I was completely obsessed with the Lamborghini Countach as a kid. I used to play games at the boardwalk as a kid where you could win framed posters, and I must have collected 4 or 5 of them in diffrent colors (as well as a few of the Barbie Twins and other hot chicks).

I've since learned from England's Top Gear that they are actually complete pain in the ass cars to own and drive. It hasn't diminished my love of the cars one bit.

Those things really are that small. There's one in my neighborhood (that this idiot keeps in his driveway with no cover) that I was creeping on, and that thing only came up to my torso. Needless to say, it's awesome.

The Countach is listed with a height of 3 feet 6⅛ inches, and those guys in the picture are standing away from the car, on a curb at that.

Sorta true. The 21-23 window buses go for that much or more (Like the 23 that recently sold at Barrett-Jackson for 200k+. But Ive seen really decent buses go for under 20k.

I tend to find the only people that can afford a decent Splitwindow bus are retirees and people that have been dealing in the VW scene forever,

I have owned several buses and Beetles as well and I am definitely not a hipster, I would still have them if they weren't so expensive.

haha I just had to rant a little, my dad used the van for work back in the old days and what gets me going is that the split windows are so rdiculously expensive, a decent one cost about 50k € and that is nowhere near what they are worth. I don't mind them for what they are, an icon, but it is just the crazy price that gets to me. And for the Vespas even though this is not a vespa, it is the same thing but on a much smaller scale. You get a ride with very little power and you have to lean to the side at all times because the center of gravity is, well, not in the center....didn't mind to piss of anyone just showing my disgust to overratedness.

  1. Vespas may be stinky, but they aren't loud. 2. Most of the people who ride old Vespas are middle aged (and older) guys. 3. How the hell are VW's or Vespas any less convenient than any comparable mode of transportation? That doesn't even make sense.

Where i live hipsters in their 20's get vespas. Even stock vespas are pretty loud but it seems to be 'hip' to have a broken exhaust. Vespas are not convenient because you have to lean to the side at all times because of their off center of gravity, most have a abysmal hand shifter and the breaks are lousy. Comparable mode of transportation: a current Honda Vision scooter gets three times the mileage has a decent handling and costs half that of a restored vespa from the 60s

edit: not that I have anything against vintage bikes or cars, but some are just way too hiped!
