Because it was an old board from when there was very few and they considered that it didn't belong in a reddit with so many subreddits.
I disagree with them. Even if there is a perfect subreddit for anything, not everyone knows exactly every niche subreddit, and one may not be satisfied with the low exposure of a niche subreddit. There is really a need for an all-purpose place to post what is not clearly funny, nor wtf, nor a pic, but still interresting enough to please a vast audience.
I'm personally for the re-purposing of r/misc for this. But of course others will have other subreddits to suggest. The problem is that they got rid of a standard and it will take time for a new stardard to emerge.

Burial is a genius, but he's hardly representative of dubstep, he just got lumped in with the genre because he was making bass music around the time dubstep was blowing up and he released his music on Hyperdub. I think the general consensus now is that he's 'future garage' but who cares really what you call it.
Skream, Digital Mystikz, Loefah etc. would better represent the genre as a whole if you're just going to link one song.

There is certainly some very worthwhile dubstep, so long as they don't take it too far. This one, for example, does it very right, in my opinion. So long as they stay away from the ridiculous amounts of crashing mechanical jargon that sounds more like a fight scene out of Transformers than music, dubstep can be pretty good.

I went fishing once with my old man, and it was a fairly terrible day. Lines kept getting snagged; fish got away. We were nearing the end of the day when I felt a fairly substantial tug on my line. I started reeling it in, but this fish was a brute. Kept pulling on the line to the point where I almost lost my rod.
My dad grabbed the line and started pulling it in with his hands. I dropped the rod and joined him. From afar, we must have looked like two men pulling an imaginary rope. Soon enough, we pulled up this massive bass. Let me tell you, this thing was huge, bigger than anything I'd ever caught before. We held it up under the light to get a good look at it. For whatever reason, I looked at the pier, and saw two Skrillex fans waiting patiently.
