i would hypothesize that the SUV was totaled in a wreck(most likely rear ended someone.) so they took it home and salvaged the engine and then loaded the SUV up with any scrap metal before taking it to the junk yard as a lot of junk yards pay by the pound.

I nailed a washing machine in my half-ton Silverado pckup on the right front at modest neighborhood speeds - Minor cosmetic damage / a little broken plastic. Looked up from lighting a cigarette to hear a thud and see it tumbling away. Did not inspect the washer, have not returned to the street where it happened.

Something like this actually happened to my family once as we were going to the mall. A pickup truck had a stove strapped in the back, hit a bump, and the single bungee holding it down snapped and it actually did a little flip over the truck's gate and smashed into the road in front of our car. My stepdad swerved the car and barely missed hitting it, and I saw it whiz past my window. The thing didn't even break, so I could totally see it completely annihilating the front of a car, not to mention the people inside it.

This happened to us almost while going down the interstate. The guy knew he lost the washer and just kept going. We followed him and when he finally pulled over he just tightened the strap around the dryer that had come loose too. Call the state police and gave them his license plate since I'm sure it caused some havoc on the road, not sure what the outcome was.

Things like that do jump in front of you in the UK because the chavs drop them from bridges onto motorways. Apparently they have refined it into dropping a washing machine or cooker onto the road to make you swerve into the second one they drop slightly later...

That's the cheapest oven sold by Sears (kenmore, no self clean, under $ 399 so it doesn't qualify for free delivery).

Some jerk didn't want to pay for delivery so he probably tried to put it in his trunk (why else would he unbox it?).

Long story short, asshole tried to save a buck and caused a major accident.

Edit: I can guarantee it's a brand new oven and not simply somebody moving it from house to house. The window is spotless, and the yellowing directly below the vent hasn't appeared yet.
