A good font makes the difference between a screaming wall of black text and a legible, easy-to-read body of type that expresses an idea intelligently. If you don't already feel this way about type, do yourself a favor and NEVER, EVER get into typography, learn about kerning, or look into how the basic choices made by designers on a daily basis effect how you read your world - you will learn to hate things based on font.
