Here's my hypothesis, the picture gets on Reddit for one reason or another. Then, some jackass decides to put it on Tumblr to get karma or whatever the hell they do over there. I know many of my friends on Facebook would like reddit but they just aren't interested in "getting in to it". Since I'm not going to be a douche and try to cram reddit.com in their face, I simply post those things they would find interesting or enlightening on Facebook. It's not about making myself look smart or clever or original. It's that helping them enjoy the intarwebs a little more makes me feel good.

Of the however many friends I've accumulated on fb, I'm only sure that a handful of them are redditors, most notably (not redditors) my parents, aunts and uncles and my parents' friends.
And besides, it's fucking facebook. If I see something that I think people I know will get a chuckle out of, or a link to a majorly important news story that I think everyone should take a look at, I link to it, and note that I found whatever it is on reddit, giving people the option of just clicking the link, checking reddit out of shear curiosity.
This also leaves a third option, which is what I do when I see something I didn't want to see on my news feed: keep scrolling down without getting all pissy pants and cluttering up everyone else's news feed with whiny pretentious bullshit.
