I was raised Jewish but I took a lot of art classes as electives because I thought art history was interesting in college. Of course this is reviewed in every class so it got pounded into my head over and over. The second I saw the picture I instantly knew which was who by placement. I also was a little sad to see that cloud wasn't knocking anything over has judas was in the original painting.

tl;dr Because I'm a Jew i know where Judas is.

The guy to the right of Samus that nobody recognizes is from Tactics Ogre. The Tactics Ogre/Ogre Battle franchise is one of the most underrated in the history of gaming, IMO.

You want RPG gold? Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Calibur. Cannot recommend it highly enough, one of the first games I remember playing that had multiple storylines and endings.

No, he is not. There are several popular protagonists from acclaimed FPS titles that predate Master Chief (such as Gordon Freeman). The only people that think Master Chief is the Mario of FPS's, are console kids that favor ignoring the amazing FPS's that existed on PC before Halo.

Halo is the the one that really revolutionized the way developers make FPS's. It brought FPS's to the big screen and everybody played them. Previously, i was mostly platformers on the consoles that were popular, like Mario.

Correction: Halo only revolutionized console FPS titles by making them playable (and popular). As for PC FPS's, they had been playable and very popular before Halo existed.

Examples: Counter-Strike (Half-Life), Starsiege Tribes, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex

This isn't even really a debate at this point.

With these types of pictures portraying "classic" video game characters, Master Chief commonly gets thrown in as if to suggest he is on that level. He isn't, and I'm glad that he wasn't included.

That was the point.

In general, Halo receives more praise than it deserves because so many console-only players are completely ignorant of the amazing FPS games that came before on the PC. That may not be their fault, but they also stubbornly ignore the facts provided to them, which only makes things worse.
