not really either. Up until that point, i thought the movie was legitimately entertaining. it wasn't really horror, but it was a decent supernatural movie It felt like they were at least trying to come up with something that they thought someone might enjoy. then they got to the goat scene and someone swapped out the director out for a stoner dickhead who said "hey guys... Wouldn't it be funny if we put a goat in there... and it talked... and it called her a bitch! Heh..." After that, I got the impression that everyone knew that it was ridiculous and just stopped trying.

I see what you are saying, and I kind of feel that way about a lot of movies these days but, just in case you don't know, that director is famous for making ridiculous movies that are essentially absurd comedies advertised as supernatural thrillers or horror movies. Take the "Evil Dead" series as an example.

I think it's one of those cases where everyone who knew the director went in thinking "Omg this is going to be ridiculous!" and everyone who went in thinking that they were going to see a decent supernatural movie was like "Wow they really fucked this up".

If you already knew all this then I apologize for being a dolt...

It's fine, you're not a dolt, but I did already know that. And that was what I was expecting through most of the first quarter of the movie, then when it wasn't absolutely insane, I started thinking that maybe the director had gone for something different. I love those movies that are really fucked up, but they have to start it at the beginning, that way everyone has fun with it, or start normal then slowly and deliberately move into insanity. that scene was just kind of WTF, then it tried to go back to normal. It was like trying to splice a clip of Spongebob freaking out into a movie about a sinking ship.

Absolutely. It managed to tread a fine line between horror and comedy like no other.

Shaun of the Dead was great, but it sort of wobbled between comedy and horror. The horror was really horrific, and the comedy was really comedic - but somehow Black Sheep managed to actually fuse the two into a coherent narrative.

I think Drag me to Hell is the funniest horror comedy I've seen, but I'll give this a go.
