Actually, I do believe it to be a bass drum. Perhaps the #1 or #2 because it is indeed on the small side, but it looks like the one side has an emblem painted on it and not the snare tensioner. Also, marching snares are usually made really deep to help them be heard outdoors while bass drums are thinner to let you get your arms around it.

I guarantee you this had something to do with soccer in South America. I went to some CONCACAF games at Gillette Stadium a few years ago, and despite the fact that

  1. Drums are heavy and

  2. It was fucking raining

Some of the crazier Honduran fans sat in the upper section, in the rain, and brought huge ass drums like this to pound during their team's games.

Also not just in the America's, a few amount of people got arrested today before the Ajax vs ManUtd game in amsterdam because they wanted to start a fight with the English supporters.
