Thanks for posting this for the billionth time! I haven't seen it enough!
[–]hacksoncode 9 points10 points11 points 5 months ago
Yeah, pretty much sure that the bible claims the talking snake is evil too.
[–]Ragnalypse 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
"Unnatural" is "bad"
Wouldn't it make more sense for their Satan to be unnatural then?
[–]Legault 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
Come on now. This is a fun joke, but a horrible argument. So why are all of those negative comments taking it seriously?
[–]fenryka 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago
the two pictures look like they would be subtitled
"the derp is this, the derp is that?"
[–]goodwolf 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
That's about the level Russell usually operates on.
[–]CountGrasshopper 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
The Bible says no such thing. The idea of individuals actually being identified as "gay" or "straight" based on sexual preference is a pretty modern one, so the Biblical authors couldn't really have made any commentary on it.
[–]eamonomae 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
Who's this guy again?
[–]pig3onkick3r 3 points4 points5 points 5 months ago
It is Russell Howard http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_Howard

[–]Norannyo 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago
The Bible doesn't say "gays" are unnatural. It classifies the action of homosexuality as sin. "gay" doesn't define a person but an action. If you use modern terminology that is. Just to set the record straight.

[–]Legault 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
Romans 1:26 says otherwise. That's New Testament, no less.
[–]svengalus 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
That passage specifically calls the lust for other men unnatural. The men themselves are not unnatural.

You can tell this guy isn't funny at all by the faces he is making.

British humour, lost on you?
[–]Morwening -4 points-3 points-2 points 5 months ago
No. He was a regular on Mock the Week, it's pretty much a given that he's terrible.
[–]Senator_Christmas 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
This joke is severely lacking in wit and humor.
[–]15rthughes 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
I've seen this posted here dozens of times
[–]bzeurunkl 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
Only one problem. The Bible says gays are perfectly natural. Might want to get your facts straight before constructing that scarecrow.
[–]belloch 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
I don't understand how unnaturalness is relevant to homosexuality being a bad thing.
[–]NeverStopPosting 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
Now THIS is some gay content that can actually go in this subreddit.
[–]AnonyMouse32 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
Well, in the Bible the talking snake is a representation of the devil, so I don't really think comparing it with gays does anything but give christians ammo. This is a pretty big Fail, actually.
[–]IAmHereToTrollYou -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 months ago
Oh boo-who. Gays are unnatural. Get over it.
[–]kpence 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago
Lol your username
[–]soooHawt -1 points0 points1 point 5 months ago
Are gay people a metaphor?
[–]0600Hours -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 months ago
To be fair, he is literally comparing gays to the devil.
[–]MrMastodon 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago
Wrong. He is pointing out that the Bible is talking out of its booky anus.
[–]Grintock -1 points0 points1 point 5 months ago
...But the Bible says gays are unnatural and thus bad, and also states that talking snakes (Satan) is bad. So, it's also stating that the latter is unnatural. Doesn't that mean this meme makes no sense?
[–]Toadonatwig -1 points0 points1 point 5 months ago
..and this Brit comedian isn't even very good. That makes this all doubly pointless.
[–]ScrottyMcBoogerball5 -2 points-1 points0 points 5 months ago
PLEASE KEEP YOUR GAY SHIT OFF OF ATHEISM. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ATHEISM
[–][deleted] -19 points-18 points-17 points 5 months ago
I say gays are unnatural because humans are a species that procreates through sexual reproduction.
How does the fucking Bible enter into it?
Am I now allowed to "prove" an argument just by mentioning a brain-dead rebuttal?
[–]lorakeetH 6 points7 points8 points 5 months ago
So grandparents are unnatural, too, because they can't reproduce anymore. If sexual reproduction at its most basic is the only point of humanity, we should go into heat and die as soon as we hit menopause. We don't, because social structures provide evolutionary benefits, and kids with grandparents, aunts, and uncles, regardless of their reproductive status, may have an evolutionary advantage over those who don't. There's also some suggestion that women with gay brothers may be more fertile.
tldr: natural doesn't mean simplified down to inanity.
[–][deleted] -9 points-8 points-7 points 5 months ago
The natural cycle for human beings is to grow up through stages of life, old age is one of those stages.
If sexual reproduction at its most basic is the only point of humanity
It's not the only point, but it's a fundamental point because without it humanity would go extinct.
What next, are you saying that eating is the only point of humanity because without eating we would die?
LOL! For someone who says grandparents are the same as gays because they went past menopause, to speak of something "simplified down to inanity", that must be either the record troll or record stupid level!
[–]Hiscore[S] 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
He never said that grandparents are the same as gay "because they went past menopause." Also, most gays AREN'T past menopause, and they are perfectly CAPABLE of having kids.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 5 months ago
He never said that grandparents are the same as gay "because they went past menopause."
He used old people as an analogy. He said that, since old people cannot have kids, they are as unnatural as gay couples.
That's a very stupid analogy, because anyone will grow old if they don't die young, but only 1% of the people are gay.
Growing old is natural, being gay is not.
they are perfectly CAPABLE of having kids.
Gays may be capable of having kids, gay couples are very definitely NOT capable.
[–]TigerTigerBurning -1 points0 points1 point 5 months ago
I'm gay. I'm still gonna have kids. Hate on betch.
[–]Augrills 9 points10 points11 points 5 months ago
It can't be unnatural if it occurs in nature. Humans are a part of nature. As well as the countless other animals who can be homosexual.
[–][deleted] -12 points-11 points-10 points 5 months ago
It can't be unnatural if it occurs in nature.
By that reasoning, anything is natural. A priest raping an altar boy is "natural", since a priest is human and humans are part of nature.
[–]Augrills 14 points15 points16 points 5 months ago
It is natural because it happened. Whether something is ethical or unethical has nothing to do with it being natural.
[–]heloj 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago
you are not really good at comparing things together
[–]OmegaVesko 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
Are straight people that are unable to have children unnatural, too?
[–]YosserHughes 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
Just because straight people are unable to have babies, I think we can all agree that they should have the right to have babies.
[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 5 months ago
Yes, of course! Sterility or infertility is the result of an injury or a disease.
[–]vaginalenterprises 3 points4 points5 points 5 months ago
Sterility or infertility is the result of an injury or a disease.
Which is natural...
There are people that are born sterile.
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 months ago
There are people who are born with many different malformations. We try to fix those problems through surgery and medical treatment, wherever possible.
[–]Schroedingers_gif 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago
I don't like your other arguments but you have a point.
[–]spiltchampagne 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
Oooooohhh gawd, you're one of those asshats who actually want to spread your unwanted seeds and fill our species with even more narrow-minded scum than is already there, aren't you? So what say you about that appendix of yours? Does nothing to aid the natural progression of life, so I suppose you are, at least in part, also unnatural.
Thank nature for gays and the possibility of a fulfilling life without going back to such base, primitive ventures as child-bearing. You'd think we'd have moved beyond basic reproduction as the sole purpose of existence.
Everyone has an appendix. 1% of people are gay.
You'd think we'd have moved beyond basic reproduction as the sole purpose of existence.
You take a dump from time to time I suppose? Does that mean shitting is the sole purpose of your existence?
