i actually looked this up yesterday. i went to grab some asprin for my headache and saw that it was 6 months expired. i had been taking it way past the expiration for a while now so i looked up the side effects online. apparently it's no big deal. the expiration is just a government mandate so the consumers know it's not as potent as it once was. there is no harm in taking expired medicine.reference

What's worse, the expired medicine, or the wonderful math?

That expired cough medicine gave me a headache... where's the expired pain reliever at?

I have watched enough 'Breaking Bad' to know where this is going.
