Sure, I agree with you that language evolves, but in this case you are wrong. Even about thinking that this thing will someday be called a door "jam" just because you call it that.

The industry calls it something else - google "spring door stop(per)" - that's the name that will stick, especially since "door jamb" already means something else...

What's so bad about admitting that you're wrong?
