Our company makes us pay for tips when we go out for lunch & use the Co card. This started several years ago when someone brought the VP the receipt to sign off on it and he says "WTF is this, I'm not paying for the tip on the service that YOU got" Makes sense

Tipping pisses me off so much. When I worked in the food industry I did the best job ever. I didn't think I magically deserved extra money just for doing my job properly.

What country are you from? Because in the U.S., servers make around $2.13 an hour depending on which state they work in. Tips are necessary & expected because of the insanely low wages. Many Americans understand that no one can possibly live off of that way & tip accordingly.

While that is certainly true, it rarely happens here. I have worked in 5 different restaurants & none of them followed through with that rule. I also have many friends that have worked in other restaurants and it just doesn't happen.

True, but easier said than done. First off most servers are college students who can't afford an attorney. Second, it comes down to proof. Many restaurant owners will simply say that the server is lying about the amount of tips made. So it becomes all about who is to be believed.

Thankfully the majority of people leave 20% & so all of us struggling students can eventually move beyond a job like that.

I don't even know a fucking Jew who had the balls to say that.

Waitressing is the number one occupation for female non-college graduates in this country. It's the one job basically any woman can get and make a living on. The reason is because of the tips.
