Do you lust after your lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys...because they were donkeys and that's generally how that works?

[–]dongpussong 0 points1 point ago

no it not sexual organs what I looking for rather the fur, body-shape and just pleasure from seeing dearest dog enjoyment. The idea that Im fucking with wolves is exiting on it own

I've always found him funnier off of his show.

So homophobia is wrong but misogyny is fine?

[–]Iwanttobelive 4 points5 points ago

You are trying to hard to be offended. This joke actually ridicules BOTH homophobia and misogyny, as he makes fun of god for valuing women less then men, not agreeing with it.

[–]Themaxx20 1 point2 points ago

I was reading it as him saying men have to put up with women but reading it again, given the context of the bible, you might be right.

[–]Iwanttobelive 0 points1 point ago

Well, admitedly, without the proper context it seem very sexist. It seems to be a common problem with jokes getting condensed into images (thereby missing the delivery, setup, overall theme and so on).

[–]Soporus 0 points1 point ago

This. He's being hyperbolic. It's a big part of the joke.

Now you're getting it.

To quote Daniel Tosh, "I'm mean."

I actually heard this joke like 10 years ago from another comedian. Chances are he wasnt the first to use it either.

WOMEN ARE CRAZY!!1 Omg we have to interact with them and pretend to treat them like people!

Yay, sexism. As a women, can I just say how much I love being insulted on this subreddit? Seriously. It's awesome. You should try it.

[–]Namaha 1 point2 points ago

Lighten up, it's a joke.

EDIT: By "it's" I mean the OP. As for the comments you read on this subreddit, I cannot say.

[–]MediocreDeity -2 points-1 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I understand what you meant. And no, I will not "lighten up".

Quite frankly, this isn't funny. It's just insulting, and says that women are such horrible beings that we must be "dealt with". The gays got it easy, not having to deal with those irrational female things!

I'm all for gay rights, (hell, I'm an activist for them) but it's not okay to throw another oppressed group under the bus to bulster them up. Especially since the atheist community already has a misogyny problem.

It's rather ridiculous, to say that things like this are acceptable and "funny", and then wonder why the hell there aren't more women involved in the skeptical and atheist communities.

Of course, the excuse often given is that they're just less rational than all the men. After all, who wouldn't want to join such a welcoming group to be demeaned for something they have no control over, such as their genitals?

Fuck that. We're skeptics (or the majority of us, anyway). We should be better than this.

[–]Solo413 0 points1 point ago

we should be but it is a quote from Tosh.0 what do you expect? its humor at someone's expense..

[–]MediocreDeity 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Nothing. I don't expect anything from Tosh.0. He's a comedian, a bit of an ass, and I don't know him or his values at all.

But I do expect more from this community.

Alienating and demeaning members of it for their gender, sexual preference, or anything else is not okay. I don't care how "funny" it is.

[–]Solo413 0 points1 point ago

so posting a joke is "Alienating and demeaning members of it for their gender, sexual preference, or anything else is not okay. I don't care how "funny" it is. "... i get it , its about being and atheist who is sexist... but its more about sexuality... the whole point is not a woman or man, but the fact that god has gays because they beat his system... the woman and man are just a setup for the punch line..

[–]MediocreDeity 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Alright, let me try to put this in to perspective.

This would be like the OP posting a homophobic joke (say, "You know how the bible says that gays are an abomination? Well, I have to agree. Why else would they subject us to their god awful parades and constant whining?), and then seemingly agreeing with it, or at least the humor of it, on a forum about atheism and, hopefully, equality. I fail to see how a misogynistic joke is any different.

If you fail to understand my point, that's fine. Just something to consider.

Well , sadly, in my life, i have irrational women.. there is a handful that do as they say, and the majority of rest, just do what ever they want... i guess its set in stone that men have to live by their word, while women flip any way they want... but that my personal perception... so it might be wrong, i didnt laugh at the joke, because it truly isn't funny, its just more a-ha moment...

i am the wrong person to defend because i kinda agree.. sill people exist everywhere.. I have rational men as friends and i have little female friends... because honestly, everywhere i go with women, just come off like i am having to "take care" of women, because i am a male...

its actually refreshing, to go do something , like camping, and having everyone setup their own tents.. not having to setup other people's because you know i am a man and the girl doesn't want to get dirty..

again i am just ranting... btw... i went snowboarding with a girl two days ago,, she got into an accident and hit a pole, broke her femur... everytime i take women somewhere, bad things happen... so i keep my friendship with women to no string attached only... i prefer males as friends..

[–]Namaha 0 points1 point ago

Again, he's NOT being serious. I don't know why you are interpreting it as such. Getting upset over a small joke like this is just silly...When I see jokes about how pervy men can be, or how stubborn men can be, etc. I don't get angry. If I find the joke funny, I laugh. If I don't find it funny, it's not because I found the joke insulting, just that it wasn't funny.

[–]MediocreDeity 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

It's not funny to me, because I fail to find misogyny funny. In case you were unaware, people actually believe exactly what he said in the joke is true, and a lot of women in this subreddit grew up hearing it.

To put this into perspective, do you find homophobic jokes funny? I fail to see how misogyny is any different. Or sexism, for that matter.

Anyway, if you fail to understand my point I have no further use in trying to make you.

[–]Namaha 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I find funny jokes funny, regardless of their subject. If a joke is made with the explicit intent of being sexit, homophobic, racist, etc. then it's not funny, it's hurtful. That is CLEARLY not the case here.

[–]anstromm 0 points1 point ago

You're such a mediocre deity.

And I don't claim to be anything else.

Pray to me, and you'll probably get a "meh" if I give a shit that day. On the bright side, I'm not much into torturing people in the afterlife.
