You can't see them, but they're here.

could be applied to both /r/Christianity and /r/Atheism. it's funny either way, so you get an upvote.

Self deprecating humour is good, its nice to show /r/atheism does not take itself as seriously as people like to think.

It'd be more applicable to Christianity since you have to play somewhat braindead when you're a zombie, it's exactly the same thing religious people can do without any effort.

Now I know why Atheists in general are so hated in America!

[–]Cheeseducksg 24 points25 points ago

This is how atheists feel in schools, towns, and states where the vast majority are mindless christians that would attack (verbally, emotional, sometimes physically) any atheist unlucky enough to be publicly 'outed' as such.

The analogy works so much better this way.

I actually don't mind you guys as much. I'm feel pretty good about my Christianity, and I like how you guys make good arguments. I also heartily enjoy all the funny jokes and fundie bombing.

TL;DR: You guys are awesome.

I would love to see more christians on here that's more willing to talk and toss ideas around rather than having a flame war.

TL;DR You are equally awesome!

[–]Dmoneater 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Yup

TL;DR: I agree with both previous statements and would like to add that you don't need a TL;DR if your comment is merely a paragraph.

[–]Ariedonus 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

The irony of having a TL;DR that is longer than the actual statement.

[–]SchroedingersHat 0 points1 point ago

Woosh

TL;DR Pointing out that the parent didn't, or appeared not to get the joke in the grandparent's statement.

I have this strange sense of relief now, because I hang around r/atheism pretty often, and I always got the sense that if I said anything about my beliefs I'd get shot down pretty bad. Seriously, awesome. All of you.

Well this is the internet after all. There's trolls pretending to be atheists and trolls pretending to be christians. Everyone on the internet could be a dick without anyone ever know who they are or where they live.

But I do encourage you to keep posting on /r/atheism. Here's alot of good people who can be quite helpful.

I don't know if you've ever met an atheist in person, but if you do, please keep in mind that we're all humans. There's no diffrence between you and me. Out hearts beats no diffrent.

Now, I'm gonna cure myself from a hang over. -_-

I always found that on reddit more atheists than christians are annoyed with this subreddit.

[–]Kreatorrage -4 points-3 points ago

You're still delusional.

[–]ChimpsRFullOfScience 0 points1 point ago

While I agree with the sentiment, you might get more traction with a less-confrontational 'why'.

[–]SlaughterMeister 32 points33 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Surrounded by mindless things that will viciously attack you if you make a wrong move?

Sounds more like atheists wandering through a church service.

[–]wvboltslinger40k 25 points26 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Actually it sounds like anyone wandering through a rally of people who hold opposing beliefs.

[–]gmano 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

It's more applicable in the context of religion, as in most cases I hope people think for themselves, this is not the case with religion.

[–]Owadatsumi 2 points3 points ago

Exactly how I feel sometimes.

[–]Seasonalfail 0 points1 point ago

I might be alone here, but as a fairly secure-in-my-beliefs Christian, I find myself agreeing with many of the things said here. I also find myself absolutely despising certain other things that are posted here. Pretty much an identical situation with the opinions of my Christian community (/r/Christianity is boring as hell).

tl;dr: It ain't bad here.

for me it's more like this: http://i.imgur.com/yKhEp.gif

There are so many things I want to say, but in the end I'm just like, fuck it, I'll let them have their fun. Any place that's full of likeminded people tends to get circlejerky, and I'm a part of that problem on some other subreddits so it's not my place to bitch.

[–]DarrenBurton 4 points5 points ago

Nailed it.

Also the answer to how the guy killed the zombie.

[–]arbitraryentry 1 point2 points ago

So... you're suggesting Christian lurkers have a three day re-spawn rate?

[–]xKJx25 1 point2 points ago

I think that picture better represents atheists trying to live with bigots & fundies

[–]ImChristian 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I would say I agree with about 70% of what I see here. Much of the rest is just the same things going round and round. I live in the UK and it seems that much of the hate is directed towards american fundies who, it seems, treat atheists terribly.

For example, this video is something we can agree on.

[–]Dmoneater 0 points1 point ago

That's exactly how I feel everywhere except /r/atheist

[–]tatermonkey 0 points1 point ago

I hope that's not a spoiler for Walking Dead or I'll be really pissed! Then again Andrew Lincoln may play more roles than just Rick Grimes. The same for Steven Yeun who plays Glenn, and Lauren Cohan (aka Maggie Greene).

[–]JaredF1234 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

...uhm... it's from season 1.

Really, it's the only episode I enjoyed. Season 1 was an absolute bust. I stopped watching with the finale. Haven't bothered with the second season.

[–]JohnSmallBerries 0 points1 point ago

Agreed; it was like being at a LAN party without a computer, watching a bunch of other people play Left 4 Dead.

Um, actually I already have two jobs, but this job is a full time position in an equity theater. Not exactly a nothing gig. And I regularly work 14 hour days between my current two jobs and make less than the one I'm attempting to get. Not exactly lazy, doll.

Is this a ripoff of the Shaun of the Dead scene?

[–]Kreatorrage 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

But the comic and Shaun of the Dead came out in the same year, so I say it's fair game.

[–]Kreatorrage 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the scene, it's a total rip off.
