I'm new to reddit and I don't know what the fuck Karma is. What is it and why is it so sought after amongst prostitutes. If its a comment rating point based thing, does it have any real world value? Why can't people just whore for money like they used to?

Karma is just the sum of all of the "upvotes" minus the "Downvotes" that you get from either comments (for Comment Karma) or links (for link karma). It has absolutely no real-world value or internet value, it is just a number.

On a user's "cake day" (1 year anniversary on the site), they typically post something that gets upvoted mostly because it's their anniversary, or because they've come up with a clever title for the image that they are about to repost.

It's so sought by users because it ultimately it translates to being accepted. It shows that that reddit approves of them.

This is the cutest and most awsome-shittiest painting i have ever seen. Do you think i can have it? I would pay for shipping. Also do you take requests?
