Hope you don't mind, but I made one in white text. I think it's about time too.

Not a problem. That font is better anyway.

Thanks! I love the sentiment of the original, but the misquote is irritating.

Adding some strokes could be useful. Just saying.

Why is someone quoting a man who is famous for being a massive dickhead?

[–]GringoAngMoFarangBo 2 points3 points ago

MLK cheated on his wife and was generally a dick to her, it doesn't mean his words didn't hold truth.

Christians won't quote Kony saying how great Christianity is as it can make them look bad, the same goes for quoting Krushchev

[–]wonderfuldog 4 points5 points ago

If you're imitating the Christians you're probably doing something wrong.

In case you're interested we shouldn't compare ourselves with someone who made walls around cities and generally shitted on all of his people and nearly started a nuclear war, just sayin'

[–]wonderfuldog -1 points0 points ago

Except when such a "comparison" is more accurate than a false comparison that people are wrongly making.

[–]GringoAngMoFarangBo 0 points1 point ago

Well to be fair, neither of our examples is a very good comparison to Krushchev who was at the end of the day just another politician, but we still quote politicians all the time and I see nothing wrong with that. I might dislike Reagan for being a total douche, but I'll still quote;

"We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate."

Because a false version of this attributing it to Gagarin himself is extremely popular.

OP's version is more correct.

  1. Because I'd rather see the accurate version getting reposted every couple of weeks instead of the one attributed to Gagarin.

and

  1. Even a broken clock is right once in a while.
