To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead. - Thomas Paine (i.imgur.com)

I'm going to post this to see how many of my fundie "friends" like it just because it's a quote from a historical figure.

I like it!
Though, I think of it like the way we irradicated smallpox. We tried to treat the sick, but in the end it wasn't for the sake of the sick - they often died anyways. It was instead for the healthy around them, who were all immunized to the disease.

Every day I love Thomas Paine just a little bit more. It may start getting into creepy territory soon, but I will power through!

There's a little more to that quote.
To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead or trying to convert an atheist with Scripture.
But, I definitely understand leaving that part out. It wouldn't really be very helpful, would it?
