You either believe that it's a human life or you don't. I don't understand why that has ANYTHING to do with religion. It's science, that leaves room for some level of interpretation.

If you believe it's a human life then abortion is murder and there shouldn't need to be some eloquent argument made in its favor. If you believe it's a cluster of lifeless cells, then there is no grounds for a law against it, like there is no law against cutting your fingernails....

to say "I'm against abortion for religious reasons" is stupid. It's like saying "I'm against stealing for religious reasons" as a society we believe that stealing is wrong because it violates another human's rights. Your religion might confirm this, but this is considered moral without religious consideration, therefore we have a law. Equally, IF abortion is murder, then it's wrong regardless of religion.

How can one claim that abortion is a religious thing?
