Live-action Scooby Doo? As a kid? Holy crap, I feel old.

[–]frontrowlady 24 points25 points ago

My first thought was "as a kid?? didn't this come out a few years ago?"

[–]Jacred 6 points7 points ago

well, i don't know which movie this is but... last live scooby doo movie to come out was nearly 8 years ago..

[–]Akarei 6 points7 points ago

The first one from 2002. 10 years ago... I was 9.

[–]frontrowlady 9 points10 points ago

I was..... not.

[–]FarmerTan 26 points27 points ago

Side fact, that is Isla Fisher from Wedding Crashers. So hot!

[–]petemorley 15 points16 points ago

Now I feel old. Side fact: That's Isla Fisher from Home and Away.

[–]hadhad69 12 points13 points ago

I've touched Isla Fisher's arse.

[–]WheatleyLabs 11 points12 points ago

Teach me.

[–]hadhad69 28 points29 points ago

She was in a play in the UK in the late 90's, I was a rapscallion young lad and pinched her bum while she milled around afterwards. Good times man, I lived on that story for months.

[–]ChiefNugs 24 points25 points ago

What a British comment.

[–]anonytrees 4 points5 points ago

[–]Hart_Les 4 points5 points ago

Upboats for you all, wow.

[–]Silverswimmer -2 points-1 points ago

You're like the asshole who reads the stage directions.

[–]Hart_Les 6 points7 points ago

I wasn't sarcastic, I was moved to tears with laughter earlier.

Just toked a whole bowl, saw kitty repost, laughed at comments. "Oh yay" I thought, "an orangered!" I thought with glee.

Then I was :( when the fourth word called me an "asshole." Like wtf? Then -2? :(:(

So yeah, I had an otherwise chill day, now I'm not foreveralone.jpg

[–]SmokeyBear88 1 point2 points ago

Hello, this is Dog.

[–]healxph0enix 2 points3 points ago

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Poop.

[–]whackadoo47 1 point2 points ago

you'll burn for that

[–]CircusAtari 2 points3 points ago

Likewise... I was old enough to wish I was young enough to watch it, but young enough that I cared that people would care that I was too old to be watching it...

Yeah...

[–]MrMacro 7 points8 points ago

It was released in 2002, so if we assume "as a kid" is between 6-14 years old than they're 15-23 years old now. They're still really a kid, they just don't think they are.

[–]Knappsterbot 4 points5 points ago

Doesn't a handlebar mustache automatically make you an adult?

[–]MusicNotesAndOctopie 0 points1 point ago

Or maybe they do think they are and that raises the max age from 14 to 23 so now it's anyone that saw that movie as a kid could have been 6-23 and seeing as its been 10 years or so, that makes them now 16-33 years old. So some will be kids, some will be not. SCIENCE.

[–]Lavernius_Tucker 1 point2 points ago

I'm 21 and I feel old after that.

[–]chelelgin 0 points1 point ago

IM GLAD I WASNT ALONE THERE, UPTOKE TO YOU

[–]BrohanGutenburg 0 points1 point ago

Came here to say this.

[–]pavlpants 0 points1 point ago

Yea, I came in here to say if you watched that scooby too movie as a kid, you're still pretty much a kid, lol

[–]TragicOne 0 points1 point ago

i'm 22 and i feel old because of that.

[–]Joe_Stoner 56 points57 points ago

YES! I saw this at my grandmas the other day she couldn't figure out why I was laughing.. and the part when Scooby and Shaggy are at the beach and its playing pass the dutchie and the smokes rolling out of the top of the mystery machine

[–]ENTertwined4ever 56 points57 points ago

I also never understood when they sat in the circle in "That 70's Show" that they were smokin. Watching it now, after I have imbibed, makes me laugh. :-D

[–]tree-ent 32 points33 points ago

That took me forever to figure out too. Completely changed the show!

[–]angreesloth 42 points43 points ago

wow really? I thought that was sort of a given. I know this post sounds dickish but I don't mean it to be so I will include this Adorable picture of a cat in a frog hat

[–]GernBlanstonInLove 7 points8 points ago

I thought this as well, but then again, I was like 15 when the show started.

[–]angreesloth 2 points3 points ago

that's fair, that's fair. I honestly didn't watch it until it had been off the air, when I was old enough to get most if not all of the jokes. So I can see where you're coming from.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

Lol I love how you knew your post sounded a bit dickish and included the picture to make up for it. I love /r/trees

[–]angreesloth 2 points3 points ago

I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be received poorly. I like to make good impressions :)

[–]usualsuspects 2 points3 points ago

Honest, but nice enough to soften the blow with cute pictures even when you're not being particularly mean. You are the best kind of person.

[–]angreesloth 1 point2 points ago

Oh stop it you but thank you very much, I appreciate it.

[–]whackadoo47 1 point2 points ago

good guy angreesloth: makes a comment that can be perceived as dickish, gives cute picture for good karma.

[–]angreesloth 1 point2 points ago

Achievement unlocked: Be a GGG. Thank you very much whackadoo47, you've made my night :D

[–]Teahes 1 point2 points ago

[–]mvitti 3 points4 points ago

One of my favorite parts. I'm not ashamed to say this was one of like 5 movies I owned in college

[–]grammargiraffe 84 points85 points ago

That movie came out nine years ago. Chances are you're still a kid.

[–]BOS13 29 points30 points ago

That was nine years ago? Christ, I'm old...

[–]MxDaleth 9 points10 points ago

Depends what you'd classify as a kid. 3 years old? 8? 12? 17?

[–]grammargiraffe 16 points17 points ago

Yes. To all.

[–]MxDaleth 5 points6 points ago

How about 26?

[–]TundraWolf_ 14 points15 points ago

You're always a kid to someone.

most redditors live at home until their parents croak; everyone is a kid to them.

[–]haackedc 0 points1 point ago*

9 years ago I was 14. Definitely more kiddish than I am now, and although I am still honored to hold onto some of it today, OP's title would still be relevant if he were my age.

[–]ral008 12 points13 points ago

[–]waveclimber 0 points1 point ago

If you were a kid when this came out then you're still a kid.

[–]haddock420 6 points7 points ago

It came out 9 years ago. Anyone who watched it when they were 12 would be 21 by now.

[–]conrad141 1 point2 points ago

This came out 9 years ago, so if you were older than 8 at the time, not really.

[–]Jucoy 0 points1 point ago

What age do you consider the cut off from kid to young adult then?

[–]MxDaleth 0 points1 point ago

What age do you consider a kid to be, then?

[–]pasmeme 0 points1 point ago

Was this the first or second one?

[–]ZOMGITSABEAR 0 points1 point ago

[–]TheLoneWander101 0 points1 point ago

[–]OWSmoker 0 points1 point ago

Im not gonna lie im sick of seeing this shaggy crap of the same picture

[–]aakaakaak 0 points1 point ago

...as a kid...

God, I feel so old now. Just grind me up for soylent green later.

[–]segasean 0 points1 point ago

This was on TV not too long ago, and I thought the same thing! Also, there's a scene where they're in a van "doing what they do best" and smoke is pouring out of it. The camera moves inside and you see that they're actually just cooking some food. There are so many references that I never knew were there until I learned more.

[–]iratusamuru 0 points1 point ago

That's why this type of thing makes me sick.

I know the government just wants the socially disruptive counter culture minded individual sedated and passified, but nonstop these shows supply kids with druggy stereotypes and addiction as funny, friendly aspects of life, and so when a kid starts experimenting he already has his controllable, flock-like addict behavior programmed into his mind, and finds the concepts of drug use and lust for objects and consumables as an old comforting friend, a way to escape the burdens of adulthood brought on average class human beings, that they will submit and accept rather than act and change.

[–]denvertheshark 0 points1 point ago

does anybody else see the bag in her hand?

[–]jaurk 0 points1 point ago

Was watching this high with a friend a month back and saw this, my mind exploded.

[–]MrWompypants 0 points1 point ago

Doesn't she become some crazy insane psycho monster bitchface towards the end?

That's some pretty shitty Mary Jane..

[–]BeautifulLittleLies 0 points1 point ago

I would say childhood=ruined but it's more like childhood=10x better.

[–]Givemeahamburger 0 points1 point ago

[–]IronLungJ 0 points1 point ago

[–]soldier_green 0 points1 point ago

[–]blue_moose 0 points1 point ago

Fun fact: in the beginning they wanted to make Scooby Doo a stoner movie, but later on they decided if they make it a regular comedy they will sell more dvds.

[–]Skaarah -1 points0 points ago

I once went to a strip club and the lady I received a lap dance from was named Mary Jane. She took off her top to reveal breasts that looked as tho dogs chewed on them. As I'm working my way down her body I see she's had a kidney removed. Except kidneys are in your back. OH FUCK OH FUCK. ITS A C SECTION SCAR. and. whats this coming out of her under ware? Why those are strecthmarks akxnfl. complemented by the biggest thicket of pubes I've ever seen. Mary Jane, not even once.
