Yup. It's kinda funny to rewatch the first Star Wars knowing that Princess Leia is blasted out of her mind the whole time, considering how prim and proper her character was in that film. Also, she apparently doesn't even remember doing the infamous Christmas special. Of course, I don't think it'd take any drugs to suppress that memory.

My question to the actors. How does the actor feel when a stunt double really looks like them? I mean, what really sets apart a stunt double from the character actor? I would think in some instances, the character actor would feel intimidated by the stunt double - as in- why not just use the stunt double for the whole movie, putting the actor out of the job? Although i guess with contracts signed and all, they cannot exactly just fire the actor for no real reason.

EDIT- Ok, i understand that perhaps the actor can "act" better than the stunt double, but in some movies, i question how much the actor really "acts".

If the stunt double gets hurt, you can get a quick replacement.

In this case, if Carrie Fisher had been hurt, good luck finding a doppleganger actress, keeping in mind that this was the 3rd movie of the trilogy. It would not have made any sense to replace Princess Leia by another actress.

The only way I know it worked is in the Matrix movies after the Oracle actress died, they adjusted the storyline to fit in the new actress.
