Person 1: Typical response.

Person 2: Then why don't explain to me how I'm wrong.

AKA: I can't form an argument but am too proud to concede.

This is seriously one of the dumbest conversations I have ever read. From one atheist to another, if you're going to run around pissing on religious people, at least take the time to understand what it is you're arguing in favor of. Otherwise you really do look like an idiot and, by extension, make the rest of us look stupid.

His "typical atheist" remark was spot on...you seriously said nothing of value and argued with the intellectual prowess of an 11 year old. Spend some more time reading, less time proselytizing. When you're capable of forming a coherent point, then you can set out on your crusades. Until then, keep it down. It's unfortunate the most ill-informed, dimwitted atheists are the most vocal -- I guess we're not so different from most groups of people.

And no, I am not defending the other person. You're both immature and lack the necessary attributes to have a discussion on the subject.

Start linking spacific news articles and scientific facts. Overwhelm them with your evidence. I did this today to a guy who thought women shouldn't serve in the military. He caved and admitted he was wrong. It's a different topic I know, but you could start linking the spacific articles that deal with religious people condeming those who get abortions, you could link scientific studies done that prove evolution, and you can post links to laws that people try to pass alienating the minorities. You need to back up your opinions with sources and facts.

What's scaring me is that the argument for abortion seems to have lost a lot of space and is now limited to "if a parent is about to die because of his child". Soon atheists, in their examples, in order to suck up to conservatives, will use phrases like "he was using condoms because he knew a pregnancy will kill his wife".

Just no. We DECIDE when we want to become a parent. There is nothing immoral about it. Every night, instead of watching tv, you can go out in street and look for struggling animals. I am sure if you did that every night, you'd save about 50 animals (where I live) from death during your lifespan. But you don't do that. That's more immoral than the abortion of a 1 week fetus. It's fine that some people prefer not seeing it this way in order to find an excuse to ban pre-marriage sex. Just don't suck up to them.

Arab =/= Muslim. There are millions of Christian Arabs and they make up the majority of Arabs living in the US. They include not a few Protestants, but they are mostly some form of Orthodox or Catholic.

I think that sometimes people are ignorant, but is it necessary to be an asshole about it? I'm an atheist, and I don't give a shit if somebody thinks 'god' exists. Does this person on Facebook's opinions influence your life? Probably not. As atheists we want to be accepted in society,so why not start accepting other people's faiths? I love science as much as the next guy, and it pisses me off when people ignore it, but telling people they're wrong won't make them believe it.
