I hear that scene was improvised, and Harrison Ford just shot the guy because he was too hung over to want to perform the actual fight sequence.

Yep! Specifically the "Fumoffu" uh...comedy...season...thing.

The regular one has a running plot and stuff. Fumoffu ties in with that and mostly considers the terrible things that happen when you stick a very socially inept soldier into daily civilian life.

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. The beach episode I think.

Edit: Fumoffu is the 2nd series of Full Metal Panic, and is mostly a comedy (making it quite different from seasons 1 and 3).
