Everyone keeps saying it looks like something from MTG, and thats pretty true. But what it REALLY reminds me of is kind of how I pictured the Spacing Guild's Mentats or Navigators when I was reading Frank Herbert's Dune. I always thought that if those guys are so strung out on Spice, there is no way they could look human. And clearly, the nuns would remind anyone of the Bene Gesserit.
