when "ass pirate" became a slur. For a while, you could say damn near anything to the homosexuals: queer, queen, whatever. They cared not one fuck. Now (after they have gained legitimacy in some states) it seems that you can't use any such phrasing or they get all upset.

In light of this observation, I'm trying to document just how quickly the LBGT community is going from one of openness and acceptance to one of political correctness and power plays. In other words, how long until we have something like the ALCU, but for LBGT?

I'm not sure why you're assuming they didn't care, and how you're so sure they weren't hesitant to say anything for fear of further ridicule.

It's true, you shouldn't use derogatory terms to describe other races, religions, and societal groups. Sorry.

Where's the political correctness? What power plays are you talking about? Insisting that gays shouldn't be ridiculed or treated differently under the law isn't political correctness and power grabs - it's just treating people how you want to be treated.

Also, this.

Are you kidding me? In the late 80's, calling a homosexual "queer" resulted in a least a verbal berating from the offended party, or was used by the offending party as an insult. Cut to mid 90's, and the phrase has been high jacked by the movement, ie, "We're here, we're queer, etc etc." This used to be the case for almost all derogatory phrases used to belittle homosexuals. It was the one part of there movement that I found to be truly innovative - taking the phrases and slurs used by the opposition and embracing them. You certainly did not see that in the civil rights movement...

I'm not suggesting that such terms should be used. I was simply lamenting the loss in the LBGT movement of this unique way of dealing with these slurs - it completely removed the stigma the asshole using them were trying to introduce to society at large.

Now, instead, folks within the movement (or supportive of it) are calling out posters on reddit - a web site - the for use of a phrase as offensive, thereby giving a phrase that has been in use for years (and too my knowledge getting more chuckles from LBGTs than offense) and giving it the power to offend. This is a step backwards in my opinion.

Also, I award you zero points for linking to urban dictionary. While it may show that one - ONE - individual defines a particular phrase a certain way, it is certainly not indicative of society at large. To be frank, the folks that submit definitions to UD can make almost any phrase offensive.
