I used to do this every semester, until I almost failed out of college and had to switch majors. Now I'm looking at at least three more years of college and even more student debt when I graduate. This semester's going much better and I might even make dean's list at this rate, but my GPA is never going to be awesome and I've fucked myself over pretty badly with previous semesters.

So anyway, willful laziness and ignorance hardly ever pays off. Wish I'd taken less time to realize that.

My sentiments exactly. This is the story of my semester right now. I got a pell grant, spent all the money on stuff (probably mostly crap, I really don't remember) and was so eager to get the fuck out of a class, I dropped it and didn't realize that I would owe money back for dropping early. So I turned around and owed $700 dollars back to the university. Me? Dumbass? I think so. You live, you learn though.

If you can't do all the work, just do a little of it. First of all it's better than not doing any work at all, and second, you can use that as a basis for creating better study habits to the point where you do all of that work no problem.

Back when I went to school people were excited to be there and looked forward to going to class everyday, working on projects and discussing material with other students. For me it progresses like this:

Okay, new semester, gonna give this 110%
first couple weeks are easy, full of easy to grasp concepts and shit I already know. I start giving less of a fuck.
Class starts getting harder, I don't notice it immediately, so my fuck giving stays low. Slight decrease in performance.
Now trying to shift back to a high fuck giving gear, but it's slow. Notes aren't very useful, WHY WASN'T I PAYING MORE ATTENTION?
Crunch time, The fuck giving rate is maximum, thank god for the text and Wikipedia, need to make up for the poor performance earlier

Can I be a moderator, too?	As much as we love when community members want to help out, we can't accept requests for becoming moderators, or we'd be overwhelmed with nothing but such requests.
