If we're going to look at statistics, we should look at the number of people killed by sharks and the number of people that "go missing" while swimming/diving/snorkeling/etc. I'm sure that at least a significant number of those missing persons might very well have been eaten by sharks.

The stats are true, but I personally know 3 people who've been bit by sharks. Also, the "addressable market", if you will, of people who get bit by sharks are people who surf, swim, dive in the ocean in shark habitats. That number has to be a WHOLE lot smaller than people who drive, etc.
