In 9th grade, I was taking the bus to high school. I was usually one of the first people on the bus since my stop was like the 2nd stop, so I would usually be on the bus for like 20 minutes or so (unless someone dropped me off or I drove). Usually I would sit down and pass out immediately. On one eventful day, I passed out and woke up. The sun was out (which it usually wasn't when I was on the bus) and I looked to my left and a little girl in elementary school was looking at me funny and he said "What's your name?" When I finally realized that she was in elementary school and I had slept in that bus through the high school and middle school runs and was now on the elementary school run I looked at her and said "My name is Immynimmy". I then proceeded to go back to sleep.

You should know that this .gif comes from a video of a dog after the floods in Thailand. He's trapped on a patio that's collected rainwater, and unable to lie down to sleep. The dog is so exhausted that he falls asleep standing up, only to be quickly woken after falling into the water.

It's really not funny when you know the context.

In first grade, I fell asleep on the bus on our way home. I was one of the last stops. I woke up and noticed we weren't moving anymore. Apparently, I fell asleep through all the stops and the bus driver drove to the bus parking lot, never bothering to check the bus.

Same here, only on a 30 minute subway ride. Doesn't matter if I had 10 hours of sleep, I'm still getting some more.

I have a bad habit of extreme flinching when I just fall asleep. Sometimes an arm or leg will go flying. Fortunately, I have never punched someone, but I've come close and people will move away from me when it happens. I'm a 240 lb powerlifter, so I really could unintentionally hurt someone, maybe I should ride the subway with both hands down my pants instead of just the one.

I used to have to take a bus to a train to a train to a bus to get to work. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes, which pretty much makes my work day 11 hours since trying to stay awake and not miss a stop was harder than anything I did at my job.

I am an RN and I frequently take the bus to and from work, and after a night shift, it is physically impossible for me to stay awake. My solution is that I know about how long it takes to get to my stop, and set my alarm- a few stops before home it wakes me up and I'm good. I have never missed my stop in 5 years (9 if you count doing that to and from class in college).

One upside to my horrifically long commute is I have an hour to fall back asleep on the train into the city. 15 minutes carpool, 1 hourl nap, then 15 minutes on the streetcar works pretty good to let me doze yet still be awake by the time I hit the office.

I would rather take the bus TO work at 7am then FROM work. I have never fallen asleep on the bus and woken up in a panic on my way to work. But after working an overnight shift I'm nodding off all the time. Plus I worked at a coffee shop so I would be nodding off in full humiliating uniform with a coffee or two for later. I probably looked awesome.
