I would hate to live somewhere like that. Where the fuck are the trees?

I know right, I doubt that in a logic based world we would eliminate nature.

They still look like shiny out of place office buildings built from steel and glass.

No, that's a lie. A city of that size would require an enormously huge population, and seeing that we are Atheists we are going to require our women to have multiple abortions every year. There would be no way our population could ever get that high.

Yeah but our science will conquer death so that with even a small birth rate our population will greatly increase.

And we will need all those abortions for our Atheist Baby Eater Restaurants.

"And Thou shalt love thy city and love thy trees" (Urbans 18, 2)

Who said religion can't get you there ?

This looks more like a dystopic, religion dominated future.

These "future concept" designs really blow my mind and make me think. We've gone from empty deserts to sprawling, "futuristic" cities (I'm thinking of Dubai here) in less than 20 years, where will we be in another 10, 15, 20, 50, 100?

Thanks for the post.

but trust me

Why should we trust you? Populations limit themselves in many advanced nations, and there is a possibility that earth population will stop expanding at one point. There is more than enough free land to build dense cities that do have enough green\natural beauty, while maintaining vast untouched nature.

Personally, I would prefer to live in somewhere like this http://i.imgur.com/p79tB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/weK3j.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IljpD.jpg

What about rural living, will that change at all?

I've been in small agri-centric southern town for the past couple of years, and I never want to go back to the way it was when I was living in those huge west coast metro areas.

But good on you! I find planning and architecture fascinating. Good luck!

[–]trabajaba 1 point2 points ago

no, rural living should stay the same for the most part. The mainstream plans for now are to create light rail lines and/or hybrid buses that will be able to connect crops directly to markets, which will call for the elimination of existing freight rail lines and the conversion to...more green space!

Replacing blind faith in religion, with blind faith in science will get us nowhere. People used to believe in eugenics as scientific fact and used this dogmatic certainly in science to sterilize people.

This is just mindless slogans with no thought. Quoted by people who in past times would be quoting the bible.

Science and religion are dead ends. Faith in humanity gets us places.
