This'll be my reaction if Rick Santorum becomes president.

[–]ElBobo 0 points1 point ago

For me Canada is in the other direction.

[–]rottenseed 2 points3 points ago

This happened to me yesterday. My boss brought it up...I think I sunk into the carpet since there were no bushes around. He's a big lummox, anyway.

People should gif the scene from Arrested Development where GOB rolls backwards out of the scene on his Segway. It could be used for the same purpose XD

[–]moparornocar 3 points4 points ago

I couldn't find it but I found this to express me feelings on not finding the first gif.

Yeah, this happens to me far too often. I do the same thing when people bring up Santorum and how it's "nice to finally have a strong, Christian candidate" who "realizes America is a Christian nation."

I often feel like crying at work. Not sure why...

I made the mistake of telling someone in my office that I am an atheist. He asked me to remove myself from his vehicle, luckily he no longer works here, but most of the rest of the people in the office have the same sentiment. Needless to say I eat by myself a lot and try to hide in my office.

You live in the Bible belt I'm guessing?

[–]rpeg 0 points1 point ago

Next time, tell him you rape pigs. He may be more sympathetic.

[–]hellomrbradbury 1 point2 points ago

did this today....could still hear them though.....it was the worst

[–]eeviltwin 1 point2 points ago

Happened to click on this right as two coworkers next to me started discussing homosexuality and religion. One of them is studying to become a teacher, and they're talking about what she would do if a student in her class was picking on another student for being gay.

"I'd take them outside and tell them that even though I agree with them, it's not appropriate to pick on another student because they're gay."

O_O YIKES.

[–]Sea-Man 1 point2 points ago

First I was like lol

but then I cried quietly to myself because it's true

[–]Jollyranchr 0 points1 point ago

That's perfect!

[–]ElBobo 0 points1 point ago

Finally a use of this gif I can upvote.

I work in the center of heathen, capitalist, tinseltown, sexville. Not a lot of xtians here. I actually wouldn't mind a few more.

ABORT!

[–]Dadentum 0 points1 point ago

I'm glad I don't work with stupids!!

[–]philge 2 points3 points ago

Talking about, or believing in Jesus doesn't make you stupid. Don't be a jerk.

[–]Dadentum -2 points-1 points ago

Yeah it does. Have you ever MET a Jesus person? They are like angry clowns sans make-up.

[–]ElBobo 1 point2 points ago

I have to agree with philge, it only makes you indoctrinated, not stupid.

[–]philge 0 points1 point ago

For the most part, yes, I would say it's indoctrination. This is not always the case, however. There are people who believe in Jesus for many different reasons. For some, it could have been a strange coincidence that they considered a miracle. For others, it could have been a vivid dream or hallucination. There are even those who have come to find religion through careful contemplation, and their own reasoning.

We shouldn't be calling anyone stupid because of their religious beliefs. Yes, there are plenty of stupid religious people. There are plenty of stupid atheists as well. Believing in Jesus does not make you stupid!

This is why people hate /r/atheism!

[–]ElBobo 4 points5 points ago

What you said is very true, you have convinced me that it is not only indoctrination that makes people believe. But at the end you said "This is why people hate /r/atheism!" which I would say for some part it is true. They also hate it for existing, for questioning their beliefs, for being popular, for challenging the christian status quo in 'murica, and for causing them cognitive dissonance.

[–]EbolaPie 1 point2 points ago

One could argue that taking a coincidence or hallucination as proof of a deity is indication of some deeper psychological issue.

[–]ElBobo 0 points1 point ago

Or a need of some sort of psychilogical justification of one's thoughts and actions.

[–]Dadentum -1 points0 points ago

Idk man. The people that believe in Jesus and shit are generally the same people that don't have enough cognition to hold their mouths closed. So they constantly walk around agape and droopy.

[–]philge 0 points1 point ago

I've met plenty of people who believe in Jesus. Many of these I consider my family, and many are good friends. People all over the world believe in all kinds of different crazy shit! It doesn't necessarily make them stupid.

So please, don't call people stupid for what they believe in.

[–]Dadentum -1 points0 points ago

Have you ever considered the possibility that some of your family and good friends are stupid?

[–]philge 0 points1 point ago

Certainly I have, and many of them probably are. However, I would not consider them to be stupid because they believe in Jesus.

[–]Dadentum -1 points0 points ago

That's just splitting hairs then. :p

[–]perfectgyroscope 0 points1 point ago

I'm glad I don't live in a third world country

[–]voidafter180days 0 points1 point ago

What's the difference between Jesus and a picture of Jesus? It only takes one nail to hang the picture.

[–]Rflkt 0 points1 point ago

It's also not as messy.

[–]Rephaite -2 points-1 points ago

Lol. Ninjaing someone else's upload, huh? The address of the link itself reads "http://pleated-jeans.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/when-the-person-you-like-asks-you-who-you-like.gif"

Note the

when-the-person-you-like-asks-you-who-you-like.

[–]Rephaite 0 points1 point ago

I'll take the downvote as confirmation. Way to go reposts!

[–]azripah 0 points1 point ago

It's been posted to reddit so many times, it's kinda a meme. It's applicable in enough situations that it doesn't really qualify as a repost.

[–]Rephaite 0 points1 point ago

If it is a meme, put your own meme-text on it instead of directly copy pasting the address that the last poster linked. That's all I'm saying. A repost is a repost. A meme gets modified between posts, or it is a repost, too.

[–]sideflanker -3 points-2 points ago

Bitches please, i'm agnostic.

[–]YCFTIOFIDNG 4 points5 points ago

Sir, you didn't finish your sentence.

[–]sideflanker 2 points3 points ago

How so?
