This man is actually a family friend who lost his mother like a week ago and whose house was destroyed today. This picture is more poignant than most people realize.

[–]LieutenantTaters 77 points78 points ago

Living in east limestone as well, does he have what he needs to put his life back together or could he use something I could round up?

[–]J3NGA 38 points39 points ago

Ardmore here. If there's anything I could help with I'd love to <3

[–]fillthishole 23 points24 points ago

My grandparents live in Ardmore. I called them twice tonight and they haven't answered. Did it get hit badly? The newsstation in TN where I am showed Ardmore taking the worst of it on the radar.

[–]bdust 11 points12 points ago

The power is out (lots of trees and lines down) and some houses took a good bit of damage. Last I'd heard (as of 11pm central or so), there were no fatalities.

[–]fillthishole 6 points7 points ago

Thank you! I'm very glad there weren't any fatalities like in some other parts of the country :/.

[–]J3NGA 2 points3 points ago

I know power and stuff was out. A few places got hit closer, but I haven't heard of anything worse than property damage. If I hear anything I'll let ya' know though.

[–]fillthishole 1 point2 points ago

Thank you! I was getting concerned about not hearing from them.

[–]J3NGA 1 point2 points ago

No worries!

[–]brown_felt_hat 1 point2 points ago

FWIW, a lot of phone lines in smallerish areas (I have no idea where any of this is, so I'm kinda assuming) simply aren't able to handle all the calls after something like this, and will simply not work. Add this into the fact that phone lines are fairly delicate to begin with, it's pretty normal for calling to be difficult.

[–]LieutenantTaters 1 point2 points ago

The cell towers are having trouble and there's still thousands without power. I have friends in Ardmore and they are all fine so I would assume as much! I am headed to Ardmore today so if I see crazy extensive damage I'll come back and let you know.

[–]Kaboomsy 1 point2 points ago

Hope you weren't hit, fellow East Limestoner!

[–]LieutenantTaters 1 point2 points ago

Barely missed, again! And you? I have been trying to find someone needing help this morning. I can't help clean up but I can bring lunch or something. If you hear of anything let me know!

[–]TinyKimchi 19 points20 points ago

Calera here. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

[–]ra3don 9 points10 points ago

Huntsville here. I second this motion.

[–]deadundead 6 points7 points ago

Madison, thirded. I'd love to be able to help out and do something.

[–]dragulmeu 8 points9 points ago

Muscle Shoals here. I wish there were something I could offer, but all I have are my prayers. This photo almost brings me to tears every time I see it.

[–]WobbleBet 2 points3 points ago

UK here, can't help physically but can donate money to this gentleman. Just let us know what is needed.

[–]xtrsports 6 points7 points ago

Tell us if he needs anything and we will make sure he gets it!

[–]ashpotatoes 1 point2 points ago

I'm his niece. They're insured and we've got a great family, but if you want to donate then try American Red Cross or if you're local then please volunteer! http://www.redcrossrelief.org/

[–]Dogmaster 6 points7 points ago

Heck Im from Mexico, and Id like to donate at least a bit.

[–]Wecancallmeb 3 points4 points ago

From Birmingham. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help. Tonight was pretty bad as well; hope everyone is alright.

[–]realchaos1 2 points3 points ago

Reddit, I've signed in to say this. Please, someone find this man. He needs our help, or at least someone initiate by reaching out to him.

[–]CommunistFodder 2 points3 points ago

Jesus. ok, now you've done it... tears. the best friends i have in the world are my dogs and to imagine the roller coaster of emotions this man has gone through this week... wow.

[–]micahi21 543 points544 points ago

I love how the dog has this stoic look on its face that says "No worries. I'll figure out a way to get us through this."

[–]beltaine 307 points308 points ago

"I have my human back. All is right with the world again."

[–]dubSTALLION 103 points104 points ago

Read this in Shadow's voice.

[–]tadghoc 53 points54 points ago

I have no idea what you're referencing, but my dog's name is Shadow. My mind just made up a voice for her, thank you for blessing my dog with a voice.

[–]PhilosoPanda 64 points65 points ago

It's from Homeward Bound.

[–]Mephibosheth 41 points42 points ago

I wanted to cry every time Shadow was down in that pit. I'll have to watch this movie again sometime, hopefully it holds up.

[–]sunsetsoonforgotten 50 points51 points ago

I am 25 and I still cry when Shadow is in the pit. I've seen it who knows how many times, and I've cried every time. I never cry over people in movies, but dogs, oh man.

[–]7point7 20 points21 points ago

Upvote for only crying at non-people. I can cry at animated people, but not actual humans. The beginning of UP I'm a little bitch and Marley and Me makes messes me up for a week. You give me a sad movie about real humans and I don't care at all.

[–]sunsetsoonforgotten 1 point2 points ago

Ah I know!! As soon as I read 'animated people', I though of Up. That's another one that gets me bad, jeez. And my family has always had yellow labs, so we own M&M but we always turn it off as soon as he starts to get old, cause we just can't handle it.

[–]BordomBeThyName 2 points3 points ago

Have you seen Click?

Watch Click.

[–]bkh 6 points7 points ago

The FUCK you mean 'wanted to'?

You think you're better than me?

...also 25 and cry at that stupid movie.

All dog movies are sad, what the fuck.

[–]inormallyjustlurkbut 9 points10 points ago

Really? For some reason I got Scruffie from Futurama.

[–]howerrd 1 point2 points ago

Read this in Morgan Freeman's voice.

FTFY

[–]Shazambom 45 points46 points ago

He seems like to say "Don't worry dude I got this"... poor guy.

[–]SmallMonster 34 points35 points ago

I work for an animal shelter, and I managed to keep it together looking at this photo. ...and then I read your comment and lost it.

I've seen so many people who are comforted by the presence of their furry friend, and this guy probably DOES feel like it'll be okay because he has his dog.

[–]DeadeyeDuncan 2 points3 points ago

You're last sentence made me lose it...

[–]The_Caring_Banker 15 points16 points ago

my thoughts exactly

[–]hivemind6 10 points11 points ago

Or actually the dog was just doing what dogs always do, and closely watching the strangers that were gathered around causing commotion.

[–]supersauce 32 points33 points ago

Don't you dis anthropomorphize that doggy!

[–]rheaume 1 point2 points ago

"Its ok, Ive got a doggy time machine that will let me shoot back in time and change the future so we don't live in a country where this 'setback' most likely means homelessness and death from lack of health insurance soon after. But yeah, I need to take a leak, am I good right here?"

[–]dman0821 2 points3 points ago

They're called mans best friend for a reason

[–]Magna_Sharta 1 point2 points ago

"Shit dude, what are you so upset about? There's some bushes right over there the pack can sleep under...we're good!"

[–]vuls 1 point2 points ago

That large woman on the right needs to let go, so that man can hug his friend.

[–]MissSunflowerBlue 101 points102 points ago

Doggie thousand yard stare in this one.

[–]Death_To_Your_Family 46 points47 points ago

I'm glad they are both okay.

[–]Remilla 2 points3 points ago

Says death_to_your_family.

[–]taboo_ 38 points39 points ago

Aww puppy got a boo-boo on his nose. =(

[–]morekatz 15 points16 points ago

I was watching the news and recognized him. Apparently, his mother died this week too.

[–]melia18 135 points136 points ago

This picture broke my heart. He must've been so worried about his best friend (talking about the dog and the man).

[–]skylla05 27 points28 points ago

Same here. While I understand what ksg94 is saying (especially about the onion factory), the fact that animals don't have a full understanding of what's going on to help themselves, makes a reunion like this very heartwarming to see that he made it. Who knows, that dog could be all he has.

[–]hellohaley 19 points20 points ago

this is the only picture that has made me tear up so far on reddit

[–]moammargandalfi 28 points29 points ago

I have to agree. I live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where this storm on April 27th killed 48 people. This man has that look of absolute frantic hopelessness. I have seen it twice in my life. My best friend was in his house when it was completely destroyed, and I saw that look in his mom's eyes, when we were trying to get him out and didn't know if he was alive or not (it turned out that he was alive and nearly unscathed). The other was in a picture of a Hispanic lady after 9/11. I don't know what picture it was, but this post has brought back memories that I never wanted to think about again. And now I am crying and writing.

[–]fillthishole 2 points3 points ago

I'm so sorry. I know the feeling I get in my heart when I think about 9/11. I can't even imagine how you must feel. My condolences.

[–]hellohaley 11 points12 points ago

hugs

[–]fourfs 6 points7 points ago

My best friend lost her apartment in Tuscaloosa. She would have died if she hadn't decided to go to the UA library to study/take shelter if needed. She lived in Alberta. We're from Atlanta originally so every time the storms come though both areas it just kills me. Ugh. So glad to hear your friend was okay.

[–]lmike215 10 points11 points ago

The videos about Thai life insurance that were posted on Reddit around Christmas time made me cry for the first time in three years.

[–]fartonme 1 point2 points ago

The one about the father and daughter... I lost it.

[–][deleted] 58 points59 points ago

And family and friends... who knows, he may be crying because someone died

Or because he lost his home

Or because the tornado hit an onion factory

[–]howdareyoutakemyname 59 points60 points ago

TIL onions are made in factories.

[–]omglazers 17 points18 points ago

I once bawled for an hour or so when my dog was attacked by a trio of pits and got bit up bad. He was just licking my face all stoic; bleeding all over me while I was the one crying my brains out.

[–]AlmoschFamous 14 points15 points ago

I heard onion factories are the number one target for tornadoes, then comes trailer parks.

[–]shugna 4 points5 points ago

This picture was taken right around the corner from my family's house. I don't think we made the news last April as we were, rightfully, overshadowed in the national media by Tuscaloosa, but the tornado that struck today actually followed damn near the same line as the strong April tornado. No joke, the neighborhood that was almost completely leveled today was less than 1/4 mile from the neighborhood that was leveled last year.

We got really lucky to not have that many serious injuries, but we lost a lot of houses. The most depressing thing in the world is to listen to a man hold his composure while speaking about their house being pulled into the sky all around them, but then beginning to weep as they mention that they can't find their dog or cat. Pets are cool.

Random ass comment of the day!

[–]Chrimbus_special 118 points119 points ago

What is so cross-wired in my brain that I can look at horrible, horrible photos and not blink an eye, but stuff like this gets me everytime.

[–]Syd3trakt 23 points24 points ago

Me too, I can look at /r/gore,wtf,spacedicks and not bat an eye, but pictures like these always shake a tear loose.

[–]Magres 43 points44 points ago*

It's because we can empathize with how that man feels. A couple years ago my parents' French Bulldog that I adore had a bad stroke, and we thought she was gonna die. I remember coming home for break, seeing her struggling to walk to come see me, and just completely losing it. I picked her up, hugged my little critter, and cried my eyes out with my mom (Edit: In restrospect, I realized this actually came out wrong, because it sounds like I was crying out of sorrow. It was actually one of the only times in my life I have cried out of joy. When our bulldog first had the stroke, she couldn't stand at all, and couldn't really even move. She couldn't bark. She was practically full-body paralyzed. Seeing her up and mobile meant there was hope that she could keep making progress, and I bawled my eyes out for how happy I was at the fact that she had a decent chance at continuing to live a happy life. I'm honestly getting a little choked up now thinking about it, haha)

She - the dog - is doing much better now. My folks did a ton of physical therapy with her and rehabilitated almost all of what she lost. Her front left leg is still pretty gimpy, and her back left isn't terribly stable, but she can run and play and is still happy, so there's a happy end to that saga :D

[–]SrsiouslyGuise 4 points5 points ago

Goddamnit I think it's raining in my house tonight

[–]DookieDemon 2 points3 points ago

I will hug my Frenchie after reading your post. I'm happy your dog is better again. I would be devastated if something happened to my little guy.

[–]Dr_Jackson 1 point2 points ago

Then what's it mean when stories like yours and the OP photo do nothing for me. Like I'm reading IKEA instructions.

[–]Magres 1 point2 points ago

Ever had a dog? If not, there's probably your answer. Armchair psychology here, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But intuitively, it makes sense that we aren't going to have a strong empathic response to situations we can't relate to - empathy is sharing in another's feelings, and to share in those feelings without directly knowing the person, we need to have experienced similar feelings at some point. I've had close calls with my dog, so I very much know both the gut-wrenching sorrow of thinking I'm going to lose my beloved companion and also the joy of knowing that I get to have them around for a while longer. If you've never had that happen, then not having a strong response makes perfect sense, and the only thing it means is that you've never had that experience on a personal level.

If you have experienced it, I think it still doesn't really mean anything. Not everyone has an equally strong empathic response to various stimuli. I see pictures of starving children in Africa and I just don't care, but show me a sad puppy who just lost his mom and I'm ready to turn on the sprinklers in thirty seconds flat.

[–]CompoundMix 9 points10 points ago

There's a.. gore subreddit? All my hopes and dreams have been answered.

[–]theshiz892 10 points11 points ago

Srsly, I don't want to know what dark pit spawns these people into existence....

[–]cheeseburgz 1 point2 points ago

The shock of it all makes you feel human for a little bit.

[–]MrThousandFace 6 points7 points ago

I could never visit r/gore, but I told my brother about it because he doesn't mind looking at and can stand that stuff. After about 30 minutes or so of browsing, I kid you not, he said his nose started bleeding. Whether it was because of all the images and shit he was looking at, I don't know, but there were no other variables to cause him to get a nose bleed.

[–]brown_felt_hat 1 point2 points ago

Most of my nosebleeds just start spontaneously, with no trauma. Juss sayin

Creepy coincidence or paranormal interference, I dunno.

[–]BringOutTheImp 1 point2 points ago

In manga, nose bleed indicates sexual arousal.

[–]hellohaley 1 point2 points ago

just saw spacedicks for the first time the other night, and had a slightly raised eyebrow expressing a hint of 'wtf' but this pic definitely made me has a tear

[–]nicksws6 12 points13 points ago

Fucking onions before I even clicked on the picture to see it full size.

[–]johnscrawls 2 points3 points ago

Even most sad pictures don't get to me that often, but fuck, this one sure did.

[–]TheVvote 1 point2 points ago*

I think you were asking rhetorically, but I believe in my case it's because I don't feel connected to the horrible photos, but this hits close to home (literally, I'm a Mississippian experiencing the weather right now, hoping my car doesn't have any hail damage). I can feel what they feel..

[–]Damaband41 1 point2 points ago

liek dis if u cry everytim

[–]SarahHeartzUnicorns 27 points28 points ago

I love this.

I want there to be more of this here. I don't really want to see a cute puppy, I want to see how animals are meaningful to people. How they can mean so much to one person.

That's what I love.

[–]readingrainboat 148 points149 points ago

"I've seen destruction. These times will pass. Stick with me, old man."

[–]TLZJCD 31 points32 points ago

Yeah, this dog might be like 9 years old. He's definitely seen some shit.

[–]bob11235 13 points14 points ago

Dude, that's like 60 in dog years.

[–]KerryAnneK -1 points0 points ago

Wow. Great comment.

[–]jcos444 44 points45 points ago

Well fuck this is sad/happy/sad.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points ago

And then happy.

[–]jcos444 0 points1 point ago

Followed by a touch of sad....and a pinch of happy.

[–]manolorojo 20 points21 points ago

I would be the same, and not taking in consideration that sometimes a Dog or a Cat would be one person's only companion in life...

Loved the pic

[–]Dtrain323i 21 points22 points ago

my great great uncle lived alone. His brother and sister both died back in the 90s. His only companion was this mangy nasty mutt named skippy. He told us that when skippy died he killed himself. We never thought much of it. Well skippy died and 2 months later, the last my family hired to help out found my great great uncle with a bullet hole in his head. Never underestimate the bond a man and his dog share.

The coroner estimates that had my uncle wencel not killed himself, he would have lived to at least 107.

[–]geekstcy 19 points20 points ago

He told us that when skippy died he killed himself.

Definitely thought he was talking to you from beyond the grave for a second.

[–]hellohaley 8 points9 points ago

why, when someone tells you they will kill themselves, did no one think much of it? o_o

[–]Dtrain323i 1 point2 points ago

Because he always spouting crap like that off. He "cried wolf" too often.

[–]riptaway 13 points14 points ago

How the fuck could he estimate that?

[–]Scriptonaut 14 points15 points ago

Autopsy, you can determine how much wear and tear certain organs have sustained, and how much longer they will likely continue to function. Nobody dies of 'old age', they die because a part of their body fails.

[–]DancesWithDownvotes 33 points34 points ago

I'm in Alabama, and the worst of what I'll get is supposed to hit where I live later tonight into tomorrow. I was actually at 911 when the bad weather came through last year and I remember how scary it was for people, and how eerie it was listening to radio traffic from other counties as they realized the extent of their own damage.

I think about last April and it gives me chills...my own brother was on campus during the storm that hit Tuscaloosa. Not only that, but while their tornado was coming through I was at work, listening to the radios of all my neighboring counties and listening to the responders and their dispatchers struggle to keep up with it all...while I watched what was going on in Tuscaloosa right up until the video feed cut. My mom called me where I work, crying, begging me for answers. Working in 911, I'm used to people expecting me to have the answers for everything...but man, I just didn't have them. Luckily my brother was fine.

This kind of thing stays with you, one way or another...through your own experiences, or the ones of those in need. But that day...the voices...no matter what, you'll never ever forget the voices...

[–]tollride 11 points12 points ago

I was on campus that day, and in Huntsville today. Today was nothing compared to then, but everyone's emotions were running high because of the disastrous storms in April. There were no deaths today. A leap better than then.

[–]DancesWithDownvotes 1 point2 points ago

Absolutely...and it's sort of a double edged sword, but emotions will probably be that way for a while. Unfortunate, but maybe some good will come of it in terms of preparedness and taking the threat seriously. I'd rather do too much than too little.

[–]coromell 1 point2 points ago

I was stuck in Sportsmed on Whitesburg for hours. My mom worked there at the time, and I left the salon I worked at a few miles away to sit out the rest of the storm with her and my fiance. Everytime we tried to leave and go home it seemed like there was another tornado warning. I can't forget the eerie feeling I had when we were sitting there without power, the emergency backups to all of the computers and electronics beeping, sirens going off outside. Remembering the panic of my normally reserved employers as they discovered they couldn't get in touch with their loved ones, or that an employee had headed out right before another tornado was spotted.

When I went back to work about a week later, I found out that one of our walk-in clients that night had come in with her mother and children from Arab. While they were in the salon with us, their house was torn off of its foundation. About a mile or so from them, a house and its five residents were lost.

I'm so glad that the storms today were nothing near that bad, but I can't help being on edge when the sirens start up again...

[–]moammargandalfi 10 points11 points ago

Hey man, I am from Tuscaloosa, and am now a student at UA. I am freaking out. Since April 27th, any time James Spann comes on TV, i get worried.

Did you see any of the victims of this storm on April 28th? This look of frantic hopelessness haunts me to this day. by best friend was buried in his house, and his mother had this look when we were trying to find him in the rubble. He was actually unharmed (mostly) but the look of utter despair that his mother had, chills me to this day.

[–]ToothBoogers 7 points8 points ago

I was a freshman last year so I lived in one of the dorms, and obviously all the power was out everywhere. At the time I had a girlfriend who didn't go to UA so I was trying to keep in touch with her and I had to sit in my car to charge my phone. I was listening to the radio while my phone was charging, and the DJ was just taking calls from people who were looking for information on their missing loved ones and seeing if anyone that was listening might know anything. It was terrible. People were looking for looking for their 4 year old sons and daughters, and trying to find out if their family across town was alive by patiently listening to the radio. I can't imagine the agony. April 27th and 28th were easily a couple of the strangest days of my life.

[–]DancesWithDownvotes 2 points3 points ago

The difficulty with communications made it incredibly frustrating. I can't imagine the weight that was on the system, but I know I had a lot of trouble getting through up to and after that. Luckily I had at least a vague idea of where my brother was and could be. I was eventually able to reach him by cell phone also, thankfully.

[–]ToothBoogers 1 point2 points ago

I'm glad he was alright. The only time it really was a problem for me was right after the tornado went through and everyone was on their phones. I was frantic because right before I had texted my mom and girlfriend saying- "Hey, there is an enormous tornado about to hit Tuscaloosa, I'm downstairs in my dorm and i'll be fine. Love you" Just letting 'em know. And then I couldn't get a text off for like 15 minutes after that. I think my mom called me like 10 times. Service was bad the rest of the time I was there, but wasn't really necessary for me.

The weather today honestly made me pretty nervous. We seem to be in the clear, though, I think.

[–]paxswill 1 point2 points ago

It may not help much, but text messages are slightly easier to send through the cell network. It may take a while once they're sent, but they aren't dependent on a connection being made to both your phone and the recipient's phone at the same time. They're also a to light on the network data wise.

[–]moammargandalfi 2 points3 points ago

My grandfather is 69, and has a sister who lives between holt and alberta. I remember seeing him scaling a massive fallen oak, to get to her. it was the craziest thing I have ever seen.

[–]DancesWithDownvotes 1 point2 points ago

I can't describe the feeling I get when I think about that day...and I know I spent all day listening to reports of weather and what was coming and it's all I can think about...but having been through that before, and having to deal with it from the standpoint of an emergency responder/public safety answering point will only make me better for the experience...hopefully.

[–]moammargandalfi 1 point2 points ago

I think it was worry then despair then emptiness. Then when I found out that no one I knew had been killed, there was a little relief, and the I realized what had happened and I descended back into a daze of emptiness.

[–]seaships 1 point2 points ago

Best of luck to you. Stay safe!!

[–]bdust 1 point2 points ago

Here is a video my brother shot of the April 27th tornado in Tuscaloosa last year. He was on campus, roughly a mile from it. I was horrified. He, luckily, was safe. Some of his friends weren't.

I work in law enforcement in north Alabama. We're not looking forward to this season at all. You're exactly right about not forgetting the voices. You don't forget the looks on their faces, either.

[–]RinkuTheFirst 17 points18 points ago

The man's home was destroyed, and the dog was inside the house when it was hit. It's so sad, but at least he has his friend.

[–]impurethoughts 86 points87 points ago

I love how stoic the dog looks.

"It's okay, Master. You can hug me. I knew we'd be reunited."

[–]TheExistentialGap 25 points26 points ago

seriously. the dog looks like he's just returned home from war and knows more than his old man will ever understand.

[–]Shippoyasha 1 point2 points ago

As intelligent as human beings are, we tend to not use our intelligence very well and we often stray from our purpose in life (if we even figure it out at all in adulthood). We let emotions sway us left and right. Most people abuse some type of vice or entertainment or food/stimulatant.

Animals, ironically enough, probably hold onto their emotions better than humans can. Because to animals, living a life in their moment is the only thing they do. It's not that dogs don't have emotions. They so clearly do. But their emotions are much more pure without any of the other crap humans are weighed down the stuff that can only come from having more intelligence than we know what to do with.

[–]seaships 9 points10 points ago

[–]pony_on_saturdays 1 point2 points ago

I was wondering why top comment was not about John Cleese moving to Alabama.

[–]oooolala 14 points15 points ago

This picture is simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming

[–]DeePrincess 14 points15 points ago

That dog looks fucking fearless... My heart goes out to the homes destroyed along with lives. I hope you all can rebuild. With love from canada <3

[–]wordmanbran 14 points15 points ago

Yep. I have a lot of nice things. But I would gladly give them all up to make sure my dog is safe. Not a hard decision, really.

As someone from Joplin,MO(we had an F5 tornado in May) this definitely made me tear up. It took weeks for people to find missing loved ones(humans AND animals) and to know right away that they're safe is a very emotional time. Especially since many loved ones never made it. Losing your house is the least of worries. I'm very happy for this man and his dog.

[–]LieutenantTaters 2 points3 points ago

This was the same area that an F5 ripped through in April. I think we are all getting tired of tornados!

[–]UnicornPuppy 5 points6 points ago

They just said on the local news that we had a full month's worth of tornadoes today. I'm absolutely dreading late March/April when they really start churning up. It's terrifying. Wish I could move.

[–]SlumLordJake 8 points9 points ago

Being a tornado victim I feel him... I swear I wasn't allowed to go back to my house and get my dogs for at least 24 hours, and when I was I broke down..

[–]maedhros777 14 points15 points ago

Aww....what an adorable human.

[–]Stancypants 17 points18 points ago

People are downvoting this?

Damn. Ya'll mothafuckas need some hugs too.

[–]starrynightgirl 1 point2 points ago

The upvotes/downvotes are skewed and are meant to throw off spam bots. The number next to the link though is the actual # of upvotes, but all reddit upvotes/downvotes ratios are skewed.

MY childhood dog is dying, and I can't even drive home to see her for another couple days because of school, so I'm just hoping she will be able to hang in there for a couple more days until I am at least able to see her one last time.

I've been avoiding all of the dog posts on reddit for the last few days because they just make me sad, but this one really captures the love that can happen between man and dog, and it actually cheered me up a bit... that man really appreciates what he has.

[–]2vulgar 4 points5 points ago

Pic of the year? I think so!

[–]Sylrein 3 points4 points ago

This is another perfect example of why dogs fuckin' rock. Beautiful picture.

[–]Innovationwarp 2 points3 points ago

[–]seuss80 2 points3 points ago

That dog's face totally screams: "I've seen shit".

[–]lawlinmypants 2 points3 points ago

Somebody please put a cape on that dog.

[–]Fffffuuureveralone 1 point2 points ago

Broke my fucking heart. So much love in this picture

[–]GrannyBacon81 1 point2 points ago

Dammit I hate tornados. Tornados and spiders are the devil's work. We have tornado alarms going off here in MS right now.

[–]DJMutagen 1 point2 points ago

aaannnd just hugged my canine friend. At least he has his best friend in the worst of times.

[–]freckledginger 1 point2 points ago

This photo hits close to home...literally, since this picture was taken approximately 45 minutes away from where I live. Tornadoes touched down all around me today; I feel extremely fortunate to have my home intact and to know that family (including my Yorkie) is safe and sound tonight.

[–]unical 1 point2 points ago

Dogs are the best.

[–]Pudle_Digginz 1 point2 points ago

people that down vote something like this... how do you sleep at night?

[–]reynej 1 point2 points ago

So fucking awesome. I seriously just hugged my dog for good measure.

[–]Rumpel-Foreskin 1 point2 points ago

Even Chuck Norris released a tear when he saw this.

[–]JNGeezy 1 point2 points ago

[–]goldenbeatle 1 point2 points ago

This picture sums up why I want to become a Vet

[–]iroqoco 1 point2 points ago

I love it... He must be so happy to be holding that lil pup...

[–]westbrookism 1 point2 points ago

Do we always have to be a stereo type... Roll Tide.

[–]JazzlasterBoris 1 point2 points ago

Such a powerful image! It's good to know that, despite the destruction of one's material goods and possessions, it only matters that he or she holds on to the ones they love.

On an unrelated note, anyone else think that the man looks remarkably like John Cleese?

[–]JOHNNYICE 1 point2 points ago

THATS PULITZER PRIZE SHIT MAN.....

[–]rr_at_reddit 1 point2 points ago

I can't draw or something, but imagine this as a reddit-rage-comic:

Le Derp living in a known tornado-area.

Le Derp builds a house out of wood and plastic instead of bricks and concrete.

Le Derp complains his house was torn down by a tornado.

But Le Derp's dog survived, it's a miracle, praise the Lord Jesus for that.

[–]zach84 0 points1 point ago

:(

[–]VanGoghFett 0 points1 point ago

I actually live around there.

[–]Toomanybeerz 0 points1 point ago

[–]ThePeepster 0 points1 point ago

[–]savel1 0 points1 point ago

[–]NickDerpkins 0 points1 point ago
